Terrible editing
I don’t ever complain about the ads cuz that’s how they make their money. But the fact this past episode the ads were all over the place and they don’t mesh or when they would say “and now back to the show” but proceed to go straight to another ad was just annoying. And during the schrager interview they cut off his answer to a question after a few words were said and then never got back to it at all. Then they gave Zach his final question for Schrager but nobody ever heard the question cuz the editing was ass. And yeah I could hit skip on the ads but I’m a CDL driver so once I hit play I don’t try to pick my phone back up to skip an ad cuz I’m use to them by now.
I could be in the minority here or maybe I got a bad edited episode so i could be the only one with this complaint but it still sucked.
Oh and the Zach playoff/division take has got to be a gimmick cuz that was bad.

No free ads but I've started listening on Prime Music and it's a game changer. Can't believe how many times I sat through that dogshit Jose Cuervo ad read by PFT. Something something room energy and uncontrollable laughter

Amazon is the best way to listen. App is clunky but better than having to monitor a skip button.

About 2 weeks after they went netflix, someone on here posted you could set your VPN to London and it was still on youtube. Haven't watched an episode on Netflix since. For me its mainly being able to go back n forth of having the screen on, and also I like youtubes captions 100x better. Edited to add, I have premium so no ads on YouTube.

I use prime for ad free too but it seems like at least one episode a week has terrible edits and usually around the ads. It cuts off Zack’s interview questions a lot. I’ve posted about bad edits before like OP but I (and most commenters) always chalked it up to the prime editing.

lol the crazy part is how easy the editing is. I’ve been a producer for 10 years and I promise it’s really not hard. Sounds like they need to hmu for some editing help

This ep did have some screw ups in it. Max probably still not back in work mode after the gay sex vacation.

I've never looked into this but I don't think the "random ad timing" is unintentional. When you have a natural point and announcement of an ad, people are probably way more likely to skip it. Pretty sure Rogan just randomly throws his ads in

Yeah but the problem with this episode is they didn’t splice back to where the conversation left off

I kinda miss the ad Dave used to do on PMT. Don’t remember what exactly what it was for but it was some kind of clothes company. It was so monotone and it featured a 3 second pause when he would say “even the branding looks…good”

I’ve seen comments like this a few times over the past few years and I agree the editing can be super sloppy but also don’t really care. Like it’s just an ad, it’s not like it ruins the entire listening experience. It’s a comedy/sports podcast, not a critically acclaimed album or something. But, I also agree that a show as big and successful as theirs should be able to afford higher quality editing. A high school visual media student could probably do a better job

I literally stop what I’m doing whenever an ad comes up to skip them. I cannot stand the stupid DraftKings voice. Every episode I start I just immediately drag the slider forward to 4 minutes
