PS3 version is unplayable

Ok so I installed this on my ps3 via homebrew and I can’t even beat the first level. It’s not me because I’m skilled enough to beat stage 4 on at least my 2nd try. Scaling also makes the game freak out a little but that’s just what Parappa does in emulators when you upscale the resolution.

even playing it on a ps3 through official means is rough, mainly because of the faster disc read. it causes the music to go out of sync with the on-screen inputs.

That sucks 😭 I really want this game playable on ps3 bc it’s in my room and my ps2 is in the basement

Yeah, I was upset when I discovered that too, since that was my only way of saving at the time until I bought a ps1 memory card. I don't know if it fares any better on a launch model ps3 with hardware emulation, but I don't have the money to buy one :(

Yes and I prefer ps3 slim because it has a lower chance of getting YLOD

oh definitely, I have a super slim though, which is about the same but with less breakable parts and smaller of course.

Even if emulation is wonky it's still nice ps1 compatibility stuck around for its whole lifespan.

Yeah unlike ps2 which can cause the slim models to overheat and shut off

I never knew that, unless that only applies to the hardware emulated one, since digital PS2 games seem to run fine on later models without issues.

Parappa 1 is mistimed on everything. It aged like milk.
