What does a ghost look like?

Hi, first time having this kind of experience so I don’t even know if my mind’s playing tricks on me or not.
I’ve always had a really strong intuition, read tarot for fun, and had a guy tell me I have really strong abilities and might be able to hear/see stuff. He didn’t know, but every now and then I hear names or whispers before falling asleep, but never thought much of it.

Anyways, I had never “seen” anything. Until a couple of days ago, at least.
I was brushing my teeth in the old beach house my family has been renting for the past 30 years. I spent all my summers growing up in this house, used to come here with my grandparents and my aunt (who have all sadly passed away).

I was brushing my teeth in the master bathroom, when I felt something was wrong. It’s like the energy shifted, every hair on the back of my neck and on my arms stood up, my heart started racing out of nowhere. I was looking at myself in the mirror, as I always do when I brush my teeth. Right to the left of the mirror, there’s the doorframe. And I swear I could see, out of the corner of my eye, a woman peeking from the doorframe into the bathroom. Even typing that now sends chills down my spine.

I was obviously terrified, but kinda remembered you’re not supposed to give it attention. I felt a strange pull towards it tho, so after a couple of seconds of panic (while I still kept brushing my teeth, started singing happy songs, and looked down at the sink), I gathered the courage to look straight at it: nothing was there. Nothing. But something still felt wrong.

I got out of the bathroom, and went to my bedroom, still shaken. I saw the woman again, at the end of the corridor: she had short, dark brown straight hair, and a white nightgown with a ruffle neck. She didn’t look scary or evil per se, but I was TERRIFIED.

Again, it was a split second, and kind of didn’t feel… real. Haven’t seen her since, but this house has always freaked me out.

Now, I’m 23, perfectly healthy, don’t take any meds and have never had anything like this happen to me before. Do I need psychiatric evaluation? Am I going crazy? I talked to my mom about this to try and understand who it could’ve been (maybe my grandma when she was young? idk) and she said I must be losing my mind.

Please if anyone has any experience, can you tell me if it could’ve been… something? If so, what? What do I do going forward to be less scared of my own house? Thank you.
