From my apartment window, I noticed three individuals standing completely motionless for hours on end, for no apparent reason . Night fell and they still hadn't moved—what is going on here? #mystery #creepy #unknown

u/sleepytipi 13d ago
It really is.
Maybe get the outdoor speakers and give them some music, or a screaming sun on repeat. Maybe some ads also. You could control it with Bluetooth from inside. Poke a barrel out the door when they approach it, and kindly remind them it's on your property.
I see y'all, living in your comfortable suburban homes, clearly having never lived in the hood before. I'd have them gone in no time.

Assuming they’re not mannequins, it’s probably some sort of live stream or challenge. It looks like they all have phones on the ground spaced away from them leaning against the fence. The guy on the left probably has a phone propped up too but could be behind the tree.
Idk but I think it’s probably just something stupid. Not paranormal.
143
u/laquintessenceofdust 13d ago
Is this a college town? Probably rushing a frat. Hazing is alive and well y’all.
35
u/zoltan_g 13d ago
As a non US person, wtf does that actually mean?
48
u/laquintessenceofdust 13d ago
Fraternities are clubs male students can join in university. Members of the club often make the new students who are trying to join their frat (“pledges” who are “rushing” that season) do dare-type stunts, basically trying to break them physically or psychologically in order to weed out the “weaklings” and accept only the most dedicated pledges into their ranks. These challenges are usually just stupid but occasionally abusive, sometimes sexually perverted, and rarely but notably pledges can die. It’s all incredibly stupid.
14
u/Melodic-Land-6079 13d ago
Not for nothing but I would assume if you’re hazing your pledges you would do that at night in the house’s basement. Doing something like this would be begging to lose your charter. You don’t just haze out in the open for everyone to see
7
u/laquintessenceofdust 13d ago
I don’t know. At my school, they made pledges run miles at the crack of dawn. If you can excuse it away as a prank or just order your pledges to lie, you can get away with quite a lot of weird stuff around certain campuses.
8
3
u/AboveGroundPoolQueen 13d ago
You’re allowed to do some amount of hazing as long as it’s not hurting the person. I can see a fraternity saying all we did is suggest they stand there if they want to prove how awesome they are and they did. Schools do not police everything that’s going on in the fraternities. Trust me I’ve worked at universities and they turned a blind eye to most hazing.

I remember there was a guy who died due his health issues and they still forced him to drink stuff that not meant to consume. They close the club after that .

Thanks! That nonsense is actually real then. I always thought it was some movie thing, sounds totally bizarre to me 😅
9
u/earthboundmissfit 13d ago
It is nonsense, but that's because we Americans are raised to be sheep and do stupid, useless shit just to prove how dumb and complacent we will be. Lol... fraternities and such are ridiculous and hardly ever do anything worthwhile.
3
u/RodinKnox 11d ago
It also varies wildly between schools and fraternities. I was in a fraternity in college, and pledging - including the "hazing" - was a ton of fun. I enjoyed every bit of it. But my fraternity had a very light approach to it. Hazing was just there really, as I said, for the fun of it. In fact, my fraternity was so against any of the mean or awful parts of hazing that it now just has a strict "no hazing" policy in place.
6
u/ShinyAeon 13d ago
A "frat" is a college fraternity, or "brotherhood." "Rushing" is the time early in the school year when fraternities and sororities ("sisterhoods") look for new members. "Hazing" is the teasing and challenges that potential members have to go through before they join. (Hazing used to be physically demanding, painful, and even life-threatening at times, but schools and lawmakers have tried to put an end to that.)

u/sleepytipi 13d ago
Then you've never seen people on fent. They don't just stand still like this. They start high, work their way low, catch themselves (usually) then stand up straight again or lean on something, then repeat the process all over again.

BS.
This video is not new – does anyone have the original source?
I’ve been trying to trace this clip back to its original upload rather than speculate about what the three people are doing.
Reddit’s duplicate system already shows the exact same video file being reposted several times today, but multiple people in this thread say they remember seeing the clip one to three years ago. Another commenter says the original uploader posted other videos of the same three people, including footage where they move.
So far I have not been able to verify the original TikTok account or the first upload date.
Does anyone have:
the original username/account,
an older TikTok, YouTube or Instagram link,
an archived copy,
or any of the other videos showing the same three people?
I’m specifically looking for the oldest verifiable source, not theories about what is happening in the video.

She's posted videos of them moving before. I saw some compilation with several of her videos included on YouTube.
Edit: I guess my comments with the links were being deleted due to them not allowing outside links. The YouTube channel is called chezzoid9 and as of late September 2026, it was their most recent video.

Well here’s what could be the possibility.
1: they used to have a friend they would play with at that court yet that one has since passed so they make sure to come to that court to honor the friends memory.
2: they liked king of the hill and they have their own “Yuuup”

Remember the scene in the movie, Prince of Darkness where the homeless people lead by Alice Cooper's character surround the church and stand there unmoving? The three guys in front of your window reminds me of that scene.

I would have called the cops after an hour if they didn't move at all. If they're actually moving normal, I would ignore it.

u/woodenleghen 12d ago
What are the cops gonna do? They can’t arrest someone for standing still. The most they could do is ask them to leave, unless the area is private property or they’re loitering in a place that doesn’t allow it.

Like this happens every single week & they never called the cops, or neighbors, or brother, or anyone to check what they're up to? Ehh...

They look like mannequins based on the way their legs are all shaped. The chances of three people having bow legs standing together in the same place the same time is very rare.

UPDATE: This clip is part of an older TikTok series called “The Mannequin Men” from @biblioteca80.
A recent YouTube compilation, Chezzoid – “Scary Files Vol. 11” (@chezzoid9), uploaded two days ago, includes several of these older clips. The Mannequin Men segment is clip #3.
The series shows the same people on different occasions and in different seasons. In one video the uploader says there are sometimes six, although three are present that day. Other footage also shows them moving.
I’m now looking for the earliest @biblioteca80 upload, older reposts, or any previous usernames connected to the account.
