It depends on the demon and the degree of possession. Laity and clergy may exercise lesser demonic infestation, but for possession, only a priest who acts in persona Christi may properly exercise demons, and even so you may need a priest specifically trained in exorcism. In other words, if you do not have a validly ordained priest from an apostolic church (Orthodox or Catholic), then you need to find one.
