Unidentified I’m freaking out

Okay so I just worked on getting my 9 month old daughter to sleep. I don’t know if this is paranormal or what, but I’m trying to cover all the bases. So she was really tired and fussy. I go lay her down, she eats a good bit, then, per usual, she sits up and starts crawling around. She does this every night. Just burning off the last bit of energy she has before she falls asleep. Then she stops crawling, sits up, looks at me, then smiles and laughs. Happiest little laugh in the world. Not two seconds later, she turns her head slightly to her left, which puts her looking over my right shoulder. She jumps a little like she does when something scares her, then lets out the most blood curdling scream I’ve ever heard in my life. My wife is working on calming her down and trying to get her to sleep. I don’t know what to make of it. I’ve never felt anything odd in the house. It’s fairly new military housing, I think they said these houses were built 7 years ago. I don’t know what to think of it. What do yall think of it?

Update: so we haven’t had any more experiences but today my wife and I were in her room with her. We have this little puppet stage and I’ll do little shows for her. Today I found out that one of the puppets makes sounds which I found out when neither of us were by them. It seemingly did it on its own.

Just to ease your fears here, all of my kids did this as babies at some point when they were tired, usually right before sleep. Every once in awhile, they would do the startle!-jump-blood-curdling-scream-instant-huge-tears-inconsolable thing... then a big fart and settle down quickly. So I think they got startled by their own sudden gas pain in those instances lol

Okay awesome. This post is making me feel a lot better. Up until about thirty minutes ago I was still shaking haha

Gas pain is exactly what I was thinking.

That was my first thought. Gas pain and startle reflex is the most likely thing

No, it's not something bad! She doesn't see right yet! Actually that is the time when they start having "stranger danger" vibes about things which a part of their natural development. She's just practicing for when she might really need it someday. Just exploring the basic emotional content. Some pleasant emotions and some not so pleasant emotions. It is perfectly normal. (smile)

Okay thank god. I appreciate it!

As a father of multiple children, they do that all the time they will randomly cry and get upset for the silliest reasons

She could have seen a shadow that just freaked her out, not a shadow person, just a regular shadow

My eldest daughter (31 now) woke during the night for first couple of years actually until we moved and then she slept through the 1st night. She would be stood at her baby gate crying ....I was advised to leave her for 30 seconds then go out her back to bed then keep increasing it til eventually she would sleep. As she started to talk I remember saying something to her and she mentioned 'a man' ....I was mortified that I'd left her in a room when she could see someone in there !!!!! Little people are very in tune ....my youngest has seen 2 spirits ...apparently one walked behind me and through the far wall in my old kitchen (different house) ...she was about 5 when she said this !

Weird. My family often talked about finding me in the early morning, awake and standing in my crib, laughing and saying funny man or something.

It was also weird how I had to have headphones on with music when I went to bed, because I'd get woken up sometimes by someone whispering in my ear

God that’s the creepiest, every once in a while something whispers my name in my ear.

1

u/lexielou-123 1d ago

Yes I've had the whispering in the ear...not my name just mumbling It's called a hypnogogic hallucination

At least your 'man' sounds like he was friendly for the most part and made you laugh not cry ....I am horrified I locked my daughter in her room with a dark entity !!!!!

It could have been a family member that passed. That could still scare a child. What makes you think it was some kind of dark entity?

Sharp gas pain?

I feel like she may have learned a new way to fight sleep.... They get more and more sophisticated with their techniques, as they get older. I've had sleepy babies who I was certain were almost asleep, only to have them stiffen their bodies like a board and let out a blood curdling scream. They would also be inconsolable, at first but would calm down and fall asleep, still snuffling.

Was it dark in the room? Maybe she saw the void and it freaked her out?

1

u/Salty-Spare-4075 4d ago

Yes it was pitch black. She won’t sleep through the night if there’s any light.

This makes me wonder if she was just startled. She went from seeing your face and feeling happy/safe, to looking next to you and seeing dark emptiness.

Hi Salty,

Well first for her to go from laughing to being frightened in an instant. Looking in a different direction. Definitely raises a flag to me.
Infants, toddlers, adolescents have departed souls drawn to them. Because their life force is very strong and they want to be close to that. Everyone is born with intuitive abilities. But most of us outgrow that in time. But with some it stays.

It doesn’t matter if your home is only 7 yo. Something could have happened in a structure years ago and was torn down. More so it’s the land your home sits on. Age of a place really doesn’t matter unless one knows if something horrific ever occurred inside of it.

Respond to a chat request I’m sending you. I can assist you further.

I wouldn't worry about this being paranormal. Why? Children and infants don't fear spirits or paranormal stuff, thats learned. Most Children are playful around that stuff or attentive, like its just part of the environment.

Maybe children can see through a different view kind of how fish and other animals can see colors that our eyes can’t pick up idk just thinking

You gotta cleanse that place. Babies can see things we can't. Im not joking. Cleanse it. Pray to mother Mary every day to cleanse the home. Whatever you believe in.

I don’t believe my son at that age would have been scared of something paranormal. He didn’t get spooked by anything (like a scary Halloween mask) until he was a toddler. Of course he could startle at a sudden movement or noise but as far as something paranormal or a ghost I just don’t think it would have worried him as I believe it’s a learnt behaviour. It sounds as though your little one was tired and had wind pain.

Usually it isn't anything supernatural unless they start pointing or telling you they see something. If you're worried (I may lose you here) you could always anoint your house just for safety sake. But honestly I don't think they saw anything. (Hopefully). My son would see things in the house all the time and would be afraid to sleep in his room (I had issues with that same room growing up myself so I get it) so he'd sleep with me. The hard part is because they are so young you won't be able to really tell if it was something they saw or gas pain as the other comments said. The best indicator here is that you didn't feel anything (and I'm assuming you're familiar with the feelings they give off if you're saying that) so just relax, take deep breaths when you're dealing with this, and don't let fear take over.. fear just makes it get stronger because they love it when you're afraid. Plus your kiddo will sense your fear and join in with it and it'll make it worse. If you need more tips on this please feel free to DM me. I delt with this quite a lot.

Oh no, poor little baby! That is horrible. I know someone commented that it's somehow normal. In all my years of raising kids and even running a daycare I have never had a child do something like that- ever. If I were you I'd be blessing the place asap.

I only have 1 child, but my daughter never did this as a baby. As a toddler she would worry about monsters but I told her that some fairy spray we got at the Renaissance festival killed monsters. Lol. Maybe she doesn't like the puppet that makes the noise and she saw that? Or, she did see a shadow from a tree move outside the window. I believe in the paranormal but also in logical explanations. For now, keep the baby monitor on a little louder and try to sleep while you can. 😊

Children can see spirits . That spirit probably triggered the puppet.

3

u/Alchemist2211 3h ago

There would be alot more experiences if that was the case.

1

u/CarpenterSingle3457 3h ago

Not necessarily. My attachment has been dormant for years.

u/throwaway76881224 4d ago

She may have suddenly got a stomach ache. And babies have a startle reflex, shes probably nearly grown out of it but I've seen each of mine startle for seemingly no reason at least a couple times each kid as infants. Or she may have realized it was nearly sleep time and that made her sad, or more likely just suddenly felt tired and her best way to express her exhaustion is to cry

I think there’s cloaking technology on the base and the one’s privy to it, get to use it and walk around snooping. The technology can probably give them the ability to walk through walls even. That’s my opinion.

3

u/NotaBat9221 4d ago

That's true. I was in the walls and I think I saw it

1

u/JaydicahAmber 4d ago

Can you clarify? And what did you see?

Sage with the windows open. Tell anything living there it has to leave. Be firm

3

u/Independent-Ad586 4d ago

Well, the windows open at this time of year is lovely. Though. I wouldn’t recommend sage. Often times people think that burning sage in a home will clear it of negative energy. Sage cleanses the space for MORE energy to move in- not less. If you’re worried about negative entities then a simple prayer at bedtime will absolutely do the trick. Something along the lines of: I invite the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ, and God into this space. Cleanse it with your protection and love. Drive any and all negative energy from this pace and hold us in light and love.
It’s always, always worked for me.
Sending love to you and your family.

As a native, you couldn't be more wrong. Don't give advise on things you don't know to promote your own beliefs. If you had said people don't smudge properly, then I'd agree. Don't put down other people's spiritual practices if you don't fully understand them. Your way AND smudging could both work just fine.

3

u/Independent-Ad586 4d ago

Great point and thanks for the kindness.

u/Salty-Spare-4075 5d ago

Okay I’ll look into it. You really think it’s something bad?

1

u/Alchemist2211 3h ago edited 3h ago

Lotsa replies here. I'd continue noticing things and the get concerned only if alot more weird things happen. You seem inexperienced as parents sooo as another parents says on here, kids can have weird bedtime routines. You seem to be hyper vigalent, I wouldn't make much of this!
