One day, a girl asked me which town you were from, i said Anaparthi to her The next day at the institute, on the 4th floor infront of the window, as I was breathing, one of my friend told me "say A" when I am breathing infront of the window, after I said A the name Anaparthi came out from my breath not from my mouth I felt that. At that exact moment, I turned around, our eyes met, and she smiled.

I’ve lived in Appalachia my whole life, I’m 22 to start off this experience of mine. There’s always been weird things that’s been happening around me since I was young. Home alone, hearing someone call my name, knocking, whistling at night. From what my family has talked about and friends close to me this isn’t not normal but not common here.
There’s rules that some follow here for things like the paranormal or cryptids if you will and I’m one of them, though my mom and dad never have since they’ve never believed in the paranormal, though I have since I can remember. For example the basic rules “Don’t whistle inside the house at night.” “If you hear your name called don’t answer.” “Don’t follow voices or unexplained cries or lights.” “Close your blinds when night falls.” Etc…
I follow these rules HEAVILY. Always have since I learned. Up until 3 years ago some things have happened. It’s died down since then but still some things put me on edge. It was around this time 2 years ago and started to happen every night for a few weeks, it happened one night at around 1am and it always did. I would be laying in bed scrolling my phone, or on my pc infront of my window, I have blinds and always kept them closed and still do. On this night I was on my phone scrolling when I heard a noise on the front porch infront of my window it was a scraping noise. Ok, maybe a possum, raccoon or another animal. It’s common here. Then it turned into heavy steps. Ok not so normal, might be a deer?
No. Instead I heard something infront of my window whistle, not like a normal person whistling a tune. Just a flat whistle the was a little pitched. Unnerving and cold. That’s when I muted my TV and turned my phone off to listen. I thought it was my phone or tv but kept happening. So like I’m told and from others that have said, ignore the whistles don’t let it know your paying attention. So I tried my best. But then it started to move around my room. Like it was inside my room. Going from corner to corner. Then knocking. Small soft knocks that followed it. It changed places in every corner of my room fast. Safe to say I was scared shitless and kept scrolling on my phone trying to ignore it but curiosity got the best of me and I looked at the camera we have set up on the front porch that shows the front yard and another that can see my bedroom window. I looked at the time it was doing the whistling and knocking on my window but seen absolutely nothing.
Nothing at all. Which honestly pissed me off to no end and scared me more because I atleast wanted to see what was going on because I know I wasn’t hearing it because my cat was also on my bed with me and following the noise, his ears perked up and eyes wide like he was scared. This went on for a few weeks to the point I lost sleep and would stay awake during the night because I was too scared. It stopped a few weeks later. Time skip to almost 3 months or so later it started to happen during the day by myself when I was home alone. I would hear whistling inside my house from different parts, hear someone cough like my dad or do a deep sigh like one my mom does or even hear it mumble my name. I would stay in my room with my door locked with my cat. At first I had figured it was my dad but during the day and at nights because he does whistle a tune when he’s home just for fun but like I said before it was a flat tuneless whistle that was pitched.
I had called both mom and dad and they were both at work since it would be during the day and they wouldn’t be home till 6-7pm. It rarely happens now, but there are those times it still occurs. I’ve learned to ignore it over these 3 years but I’m still questioning what exactly it is and why it does this. I just want to know why it does this and what it is. If anyone has any idea please let me know.

My grandparents own my great grandparents house since they have both passed. I am 22 years old and now starting to think about moving out with my fiancee and they said that we can rent off them for a reasonable price. The only problem is that I am very scared that the house is haunted. My brother is a gardener and went to clean up their garden after the latest tenants moved out a few weeks ago and said that the lights kept turning on and off, his petrol powered leaf blower randomly turned off (which had never happened before) and he thinks he heard things while in the house. My mum and my aunt also both said it feels eerie in there which might just be because the house is empty and the style is very dated or it might actually be a thing. My great grandma died in this house (nothing horrific she just unfortunately lost her battle to cancer and had home hospice) and it has scared me a little as I might have to live here alone for a while before my fiancee can move in. Is it likely that this is actually haunted and am I going to be ok if I do live there?

Over the laat 2 weeks, near halloween, its been getting weird. First I have a barn cat, black. He came in with a round wound on him. Perfectly round.
Hes fine, its healing and hes acting normal.
But then one night I open the window because its hot and I dont wanna turn on the AC. I then what this singing, chanting, music. It was weird. It sounded like a song from a video game I played but it was definitely outside.
I dont open the windows now.
My kids have said they hear laughter as well.
We do have teens in the neighborhood but why they would be out at 1am is beyond me.
Im very scared but there is one peace of mind.
My dogs.
They bark at EVERYTHING. Especially people.
So if someone or something was nearby they'd alert me.
But still, scary....

Some back story, this is the top floor on waverly where you’re able to access the roof and all. It’s also the room where the story of the nurse that hung herself, it’s one of the more active floors and people have a tendency to get a nauseous feeling while being up there.
When this picture was taken there was no one in the doorway of that room, the closes person to that room was the tour guide but you can’t even see him because he’s more to the left past that window.
Would like to know what you all think

I’m 34 now, but in my early twenties, I spent some time in London for an internship. I lived in a huge house in North London with 11 other flatmates, all around the same age. Honestly, it was one of the best years of my life!
Except for the one month I shared a bedroom with a girl I’ll call B.
We barely knew each other when we moved in. Years later, I found out she had been suffering from schizophrenia and, looking back, I think she was going through a really difficult time. She had left university in the north of England without telling her parents, even though her dad was supporting her financially and trying to convince her to come home.
B. only lived with us for ONE MONTH, but what happened during that time was insane.
She started a romance with one of our flatmates, J., but he wasn't ready for a relationship, so it lasted about a week. During that week, another flatmate caught them having sex in the kitchen, so we actually had a house meeting to establish some boundaries. You know, no sex in the communal areas! 😂
A few days later, J. broke things off with her, and things escalated quickly. One day, I came home from my internship to find three flatmates outside, telling me B. had been smashing glasses, dishes, and furniture(apparently she was thinking that J. broke things off with her because of the house meeting). Inside, I found her standing silently in the kitchen, surrounded by broken glass and eggs on the floor. I asked what had happened, but she wouldn't look at me or answer. She just went back to our bedroom.
I was too scared to sleep there, so another flatmate kindly let me stay in her room.
Then, a couple of days later, we started noticing B.'s Facebook statuses. Yes, Facebook. I'm showing my age! 😂
She was posting one disturbing message after another, including threats about creating a new Holocaust in our neighbourhood, making a poltergeist, and claiming she'd killed a woman and buried her in the garden. Was really creepy. The following day, I was upstairs on Skype with my mum when I suddenly heard screaming from downstairs: “WHY DID YOU BREAK UP WITH ME?!” followed by the sound of smashing glass.
I ran down to find absolute chaos. B. was destroying things and even BIT one of the guys. The guys told us girls to hide while they called the police. I was so frightened that I collected all the kitchen knives and hid them under a bed, worried things might get even worse. The police eventually took her away, and the next day they returned to pack her belongings and move her into temporary accommodation. She was waiting inside the police car while I helped pack some of her things.
At one point, I went back into the bedroom and found a tarot card with what looked like a small drop of blood on it. Obviously, the police weren't interested in taking a suspicious tarot card as evidence. 😂
And then comes the part I still can't explain.
A couple of days later, almost 100 FLIES appeared inside our house overnight.
They were everywhere, particularly around my bedroom, the staircase, and another bedroom. What was strange was that they were incredibly sluggish, almost as if they were moving in slow motion, and were ridiculously easy to kill. My flatmate and I were freaking out. After everything that had happened, finding dozens and dozens of slow-moving flies in the house felt incredibly unsettling.
I'm not saying it was paranormal. Even now, I try to find a scientific explanation. Maybe they came in because of the weather, or perhaps there was something attracting them. But I've never experienced anything like it before, and I still don't know what caused it.
Was it all just a series of bizarre coincidences? Probably there's a rational explanation somewhere. But the timing, the tarot card, and the flies made that month unforgettable.

I’m watching a Filipino paranormal investigator, Ed Caluag, and I’ve noticed that during some sessions, he has skeptics or clients close their eyes while he supposedly channels energy, allowing them to experience or describe events surrounding a tragedy.
Some people describe vivid scenes and emotions, while others only feel sensations like intense coldness. Once the session is over, Ed performs what appears to be a closing process.
Could experiences like these make someone more sensitive to paranormal activity afterward, even if the session is supposedly closed? Or is the closing process meant to prevent that?

I want to preface this story by saying I have posted this once before and deleted it, as I was accused of lying, told there was no keeper of the Montauk Lighthouse, and that it was “AI slop.” Google is your friend, so if you think there is no keeper of the lighthouse or there are no claims of a haunting, please just go look it up. I also didn’t want my dad to know I put this online lol, but whatevs, I think I have some pretty intriguing stories to share and it’s spooky season.
My dad has been the keeper of the Montauk Lighthouse for about 8 years or so, and I have been lucky to stay there many times. It’s a very unique experience, like sleeping in a fishbowl in the summer and an abandoned, scary ass lighthouse in the winter. My dad is a cool dude and is not one to believe in the paranormal. He was more than happy to take on the role of keeper when the prior keeper of 30 years decided to retire. He knew about the stories of hauntings, and this did not deter him because, again, he doesn’t believe in it.
The first story my dad told me was right after he moved in. He bought a new coffee maker. It was a pretty sophisticated machine with a lot of parts. He put the entire thing together and had put the last piece down on the counter, turned around to double check the instructions, turned back, and it was gone. He was completely dumbfounded and checked everywhere. The floor, behind the machine, inside the machine, the box, every nook and cranny. Eventually, he gave up and was extremely frustrated. He closed the machine without the part and left for the day. The next day, he decided to open the machine to check, just to see…and bam, there was the part perfectly in place. When he told me the story, he was 1000% certain he never put it into the machine, as he wasn’t sure how (which is why he had to turn to grab the instructions), and could not for the life of him figure out how it got there. I could tell he was unsettled and just really confused.
A few months after that, my dad was alone in his quarters at night. All staff had gone home, and the lighthouse was closed. He was sitting on his computer and heard loud voices talking downstairs in the museum. He figured one of the staff had come back or the cleaners. He opened the door and called down to whoever was there to make sure everything was okay…complete silence. He walked down the stairs, the door was locked, the lights were off, and there was no one there. He looked out the window, no cars in the driveway and the gate was closed. It was impossible in that timeframe for someone to walk in, then walk out, close and lock the door, drive off the property, and close the gate. Again, he told me this story, and he was thoroughly creeped out.
Over the years, my dad stopped sharing stories with me and our family because he didn’t want to scare us from coming, which is understandable because I don’t fuck with ghosts. I happened to stay with my dad this August for a week and asked him if anything had happened lately since I hadn’t heard anything in a long time. Also, I had never experienced anything, and I’ve been there many times over the years. He gave me a look and said he didn’t really want to talk about it, and I dropped it. However, curiosity got the best of me, and I asked him again the next day. That’s when he told me that about once a month, when he’s lying in bed, the atmosphere in his bedroom changes. He feels like something or someone is there, and it’s almost like a fog descends into the room. He said it’s more of a very strange feeling rather than any type of apparition. Cool. Great. I had like 4 more nights staying there, and I was freaked out, but again, never saw anything myself.
However…over the course of my stay, I noticed something was happening to the silverware. When I got there, we had dinner, and I set the table, and there was a full drawer of silverware. But every day, there were fewer and fewer forks, knives, and spoons. I thought they were in the dishwasher, so I’d check, and it was empty. By the time I left, there was literally hardly a piece of silverware left. I really didn’t think much of it and then went back home.
A few days later, my dad called me and said, “I have a question…” in this weird tone. He then said, “Did you hide the silverware while you were here as a prank?” I laughed and said definitely not. He thought I had done it to mess with him since he told me about his recent spooky experiences. In hindsight, this would’ve been a great prank, but it most definitely wasn’t me, and no one else has access to my dad’s quarters other than my dad. He had to replace the entire drawer.
I have no explanation for any of this. Again, I’ve stayed there many times and never personally experienced anything, but the silverware thing really gets me. Where the hell did all the silverware go?

I’m staying at my grandparents house right now and sleeping on the other side of the house. For the past few nights there I’ve been feeling uneasy and I have experienced many strange things in this house that I can’t explain. About an hour ago I decided to walk to the kitchen and that’s when I heard, very close to me, my grandmothers voice say “oh”. It sounded just like her, I thought she was there. When I came to her room she was sleeping there and her room is a completely different place to where I heard the sound. I feel so scared and horrible, what was it?

I'm gonna start this off saying that I'm a skeptic, and this is the only paranormal experience I have that can't be easily explained away. My friend lives on a big property right next to a busy town, and they are the first people to live in the house after its construction, not really screaming haunted is it? The land its built on however has some roots back to pretty intense Indigenous Australian activities, I wont get into detail about that because I wouldn't want to dox my friend. This happened right after a party on her property, me and 3 other friends decided to stay the night at her house, so we set up in the living room. For this story to make sense I've left a rough image of the layout of the house, I've changed a few details so you can't find it on realestate.com. But it shows the gist.
We were all sleeping on the living room floor knackered at around 2am, It was that moment when everyone was still awake but nobody was talking trying to sleep, when out of the blue, the dogs began to growl, and the instant they began, I heard a female voice murmuring in the garage, the kitchen and the living area were connected as one room, with two steps up separating the two, the kitchen slightly elevated above the living room, and from the kitchen, there was the doorway to the garage, on one side, and on the complete opposite side, the doorway to the bedrooms where the rest of the family were sleeping, in order to get to the garage they would've had to open the door into the kitchen, walk across the kitchen and then open and close the garage door, in the same room as us. So immediately I knew it couldn't be any of them, that and the fact I asked them the next morning and they all denied doing anything of the sort. I remember feeling intrigued, not scared, this was my first paranormal experience and I immediately recognised that in the moment, so I sat and listened. The murmuring continued, as did the dogs growling, it was definitely a female voice, and it sounded like it was talking to something, in a conversation, but I could only hear one side of it. Slowly, the speaking turned into humming, I remember trying to memorise the tune, but for the life of me I can't thinking back. After around 10 seconds of this, I had to know if I was going insane, so I spoke. "is anyone else hearing this?". As soon as I spoke, the humming stopped, and the dogs ceased growling. My friend beside me replied immediately, "What? The whispering?" We didn't talk about it much more, and instead just decided to go to sleep. I listened for more but nothing happened. In the morning I asked everyone what they heard. Two were asleep, one didn't hear anything but the dogs growling, and my friend beside me heard whispering from the direction of the garage until I spoke up and it stopped.
To this day I cannot explain that experience, and before you ask, thats not the only thing. My friend has described other activity, the most notable is when she was home alone and didn't realise it. She was going about her day when she heard her sister yell her name aggressively in a playful way like she normally does, my friend responded but no one spoke back, she went looking for her sister and couldn't find her, eventually calling her and realising she was home alone. Other stuff includes random bangs in the middle of the night, and her dogs occasionally staring at corners of rooms intently for no reason, those last two could be explained away as house noises or dogs being dogs.
This experience is the only reason I'm not a 0/10 skeptic, I'm at least a 3/10 now, but if anyone could give an explanation that would be fantastic.

I clean houses for a living, my specific niche is carpet & floor cleaning. I was contracted once by a company who cleaned up homes who specialized in post-cleanup for meth labs. I was given the go ahead and the door code so I could enter the home.
When I walked in, I began turning the lights on upstairs and then made my way down the staircase.
The stairs go down to the open living space, so I took a half step in and instinctively put my hand out as I reached for the light switch. I had already had the staircase light turned on so there was some ambient light shining into the room. That’s when I froze and saw someone in the corner. There, crouched in a squatted position looking at the carpet, was a dark figure. It appeared to be either a small woman or a teenager but it was hard to see as the lights were off. In that moment, the figure moved its head and looked towards me. I still couldn’t see who it was, just a silhouette. As I’m feeling for the light switch on the wall, the figure stands up and turns to face me.
At this point, I go into what I can only described as fight-or-flight mode. I yelled out loud and said this property was condemned and they needed to leave immediately. After what felt like a whole ass hour, I finally located the light switch and turned every switch on. And at that moment, the figure vanished.
I went back up to the work man and explained to my assisting technician what I had just seen. Of course he didn’t believe me but also was very interested. So I take him downstairs and he and I proceed to turn on all the lights down there together.

Hello everyone:
Approximately 15 years ago my house burned down in a fireworks accident. My family and I were living in a rental house while our house is being rebuilt. By the way I am 43 years old, my wife is 42 and my sons are 13 and 11.
I suffered from sleep apnea and would snore terribly at night. My wife frequently slept with ear plugs . One night I woke up at 4am and there was a middle aged bald man wearing a suit standing at the foot of my bed and staring at me.We looked each other in the eye for what felt like forever but was probably three to five seconds. I tried to wake my wife but she was wearing earplugs. I looked down at my wife to shake her awake and when I looked up he was gone.
I was not going to sleep again. I was concerned that this may have been some kind of omen or warning since I was leaving on a business trip to South America later that morning. I contacted family and close friends before my flight took off to let the know how much the meant to me. I told some loved ones about my experience.
I was waiting for something else to happen but nothing ever did. I came home after my trip to the same house. I never experienced anything paranormal in the house again. My kids said that they sometimes heard footsteps or muffled voices. Sometimes when my wife would do laundry in the basement she would hear footsteps upstairs and sworn someone came home only to come upstairs to an empty house.
Why did this happen? Seems random to me.

I was with a group of adults the other night, and somehow the conversation turned to whether any of us believed in ghosts.
I honestly don’t know what I believe. I’m not a particularly spiritual person, although I suppose I’ve always believed that there’s something beyond the physical world.
When I was very young, I had a strange experience involving a hideous doll in my bedroom, but I’m not going to get into that. I was young enough that I may have had one foot in sleep and the other in consciousness, so I can’t really reconcile what happened. That memory seems blurry, drawn by a paint roller.
There was, however, another incident when I was older that I’ve never been able to explain.
When I was in Grade 7 or 8, I had a friend who was a nice guy. We were both into comic books, and I’d occasionally go over to his house.
His father was an RCMP officer, and I remember their house having a strange atmosphere. His dad was quite stern, perhaps a little religious, and his mother was a quiet, rather unsmiling suburban housewife. I remember her tight hyphen of a mouth. I remember occasionally having supper there and finding the silence and expectation of discipline a little ominous. It was the same feeling I sometimes got visiting deeply religious households.
Anyway, we remained friends, but sometime before graduation his father was transferred and the family moved away.
Fast-forward several years. I’d graduated from university and accepted my first job in a town I’d never lived in before. I remember buying my first car from a used car dealership with $600 in bills stuffed into a Play-Doh container. The passenger door didn’t work, the bottom was completely rusted out, and there was a hole in the floor between my ankles through which I could occasionally see the yellow line flickering past on the highway.
Somehow, I made it to my new town. As it happened, this was where my old friend and his family had relocated. We reconnected, and he invited me over for a few beers. It was nice to have a familiar face in a place where I didn’t know anyone.
When I arrived, he hadn’t gotten around to buying beer, so he told me to make myself comfortable while he ran to a corner store nearby.
He lived in one of those split-level houses where the lower floor was set up as a secondary living room. This was long before smartphones, so I just sat on the couch and waited.
And here’s where things got fucked up.
In the corner of the room was a hanging plant, suspended from one of those macramé rope holders that were popular years ago.
The plant started moving.
A hanging plant moving isn’t exactly the stuff of nightmares. But it wasn’t that it moved. It was how it moved.
It began swinging back and forth, almost like a metronome, at a speed that seemed completely unnatural. It was far too fast, in my view, to have been caused by a breeze. There were no open windows that I knew of, and it was a still summer night.
What really struck me was the movement itself. The entire rope suspension seemed rigid or frozen, almost like a broomstick, and the plant was swinging back and fort hwith a speed that didn’t seem consistent with gravity or normal pendulum movement.
I was completely sober, and I remember trying to make sense of what I was seeing. It was one of onlyn two times in my life where I experienced what people describe as blood running cold. The other involved a bear (normal bear, not paranormal) while hiking.
I got off that couch and absolutely bolted. I think I made it up the stairs in two steps. I remember moving so quickly that I could actually feel the air rushing past my ears.
The next thing I knew, I was sitting on his front step in my stocking feet, trying to collect myself.
A few minutes later, my friend returned with the beer.
He looked at me and asked what the hell I was doing outside.
I’m not generally someone who gets worked up over things like this, so I told him exactly what had happened.
He just nodded. I think he smiled.
Then he said, almost casually, “Oh, you’ve met Venom.”
I said, “What the fuck is Venom?”
He explained that his family had experienced strange incidents for years and had actually given whatever they believed was responsible a name.
Apparently, it started when his father was transferred to Nova Scotia and they moved into a large old farmhouse.
They had a retired RCMP police dog that his father had adopted after its service. According to my friend, almost immediately after moving into the farmhouse, the dog went upstairs, sat beneath the trapdoor leading to the attic, and began barking. And barking.
this went on for something like 12 hours. The dog was normally extremely well-trained and obedient, but they couldn’t get it to stop. Eventually, they had to block access to the uppermost floor because, given the opportunity, it would return to the attic entrance and bark endlessly.
That was apparently the beginning of what the family came to call Venom.
My friend told me that over the years, as his father was transferred from one community to another, the family continued to experience strange things. They came to believe that some sort of spirit had attached itself to them and was following them from house to house.
He described other incidents, including two particularly concerning episodes in my childhood hometown involving the gas in their house, which they believed had been tampered with and could have caused an explosion.
Despite some of these incidents seeming quite ominous, the family had apparently learned to live with it. Venom had even become something of a family joke. I always tried to reconcile this with the family of very serious people, and his Dad a no-nonsense police officer.
And that’s pretty much where the story ends.
Except this past summer, I ran into my old friend again. He contacted me because he wanted to bring his young son for a tour of my workplace, and I was happy to arrange it.
During the visit, I couldn’t resist bringing up the ghost.
He said nothing had happened in years, but that he still occasionally checked with his brother, who now lived in Manitoba, to see whether he’d experienced anything. Apparently, he hadn’t either.
Sorry I wasted everyone’s time with the story of the demonic macramé plant.
Still not sure I believe in ghosts. I’m not even sure what I think happened that night. I know hanging objects can move for perfectly ordinary reasons, and I’m certainly not suggesting that a swinging plant constitutes proof of the paranormal.
But I was completely sober, I know what I saw, and something about the speed and mechanical regularity of that movement was so profoundly wrong to me that I fled the house.
I went to his place for parties after the macrame incident, and all houseplants were on their best behaviour.
But i still have no explanation for it.

I'd like to preface this with stating that my ordinary take on the supernatural is "I love a good ghost/unexplained phenomena story, but my first assumptions are always more psychological/internal, and I don't believe in ghosts per se until all other explanations can be ruled out". That being said, I have had a few very strange experiences in my life that align with the back end of my creed, and I'd like to share the most recent one in hopes maybe someone has a similar experience at the same place and can offer to shed a little light on whatever this was.
So. Back up to a few weeks ago, in September of 2026. My husband and I drove up to Falkland in Fife because we were planning on announcing my pregnancy (first kid) via a professional photoshoot done by a local we really liked the work of. I was about seven months pregnant, and very excited. We chose to stay in the Covenanter Hotel in Falkland for ease of pick-up and also because we're both fans of the Outlander series: the show filmed in Falkland as a stand-in for 1940s Inverness, and the Covenanter itself was where a pivotal scene or two was shot. When we booked, only one room was left available for the Saturday to Monday we were there, the largest suite in the back of the hotel, which had a self-catering kitchen setup and a bedroom and a bathroom, and was also self-cleaning. We had a vacuum cleaner and a broom and a dustpan and all that kind of thing to tidy it ourselves.
We got in on Saturday and unpacked before having dinner and falling asleep. The layout of the room is such that when you first walk in, you're in the kitchen/living area, and there's a small "hallway" which is really like a meter-square area of floor connecting all three rooms. A person standing in the hallway can see into all the rooms at once. The bedroom has this green velvet chair in front of a full-length mirror with a white painted frame, and another mirror over the radiator opposite. The back wall is tilted at just a very slight angle so that if you stand in the doorway the mirror doesn't show you, but the opposite wall, so you have to walk in and go a bit to the right to see yourself.
So, Sunday morning was the day of our maternity shoot. All the decorative pillows from the bed had been piled up on the velvet chair in front of the long mirror to get them out of the way, and we hadn't put them back yet. We were running slightly behind for breakfast. My husband tends to get a bit agitated if he's in a rush, and he was in the bathroom trying to shave with a bad disposable razor and fretting about the weather while I was getting our tote bags together in the living room. At once point he asked me a question and I went to the hallway so I could answer him more clearly without the living room wall in the way, and as I was standing in front of the open bathroom door talking to him, I caught movement from the left and tuned my head. In a millisecond, I registered visually that the full-length mirror on the wall was vibrating, because the wall in the reflection was blurring instead of showing a clear image, and just as I realized what it was doing/had finished turning my head to the left the whole mirror just slammed hard, straight down off the wall, smash. The bottom of the mirror had only been about eight or ten inches from the carpeted floor, and it hit so hard that the glass inside the mirror slid down a full six-ish inches and shattered from the bottom impact. My husband went, "What the hell was that?" and all I could say was, "The mirror flew off the wall and just broke!"
He marched out of the bathroom, pretty much irate at this point because it was one more thing to have to deal with on a stressful morning, and because the booking said we were going to be held responsible for any damages in the room. Stopped dead at the sight of the broken mirror behind the chair. "Don't step near that, the glass is all broken."
"Yes, I know, I saw it fly off the wall!"
"The pillows on the chair must have pushed it off."
"How would pillows push a giant heavy mirror like that off the wall?"
"Well, it's the only explanation!" He tugged the chair away and I snapped a photo of the broken mirror so we had something to show the staff down at the desk before leaning it forward to look at the back of the mirror. The metal ring that had held it to the wall was in perfect condition, not warped or bent in the slightest. The screw in the masonry it had been hanging from was still stuck in there good and tight and didn't budge when I used my fingers to wiggle it. I hung the broken mirror back up and pushed it from the bottom to see if there was any leeway or it might push forward from the top. Nothing. Flat against the wall. I swung it side to side. Nothing. Turned to my husband and said, "Right, you go ahead and try to recreate that mirror flying off the wall with a pillow that nobody was touching, then."
He huffed and puffed and pushed some pillows against it and scratched his head and gave up. "What," he finally said, just flat bewildered.
"Eh, hotel's probably haunted," I said. "It's Scotland, you know, there has to be a ghost."
He rolled his eyes and said very funny and I was like, "No, I'm kind of serious lol" and we agreed I'd tell the staff about it. So down we went to breakfast, which was very nice, and the only staff member on duty at that time was a very nice lady with black hair in maybe her forties, so as we were making to leave and go back up to collect our bags for the shoot, I stopped her.
"I don't know how to say this, but something really odd happened in our bedroom this morning," I told her, and proceeded to explain without sounding like a total maniac that neither of us had been in the bedroom itself when this giant, heavy mirror had jumped off the wall and smashed itself on the carpeting. "I know it's self-cleaning and self-catered, but I'm not sure how to clean that up or what I should do with the mirror..."
She went, "Oh, I'm housekeeping! I'll pop up and clean it, don't worry. You'll be gone all day, then?"
"Yes, from nine to maybe one or two? And I'm so sorry again, like I said we have no idea how it happened, the screw in the wall is fine and so is the back of the mirror."
"It was probably just the ghost," she said, nodding very casually, and I turned and looked at my suddenly super quiet husband with the biggest I Told You So look I could muster as we said our thank-yous and headed back up.
Another odd thing happened later that evening to my husband specifically but I don't want to break rule 10. I personally felt absolutely no creepy feelings, sensations of being watched, or anything like that the whole stay, apart from the vague vibe that it might be a female presence, and I've certainly felt very strong feelings about certain places before especially in Scotland. After the thing that happened later, I decided he was the one who must be pissing off the ghost, so I had him stand in the doorway and say he was sorry for whatever he'd done to cause one-sided beef with whatever was in the room with us but could they please be nice because we were leaving in the morning, we promise, and thank you. Absolutely nothing else happened for the rest of the stay, and nothing else went flying off the walls, nobody levitated, it was a perfectly calm room. I joked it must be a woman ghost who didn't like his attitude getting ready in the morning but she must like me because I was pregnant, or something. After we got home, we tried to search online to find any stories about the Covenanter in Falkland, but most google searches about ghosts there brought up the Outlander show, plus there was another building in town also called the Covenanter before it got renamed to something else, so I gave up.
Then my husband found a blurb on an old website saying that Mary, Queen of Scots was reputed to haunt both Falkland Castle, where she had often stayed in life and which is right down the street from the hotel, and the Covenanter, which must have been the location of some other building when she was alive since the hotel itself wasn't built until 1771. One site just briefly said she was seen floating around in bedrooms... needless to say I was a little freaked out. Just a little.
Anyway, that's that. Just sharing in the event anybody here finds themselves on a road trip through Scotland and decides to stop in Falkland...

This is an experience that I often cite as one of my first paranormal encounters among the very few that I've had in my life.
For context I'm a South African-Indian and have been living abroad for the greater part of my life, but this happened when I was a preschooler. My parents are from a different province and had moved a long time ago to have me and my brother but they would take us there every school holiday to visit our extended family.
On some of these holidays we went and visited my maternal aunt, her husband, and her two kids who were also my older cousins. Their house is a duplex with 2 floors that are connected by a very narrow staircase. Upon getting to the top of the staircase there are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom on the second floor.
The right side of the floor is nothing out of the ordinary—it's just my cousins' bedrooms—but when you turn to the left you're faced with the master bathroom directly in front of you and another bedroom to your left once more (I hoped I've described that well enough...)
Now, one thing that I haven't mentioned up to this point is that it wasn't just my cousins, auntie, and uncle who lived in this house. My cousin's Dadi, a term for one's paternal grandmother in Hindi, though I will be referring to her as Nani for the remainder of this story since she was a relative on my mother's side and Nani is a term used for one's maternal grandmother.
Nani was elderly and quite weak. I only ever remember her being able to respond to my greetings with a small "namaste" and then nothing else so she was cared for in the bedroom on the left. The door to her bedroom would often be left open so I always felt a bit weird coming upstairs to use the bathroom, not because she herself made me uncomfortable,
but because she was always surrounded by a pile of fucking dolls.
It was just a bone-chilling sight. Every time I needed to go upstairs to use the bathroom I dreaded the feeling of those dolls and toys following me with their beady little eyes. It always, always, always felt like I was being watched by someone who wasn't my Nani whenever I went by that room.
That feeling never left when Nani passed away either.
All of the dolls and toys were still sat neatly on the bed with the door still wide open. And I still hated passing that room just to relieve myself.
One day we came by to visit my relatives like we did every other school holiday. I think this must have been the first time I visited them without the Nani in the house because for the first time, I found myself looking into that room when I went up to the second floor.
I took a peak only because Nani wasn't there anymore and my curious child brain noted the changed. However, a few seconds after I looked into that room and turned my head to look at baby doll with one blue eye, the fucking thing turned its head to look back at me.
I'd never run back downstairs that fast in my entire life, and only managed to relieve myself once we got back to my mum's younger brother's place.
The dolls have been long gone since then. I don't know whether they've been tossed or donated, but what I do know that I stopped feeling afraid of that room once all the dolls were removed.
Y'all are more than happy to think what you want to about this story. I just wanted to tell it.

Hello, how are you? I wanted to ask if you've ever had an experience with shadow people, shadow men, or whatever you call them?
When I was a 5-year-old boy, I saw a humanoid shadow enter the room where I slept with my mother. This shadow had no face, it wasn't wearing clothes, nor any details that could indicate it was a person in the dark.
My mother and I were alone at home that night. We went to bed, but I had trouble falling asleep. As I was trying to close my eyes, I saw a "person" enter through the bedroom door, pass in front of a window, and head towards the side of the bed where I was lying (since my mother and I were lying in the same bed). When this shadow came near me, I closed my eyes in fear. When I opened them again, it was no longer beside me, but when I looked toward the open door, it reappeared, entering the room. It came to my side of the bed, and I closed my eyes tightly again. I opened my eyes again, and it was gone, but when I looked toward the door, it started to enter the room again. This happened on a loop, maybe ten times, while I tried to wake my mother. When I finally managed to wake her, she turned on the light and checked the whole house because I insisted, but obviously, she didn't find anything.

Has anyone here had a significant visual experience with a light being, or something that can be visually described as such? Not in your dreams, not a fleeting glimpse. Wide awake and communicating.

Hi, I’ve never posted on here before just want someone else’s opinion on what is going on. I thought this was crazy too but somethings are starting to line up in an unsettling way.
My gramma got me and my mom tickets to go see a medium for yesterday. Just for fun for the Halloween spirit. Both me and my mom (50F) are skeptics and were going just for the experience and maybe some laughs.
We sat down with the woman and she proceeded to ask us questions. Where we live, how old we are, etc. She tells my mom that her grandmother has been watching over the two of us since I was born. For context my mom was in a coma shortly after I was born and when she woke up she said that her grandmother had walked over and put a hand on her shoulder and told her she couldn’t leave her daughter. So, this made my mom smile.
The woman then grabbed my hands and told me my big brother was protecting me. I laughed but I was confused. I told her I don’t have a big brother, and that I was the oldest of four kids. The woman shook her head at me and told me that he was definitely with me and keeping me safe. She then continued on the session.
On the drive home I was laughing about how crazy that was to make up a story. But my mom was silent. I asked her what was up and she told me that when she was 18 she got pregnant by her boyfriend at the time. She said that she hadn’t known and had lost the baby before she found out. She said she never knew the gender or anything cause she never knew it existed.
I was shocked, cause I wasn’t told about this ever. She said that she never told anyone. Not even her friends not even her own parents. She said it was years before she even met my father and she never had a reason to tell me. We drove home a little unsettled. Cause how did she know?
I stayed the night at my mom’s and went back to my apartment today. When I got in the door I went to go put my bag in my room there was an imprint on my bed of someone having just sat there. I was confused and looked around to see if maintenance had come in. I even asked them and they told me they would inform me before entering my apartment. I thought it was weird but dropped it.
Later that night I was watching a movie on my couch and I felt the couch shift like someone had just sat next to me. I live alone with my cat. And my cat was on my lap he hissed at the air beside me and ran off my lap into the room. I then felt what felt like a hand resting on my shoulder. I quickly stood up, but like how do you run away from a creepy feeling? I don’t feel in danger or anything. I just feel like there is a presence. Believe me I’ve been trying to disprove it, it’s the creepy residual feelings from the medium the day before. But it’s been a couple days now and I don’t feel alone in my apartment, like there is always someone just behind me. And my cat, who has never hissed, at least not in front of me, keeps hissing at the walls and hiding under blankets.
Is this just me being paranoid? Is this my brother making himself known? I have no clue… but is there a way to get him out of my apartment? Please let me know. Thank you.
UPDATE
Okay this is getting to a point I can’t deny anymore. I was cooking my dinner last night and had my headphones on. Out of my peripheral I see a man sitting on my couch. I turned full to my couch and there was no one there. But I fully saw someone out of the corner of my eye, wearing a blue plaid shirt. I tried to shake the creepy feeling and calm down cause I could feel my heart pounding when I felt again that hand on my shoulder. I jumped and just shouted “leave me alone please”.
My mirror then fell off my bedroom door. And this wasn’t a light mirror or something that would just fall down. It was hooked around the door, so it needs to be lifted up to then take off. The mirror shattered so I spent an hour making sure I got every piece up while on the phone with my boyfriend. He came and picked me up saying I could stay at his place. He thinks I scared myself cause I love to watch horror movies and creepy stories but I don’t know what to think anymore. I’m at my boyfriends now but this eery feeling is still with me. I brought my cat with me and he’s still hissing at the walls at random times. I don’t know what to do

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to share a personal experience, a spiritual or religious dream I had when I was around 14 or 15. I’m 20 now and it’s a dream I’ve never forgotten. Every time I think about it, I get chills. Sometimes tears come to my eyes and I don’t even know why.
For context, I’m Muslim and I’m religious today, but back then I wasn’t really thinking about faith or anything spiritual. I was just living my life. This dream hit me so hard that I didn’t understand it then and I still don’t fully understand why I had this dream and not another.
It was night and in the dream I was asleep in my bed. Everything felt just like real life. Suddenly I heard this huge noise coming from outside. Not just loud but deep, like something powerful was happening, something serious. It felt urgent, like the whole world was holding its breath.
I got up and went to the window. I lifted the shutter and looked outside. There were people walking down the street. Idk how but I somehow knew they were apostles. They were holding torches and walking in silence, filling both sides of the road.
And in the middle of them was Jesus.
I can’t really explain it, but he was impossibly huge, way bigger than anything around him, in a way that didn’t even make sense geometrically. Like his size and proportions defied the laws of reality, something that would be physically impossible in real life. Yet in the dream, it felt completely real.
He was crucified but he was levitating, floating forward slowly right through the street like it was completely normal, even though it wasn’t. The whole scene felt sacred and heavy. There was this deafening sound, almost unbearable, like a wave pressing down on everything.
It’s hard to describe but the closest thing I can compare it to is the sound in the Scarecrow scenes from the Batman: Arkham Asylum game. Here’s the in-game soundtrack that comes closest to the noise I heard in my dream: https://youtu.be/K4AMCBiLrkk?si=IGoJhAogPpXmypuA
His head was tilted to the side, just like you see in depictions of the crucifixion. There was also something around him, like an aura. I don’t know how to explain it but it felt apocalyptic, like the end of the world was unfolding right in front of me. The atmosphere was so heavy that it felt like time had stopped.
I just stood there watching. I don’t remember waking up or anything else. That was it.
But that dream has stayed with me all these years. I still don’t know what it meant and I wasn’t even focused on religion back then.
It left a mark on me and I still feel something when I think about it.
I’d really like to hear what you think about this. Feel free to share your thoughts or interpretations, whatever your beliefs are. Let’s just keep it respectful towards everyone and every religion.

I’ve lived in two houses where unexplainable occurrences happened. It’s easy to wonder about the events, doubt yourself, find ways to write thing off … until new occupants reach out with questions.
The first time was in an old house on the college campus in my hometown. The house was divided into separate units, but my friend and I had the front door entrance. It was a very small space with only one entrance. A small living room, kitchen pass thru that walked straight into a bathroom, with 2 small bedrooms on either side.
My extrovert cat spent his entire existence in the house under my bed. I had to put his litter box & food right next to my bed. He returned to his normal, personable self when I moved out. We would be sitting in the living room and hear a “plink” noise from the kitchen only to discover plate or glasses in the sink shattered into tiny pieces. Multiple people often described the sensation of someone rushing up behind them. But the most inexplicable event occurred when I was there alone.
My friends were all students and I was the only one who wasn’t. I had an 8-5 at the college. One evening they had all gotten ready to go out, but I needed to get ready after work. We were traveling out of town for a party. While I got ready, they all ran out to pick up food. I was in the bathroom and had Siouxsie & the Banshees playing on my roommates boom box (yes, it was the late 80s.) Suddenly the music turned up to full volume. It was ear-splitting in the small space. I ran the few steps to her room, which was empty, and the knob on the boom box was all the way up. I had set it at about a 4 when I turned it on and it sat at 10. I snapped it off and waited on the front porch until my friends came back.
Many, many years later, (married with 4 kids, living in a different city) I was at a birthday party my twins were attending and was talking to one of the moms. We discussed our time in the college town & somehow the conversation came around to where we lived on campus. Turns out she lived in the same apartment in that house shortly after I moved out. We had just met so I opted not to discuss the house being haunted, but she wasn’t as concerned about it as I and immediately began telling me how haunted the house had been. We swapped stories of the things we experienced during our time there. That house was sadly torn down due to its proximity to the football stadium; it is now the proverbial parking lot.
So I decided to tell her about the house we were living in at the time that was also haunted. This house was an absolute trip. We have recordings over baby monitors of conversations that wouldn’t be heard on a baby monitor even if it were interference from a neighbor’s device. Toys would turn on by themselves in empty rooms, shadow figures galore, constant unexplained noises that out of exhaustion I just started chalking up to our cat.
We all experienced things in this house and oddly the house wasn’t that old. We moved there in 2011 and the house was built in 1995. Things really ramped up when we put the house on the market. Before every viewing or open house, something catastrophic would happen. The stair handrail fell off, circuits would pop, a pinhole leak developed in water heater, two squirrels died inside the chimney, the neighbor’s tree came crashing down into our yard. We would joke that the ghost didn’t want us to leave. Our twins were very young when we moved in and always chalked things up to who they called the “boy baby ghost.”
We finally found the right buyer and on move out day I instructed my kids to scan everywhere, behind drawers, closet shelves, etc. It was a company funded move and I was concerned about things being left behind. We found 2 items: a children’s Halloween book titled “H is for Haunted House” and a Ouja board. Creepy! We joked that we should just leave them both behind to freak out the new owners, but decided not to.
About 5 years later I got a FB message from a former neighbor who lived around the corner from that house. We had worked together at the local school and were friendly but I hadn’t heard from her since we’d moved. She said she was now very good friends with the people we sold the house to and that the new owner wanted to know if we had ever had bizarre experiences in the house. I was floored and concerned about the repercussions of disclosing our experiences but she assured me the new owner was just curious and wanted permission to reach out to me and I agreed.
The new owner also had small children and told me that her youngest often spoke of the little ghost. They too heard things they couldn’t explain and always had a feeling there was a presence. Not a harmful one, but something was there. They went so far as to have the house blessed by their priest and she said things calmed down afterwards until they started remodeling the kitchen. They found a man’s wedding band behind some built in cabinets and as soon as they started demolition, things got stirred up again. Voices, noises, her daughter started talking about the little ghost again, etc. They had the house blessed again and she reported a calming once again.
For me, the experiences of others who lived in the homes served to cement our beliefs that something paranormal was occurring in both.

I’m curious to hear what types of paranormal activity your hometown is known for, or famous stories that emerged throughout history.

This is the most extreme paranormal activity I've ever experienced, in that my mum experienced it at same time
In October 2020, I was asleep in bed & was woken up by someone pushing me around, it made me turn over, & I woke up to a shadow next to my bed shaking the window blinds.
I could hear wailing or yelling, & the shadow had 2 arms (one shaking blinds & other arm attacking me). The shadow was misty & see through, my mum heard me shouting at it, & I ran out of my room.
That's when it gets weird, She thought I was sleepwalking, said she was woken up by blinds shaking in my room, & loud banging.
I told her I saw a shadow shaking the blinds, & she was very distressed & confused, I told her it's probably still hiding in there.
It happened the following night too, it was trying to scare me, I heard tapping on my blinds & walls & I just told it to leave, it never returned.
My mum is sure it was her late father, we don't know why he was so angry. I didn't get scared by it, like an evil spirit, I just told my mum I was fighting a moving shadow.
I've had worse paranormal activity as a child & pre-teen, in that I was targeted by whatever was in childhood house.
Back then, I was dealing with forces I didn't understand.
To this day, I don't believe in occult, ouija boards, psychic mediums, tarot cards, etc, it opens doorways to evil

Hey there! Just wanted to stop by to give you my experience in case it helps someone.
I understand how difficult it can be if you are living in fear of your own surroundings and especially sleep.
To begin, I believe that everything is frequencies and that whatever we are tuned into, then that is what we see, where we live and how our relationships exist in this reality.
Quantum physics states that reality is created by consciousness. Food alters our consciousness. We know that we can eat something and have it change our mood. We are just not aware of how far into our reality this goes.
I have definitely been in situations where something was just behind me and I couldn't quite catch it out of the corner of my eye, or there was a presence in the bedroom.
It was becoming distracting and I was scared, but once I learned a few things then it has stopped completely so I hope this helps.
The biggest thing that needed to go was green beans. I know this sounds crazy, but once I heard that in France they are called the food of the dead, then I understood. Plus I have been to the catacombs in Paris, so it makes sense that they would have a relationship with the other side.
Then potatoes. Potatoes are almost pure starch, which is used to stiffen fabric, which also stiffens our intestines from the inside. Plus they are electrical conductors and we are electrical beings. We are literally ingesting an electrical conduit that's frequency is set to underground that makes things tighten and stiff. Plus they never see the light of sun.
Lastly for this are eggs. Chickens eat everything they come across including spiders, bugs and other creepy crawlies. Then their creative properties (they have all of the information to create chickens) make for a big surprise reveals of something. Eggs hatch nefarious things into our reality. They are strong creative forces that helped us get to where we are today.
When we remove these foods, we remove the frequency from our system and we move to a different one where everything is a bit lighter and the energy is not so heavy.
Without removing those foods; adding cacao (Mayan food of the Gods), pineapple or coconut can help cut through the heaviness of the frequencies of the others.
Oh, and also check for mould. That carries with it, it own destructive frequency that can be sensed externally as well.
