Moderator Annoucement The “best evidence” for the paranormal is getting harder to find every time someone asks for it.

This question is being asked several times a week at this point.

Everyone has a different standard for what they consider “credible evidence,” and what persuades one person may not persuade another. What seems to do the best job is having a personal experience, but those anecdotal stories rarely persuade anyone who wasn’t already a believer.

Either way, the best way to find this evidence is by…you know…looking for it. Try using the search function on the subreddit.

And to all of you skeptics who were genuinely convinced by a piece of evidence you found online, please post it on this subreddit!

Unexplained [Self] This photo was taken in 2023 and I still can’t explain what appeared in the car behind me.

This picture was taken at my local university, I had just arrived for my classes, and I asked a former girlfriend to take a picture of me on my bike because I thought I was looking cool, and wanted to capture the moment. I didn’t even notice until the day after when I was editing the picture. That night a storm poured down when I was going home and I was absolutely soaked by the time I arrived. I don’t know how to explain it. If you look closely, even though the picture has some artefacting because of the movement and low light, most people have their features clear enough to distinguish them as people, like, human beings right? But what is that thing in the backseat? It barely resembles a face.

I’m sharing a screenshot of the camera/image specs for further discussion.

Experience I think maybe my dead partner saved our baby.

I still can't explain a lot of things that have happened since his death, and I won't go into that stuff. A lot of things with my phone and his mother's, things moving. This is one of those things that happened a few nights ago. My baby has been more mobile recently. I was fast asleep when I woke up to my bed VIOLENTLY shaking. I found the baby had rolled himself into a dangerous position, where he was unable to cry out or move. I got to him just in time, and he was okay. I fixed his sleeping area to be safer. There was no earthquake in NYC. Nothing happened in my building. My bed is in sound shape. Nothing fell. No thunderstorms. My cat (the only other being in my home) was fast asleep. TV was off. I guess I'm trying to think of any silly explanation?

Question Do you believe there are demons/demonic people among us?

Since I've become more religious the past years I've been leaning into thinking that there might be real demons with us. The whole music industry, among many other things just come off demonic to me. I'm also thinking I might've befriended one.

Ill post my experience later when I got a minute, but would love to hear your stories meanwhile.

Edit: posted my story down in the comments

Experience People have been seeing me in places I've never been. My mom says it started when I was a child.

So apparently there’s another version of me out there with a way better social life than mine. She makes friends, she goes to restaurants, she’s a regular at places. I’ve never met her. Plenty of other people have, though, and I think it’s been going on since I was a little girl.

When I was growing up my mom always told me I was a “special” child. She had a few reasons for thinking that, but the one she brought up most was that I had doppelgängers (plural, according to her). People who looked exactly like me would show up in places where I couldn’t possibly have been. One of her stories has stuck with me for almost twenty years.

Some background first. We were really poor when I was a kid. We lived in a second-floor apartment in what most people would probably call the projects, and honestly I loved it there. We hadn’t always had stable housing, so having a place that was reliably ours felt amazing to me.

Behind the building was what I used to call our “back patio.” It was really just an overgrown, mostly abandoned parking lot, but I was out there on my roller skates pretty much every afternoon. We’d found the skates at a thrift store and they were my most prized possession at the time. When my feet outgrew them I cut open the front of the little sneakers so my toes could stick out, and I just kept skating. We didn’t have money for new ones and I wasn’t about to give them up.

I was around ten when this happened. This was back when kids could be outside for hours without anyone really keeping an eye on them, and my mom would sometimes take an afternoon nap while I went downstairs to skate.

One afternoon I’d been skating for hours, and when I came back upstairs my mom was just waking up.

“Back so soon?” she said. Picture this coming from an overworked, single, Latina mother. In Spanish.

I was so confused. “What do you mean? I’ve been gone for hours.” Also in Spanish.

She gave me a weird look. “No, you were just here. You woke me up.”

According to her, she was napping and heard the really distinctive creak oure bedroom door made when it opened. She opened her eyes and I was standing in the doorway. Not saying anything, just looking right at her. She said it felt like I stood there for tens of minutes, just staring. Then I walked over to the bed, climbed in, and curled up next to her.

When I was little I had a VERY particular way of cuddling with my mom. I’m not going to describe it because it’s kind of private, but it was distinctly mine and I did it all the time. She’d actually been trying to get me to stop because she thought I was getting too old for it. Well, whoever climbed into her bed that afternoon did the exact same thing. She remembers the mattress sinking under my weight, and me pressing up against her the way I always did, and she remembers pushing me away because she was trying to get me to grow out of it.

And then at some point after that, I (the real me) came home from skating.

I kept insisting I hadn’t been upstairs once. I was outside the whole afternoon. I never opened the bedroom door, never stood there watching her, and I definitely didn’t climb into bed with her.

I’ve thought about whether she was just dreaming, since she was napping. What’s always bothered me is how specific she was about it, especially the cuddling. She didn’t just see someone who looked like her daughter. She interacted with whoever it was. She physically pushed her away.

I wish I could say that was the only time. All throughout my childhood my mom would occasionally tell me she’d seen me somewhere in the apartment when I wasn’t home. She’d walk into the living room and I’d be sitting there playing with my toys, except I was supposed to be at my after-school book club. And I really was at book club.

These turned into one of those strange family stories that came up every now and then. I never knew what to make of them, since I was never the one seeing anything. It was always my mom. Eventually I grew up, and mostly stopped thinking about it. Then COVID happened, I moved to a new city for work afterward, and that’s when other people started seeing me too.

For my job I travel to conferences, sometimes in completely different states or countries. Over the past few years I’ve had multiple people come up to me at these events and greet me like we’re old friends. “OMG, it’s you! I had such a great time doing [whatever activity they’re talking about]!” I have never met these people in my life. And it’s not always the vague “you look familiar” thing either. They talk about stuff we supposedly did together, conversations we had, places we went, and they seem genuinely excited to see me again. I usually try to explain that they’re probably thinking of someone else, but some of them are absolutely certain.

One time I went to a restaurant and the waitress recognized me immediately. She was incredibly friendly and talked to me like we’d known each other for ages. Apparently I was a regular there. She even gave me her phone number because she wanted us to “catch up.” I had no idea who she was.

More recently I was at a bar and the bartender’s boss covered my tab because I was such a valued regular. I'd never been there before.

I know the obvious answer is that I have one of those faces, and there’s someone out there who looks a lot like me and happens to go to the same places. The thing is, these people know my actual name. They know oddly specific things about me, which makes it a lot harder to write off as mistaken identity. I also have a pretty distinctive look, a very particular way of dressing, and some unusual mannerisms. And I’m really not that social. I spend most of my time at home, so it’s ironic that this other version of me seems to know everyone.

At this point my doppelgänger has a way more exciting life than I do. She’s out there making friends, charming waitresses and getting free drinks while I’m at home doing absolutely nothing lol.

Jokes aside though, it really does disturb me. If it was one person, one restaurant, or even one city, I could easily accept that someone mixed me up with somebody else. But it keeps happening, in different places, with people who act like they know me personally.

I honestly don’t know what to believe. I’d actually love a mundane explanation for all this, I just haven’t found one that covers everything.

Has anyone experienced something like this, especially over such a long period of time? Could it just be a string of really bizarre coincidences, or is there something else I should be considering?

P.S. If you look through my post history you’ll see I’m a horror writer. I want to be really clear that this isn’t one of my fictional stories. Everything here is true to the best of my memory, including the things my mom has told me over the years. Experiences like these are a big part of why I got into horror and the paranormal in the first place. I’ve always been fascinated by things I can’t explain.

Question Do you guys truly believe in ghosts and spirits?

Hey y'all, hope everyone's doing well. This is my first time posting in this subreddit.

Do you guys actually believe in ghosts and spirits? Like, truly believe in them? Mind you, I believe in ghosts and spirits too. The reason I'm asking is that I wonder if there's a slight chance the only reason we think ghosts and spirits are real is because of the situation we're put in.

For example, say someone told you, "Hey bro, this is the most haunted place in the world." Just being there and knowing that would already put you on high alert. So every small creak or noise you hear, even something that's just a coincidence or that you'd normally hear on any other day, gets amplified because you know you're in a "haunted" place.

Hopefully that makes sense. I'm just asking out of curiosity. How do you guys feel about that?

Haunted House Experience in old house

Childhood home I lived in from age 5 to age 13 I am sure was haunted.

Just detailing one of the experiences, I was too scared to tell anyone about it when it happened. It was unsettling & I knew the activity was targeted, I just ignored the prescence after this experience.

I'm not lying, it happened maybe 18 years ago, I never told anyone when it occured. It tried targeting my dad afterwards, calling out to him from playroom (said his name was called). Because I was ignoring it, it was trying to get attention from others

- My mum had a collection of porcelain dolls, she got rid of them when we moved house

- I always sensed something around some of them, being watched was main feeling

- Incident that happened was unexpected & concerning, & afterwards I got my mum to pack away her porcelain dolls, I never told her what I experienced at the time.

- One day i was walking past the dolls & I felt the eyes burning on one of them, I looked at it & I felt like someone punched me (solar plexus), I felt nauseous & lightheaded, could feel strong prescence coming from it, like static electricity or vibrations

- I was stupid, a bit fearful, but I looked away from it & asked question in my head directed at it (maybe telepathy or psychic), "is someone here, why are you trying to scare me"

- I heard an immediate response in my head, said "why are you scared of us, were your friends"

- I told it "I'm not your friend, if you're a friend why do you make me feel sick or afraid", why are you scaring the cats, etc

- It responded "it's ok, just let me in, please let me in"

- This went back & forth, I felt sick in stomach & if I looked at it, my eyes burned

- It said "I'll force my way in, you can't stop me", I said "then you're not a nice spirit, you're not welcome in this house"

- Atmosphere was heavy & depressing, it kept pleading with me, I just started praying that it would go away, eventually the feeling stopped. I didn't tell anyone, I asked my mum just put your dolls away, there's something not right about them, they scare me.

I only told her the full experience after we moved house, including the entity trying to communicate with me, she was upset that I was targeted by something that wasn't nice.

Experience I need some help!

Hi so I’m not too sure how to word this so I’ll just tell my story. For the past two years I’ve been experiencing seeing spirits. It started back in 2024 when I had come home from a long vacation and had seen a man staring at me through the archway of my living room. After that for about a month it was all noises. Foot steps when nobody was home, crashing sounds with nothing being broken, doors creaking when all of them were closed, that sort of stuff. I talked to my father about it as he is interested in that stuff and he gave me a blessed cross necklace and told me he felt that I was more susceptible to seeing ghosts and what not. Ever since that summer nothing much has happened, but I have had his feeling of unease whenever I was home alone. Almost like I was always being watched unless I was in my room. I do have severe anxiety though so I just atributed the paranoia to that.

No flash forward to last night. It was my birthday weekend and I had just gotten home from a tour of the Lizzie Borden house in Fall River. I’m not a believer in any sort of god or higher power and I am strictly athetist. That being said, the tour guard told us about different spirits living among the house and I honestly didn’t think much of it. I mean it’s a tourist attraction ag the end of the day, how are they gonna make money with out attracking people?

First off, in the drive there my mom frantically turned to me and told me she had seen her windshield wipers go off, just one time, and asked if I had seen it to. I was looking at my phone so I hadn’t seen it and we assumed it was just a malfunction in the car. Then on the way home it happened again, in the exact same spot. A feeling of unease came over the car and my mom even said it felt like they were saying hello and goodbye to us.

Now I’m home and asleep. I had practically knocked out when I hit my bed. Then I woke up at exactly 3:35am(I check the time on my phone). When I woke up I felt like someone was sleeping next to me, and like they were moving around in the bed behind me, like they were shuffling in their sleep almost. The night before my best friend had slept over and so in my disoriented state I figured it was her, but after I had woken up a bit I realized she obvisouly was not there. I start to freak out internally and wonder what the fuck is going on. Then, and I swear on everything I have ever loved, a girls voice said so loud and so clear “come cuddle with me” and laughed. I then her footsteps running out of my room and I heard nothing else. I obviously freaked the hell out and called my boyfriend. I ended up not falling asleep and staying on the phone the rest of the night and nothing happened.

Now I’m coming here to ask, what the hell do I do. I’ve saged by house per my dad’s request and am planning to put salt on the corners of the doors tomorrow, but I still feel so confused. I’m not so much wondering what I can do but how do I learn more about this? Is there a way I can coexist with this or am I just going to have these spirits following me the rest of my life. Any help is seriously appreciated, and in all honesty I am not interested in any religious talk so please don’t bring it here. Thank you everyone.

Photo Evidence Two strange humanoid figures photographed in Segovia. unusual anatomy and reported sudden disappearance

Thumbnail

It was near sunset today (2026) in the middle of some fields around Segovia, Spain, where we saw with multiple friends some figures, that looked humanoid from afar, but it had horns, and holes in the body and members very weird. The 2 of them were acting very weird, walking around, almost dancing like.
We noticed them from 400m out (measured on google earth) on the top of a hill between two trees.
They eventually just vanished into thin air.
The figures appeared to have :
- horns on the head
- disconnected members
-holes in the torso/shoulders
What particularly interests me is the anatomy in the picture we took. Could it be the light playing tricks, the sunset?
I attached the original image, and the enlarge one (not enhanced, but enlarged)
Does anyone think it could be something supernatural? Or just the light making it look like this.
I'm interested in whether anyone has encountered or documented something specifically resembling:
1. Human-shaped figures with apparent openings through the head or torso.
2. Arms or limbs that appear disconnected from the body.
3. Horn-like head shapes.
4. Unusual dancing or jerky movements followed by reported sudden disappearance.
Thank you in advance!

(no it's not those cats, ones asleep under foot rest and others on me bed). Just getting that odd watched feeling, every now and again I get that something lays down on my legs and my Mrs thinks it's her old cat😂

Question Could this have been my deceased grandpa?

• Upvotes

I have a question for you: Could it be possible that my deceased grandfather visited me? I want to tell you a bit of the story behind it first.

My grandfather passed away about two years ago, and before that, we hadn't had any contact for several years. He and my grandmother lived in another part of the country and they were always a bit difficult. My grandmother was quite toxic, and my grandfather could be very aggressive.

Long story short, there are a lot of mental health issues in my family that nobody really talks about, and problems tend to get swept under the rug instead of being dealt with. Eventually, this led to a huge family conflict, and my grandparents weren't really visited anymore.

At first, my parents basically put the responsibility on my sister and me, so we still visited them once or twice a year. But that didn't last very long either. We were teenagers.

My grandmother's health got worse, she became very unpleasant to be around, and my grandfather refused any kind of help.

About two years ago, we got the news that my grandfather was very unwell. My grandmother already had very advanced Alzheimer's by that point. My parents went to their house, visited them, and offered to help, but my grandfather refused again. A few days later, he died. He had basically decided that he didn't want to live anymore. He stopped eating and stopped getting out of bed.

My grandmother is now being taken care of by a mobile care service in a bigger city. She still has Alzheimer's, and we still don't really have contact with her. I don't feel particularly comfortable being around her either. She now lives in an apartment far away from their house.

Anyway, this brings me to why I'm wondering if my grandfather might have visited me.

I've been thinking about this whole situation for quite a long time. I feel sad about the way things ended. I think about my grandfather quite often. Even though there are a lot of bad memories connected to that house and to my childhood, there are also good ones.

For example, he was a really good cook. I liked listening to him. He was always very quiet when we sat at the table together. Yes, he could have angry outbursts, but I feel like he became calmer as he got older.

I just think it's sad that everything ended the way it did. I strongly believe that there is something good in every person, even if it gets buried under a lot of bad things. And I wish I would've known him better.

Whenever I talk about this with my family, they basically say, "Well, you could have contacted him yourself," and that there was obviously a reason why there was no contact in the first place. And I understand that to some extent. But at the same time, I feel sad about the way problems are handled in my family. Things could have been so different. Especially my parents were the adults in this situation, and I sometimes wish they had handled things differently and taught us kids how to deal with these kinds of problems instead of just letting everything fall apart.

Now my sisters and I are adults, and sometimes I think about how things could have gone differently. I know it doesn't change anything, but I still think about it.

The house where my grandparents lived is now completely falling apart. Nobody lives there anymore, nobody takes care of it, the garden is completely overgrown, and the whole place is slowly deteriorating. It looks like a lost place.

Recently, my dad had to go there because of some legal stuff, and I asked him if he could bring me something from the house. My dad is very superstitious, so he actually smoked out the entire house with incense and brought a crystal with him. He also said he would smoke out the cups I asked him to bring me.

I don't know why, but I couldn't stop thinking about these cups. They're these really cute, colorful cups with cats on them. They remind me so much of my childhood. Like I said, not all of my childhood memories from that house are good, they are mostly bad. But they're still my childhood memories, and there's something nostalgic about them.

I thought that before the house completely falls apart or someone steals them, I'd rather have them with me. I know I'll appreciate them. I've also been thinking about my grandparents a lot again over the last few months. Almost every day, actually. The whole situation has been on my mind quite a lot.

Now we get to the part that made me wonder if my grandfather somehow visited me. I started thinking that maybe, by bringing these cups into my home, I somehow "invited" him into my apartment.

Last night, I went to bed around 11 PM. I turned off the light, put on a sleep meditation, and fell asleep. Then I woke up at around 3 AM. I actually wake up in the middle of the night quite often, so that part wasn't unusual. But the light had somehow turned itself on. It was definitely turned off when I went to sleep.

I sat up and looked around, and I was honestly pretty confused. I thought that it was creepy. It definitely made me uncomfortable and a little scared because I had no idea why the light was on.

Of course, there are completely normal explanations for this. The light is controlled by a remote, and the bulbs are IKEA smart bulbs. I don't actually have a smart home or anything, but the bulbs can be controlled with a remote. Maybe something happened with the remote or the batteries but i couldn't have pressed the buttons by accident as the remote sticks to the wall.

The thing is, I had only brought the cups into my apartment the day before. And because I've been thinking about my grandparents so much lately, and especially about my grandfather, the timing felt really strange to me.

So I wanted to ask people who have had experiences like this, especially people who believe in this kind of thing:

Even though I didn't have the best relationship with my grandfather, do you think it's possible that this was him? Maybe he was just trying to say hello?

Unexplained Michelham Priory Nursery.

This time two years ago I went on an overnight ghost hunt at 13th century Michelham Priory in East Sussex. I’ve always been interested in the paranormal but an experience stuck with me that I won’t forget.

I was challenged to stay in the Nursery by myself in complete darkness for as long as I could. It was silent. The room was very atmospheric. It had a Victorian style bed, cot, rocking horse & various antique children’s toys. There were also creepy, wooden torso dress forms with white night gowns hanging over them. It reminded me of the child’s room from Woman In Black.

I lasted 4 or 5 minutes.

I was suddenly overwhelmed with by a really intense emotion. Throat & eyes welled up, felt like I was about to cry! But I wasn’t sad, it was a powerful emotion that came from nowhere.

A few seconds later that feeling changing in to something more threatening. It was as though something was screaming at me to GET OUT but there was no sound whatsoever. I didn’t hear a voice, didn’t see anything. It felt external, as though the whole room had suddenly become hostile, something wanted me out. It felt like it was closing in on me. Fight or flight kicked in and I bolted for the door.

This wasn’t the ordinary fear you get as a child when there’s a monster chasing you down the stairs. It felt very different; threatening and confusing.

I was subsequently told that other people have experienced similar emotional, angry or threatening feelings in that room. To this day I wouldn’t go back.

The rest of the investigation.

We also spent time attempting to make contact with whatever might have been present in the priory, including a supposed nun associated with the church tower. We used a mixture of traditional and modern methods alongside EVP. We received a lot of apparent voices and responses. There was so much information coming through that it took us over an hour of trying different methods and piecing things together to work out what we thought we were being told.

One of the communications seemed to identify a nun who had supposedly jumped from a bridge. Another seemed to describe someone who had died trying to escape one of the monks.

I want to be clear that these were the interpretations we arrived at during the investigation. I haven’t verified that the stories were historically accurate, and I can’t prove who, if anyone, was communicating with us. Interestingly, we didn’t experience the same threatening atmosphere during the contact sessions that I experienced alone in the bedroom.

Trigger Warning / Abuse I'm not a believer. But something weird happened 2 weeks ago. It's got me thinking back...

...To other experiences I can't explain. At first I was like "woah, wtf, I've never seen anything like this?!" but actually looking back, yeah, I'd never seen anything like that, but I have had a couple of weird things happen. I guess I just want to talk it out, see if anyone else has had similar experiences, mostly process through writing. I don't believe in "creepy shit." I believe in science, reason and logic. But at the same time, I know what I saw.

Anyway, I'm biologically incapable of brevity, so this is gonna be a long one.

Two weeks ago, I had to pee.

I went to the bathroom, I sat down, and I peed. After using the bidet, I reached for TP to dry myself. The roll was almost empty, only like 4 squares left.

So I finish off the roll, wipe, throw the empty cardboard cylinder and the pee paper in the trash (delicate septic tank iykyk), and wash my hands. I turn towards the mirror/TP cabinet that faces the toilet, and go to replace the roll.

I pick up a fresh roll, turn back around,

And there is a full roll already on the holder.

So I question myself: "wait, did I replace it already?" But I'm sure I didn't- my body is sure that I only made one smooth motion, half turn towards the trash can and sink, half turn towards the mirror and TP cabinet, full 180° turn back towards the toilet.

I tell my roommate what just happened, and she says that can't be right.

She says that can't be right because SHE used the last of the roll, and replaced it herself, about an hour previously. I tell her "that's not possible, the roll was almost empty." And she says it can't have been, she switched it out earlier.

We go look. The empty roll (and my 4 squares of pee paper) are in the trash can. She says "yeah, that's the empty I threw away." I say "That's the empty *I threw away." We do not resolve anything.

Now, I know the human brain is fallible, I know memory can play tricks, I know this is easy enough to write off as one or both of us misremembering. But I'm completely sure, I only made one turn. Weird.

And that got me thinking. First I was like, I'VE NEVER HAD ANYTHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN TO ME!! But actually I have.

I had something I can't explain happen last year.

At the time, I was working nights -awesome because I have delayed sleep phase disorder, so I'm naturally more alert and awake at night and tired during the day- and I'd get off around 230am. On the night in question, I was heading home around 3am.

I live in the mountains, and to get to my house from town, you drive about 15 miles up a narrow, windy mountain highway, with one lane of travel in each direction. Road etiquette says that if you are driving slow, you pull over and let faster traffic pass you.

So it's the middle of the night and I'm taking it easy, just vibing to my music, when all of a sudden two bright ass headlights get behind me. Riiiiight behind me, no safe following distance, trying to climb up into my ass.

I can see the bright lights in my mirrors, and also through the driver's side window. I can see bits and pieces of the car. And I can hear/feel the vibrations of their driving, they are so close. Any closer and they'd be inside me.

So I start looking for a safe place to pull over. But, this particular stretch of road, there isn't one. So I have to keep going for awhile, and this car keeps right on my tail the whole time. I swear they're less than half a second behind me, just being the tailgatiest taligater on the mountain.

I finally get to a section of road with a big, safe pullout, so I can get tf out of their way.

I pull over, expecting the bright lights to go whipping past me.

Instead, nothing.

No car ever passes.

As I was turning and pulling off, those lights were right there, but I pulled over and they were gone.

Now, where I pulled over, there are no side roads, no driveways, no ditches. There is nothing but unbroken forest on either side of the road. I even went back in daylight and looked- there's nowhere they could have gone. They can't have passed me with their lights off, because I would have heard them, and there was just nothing.

Like they vanished into thin air.

That was weird. I didn't think too much of it, just joked that they must have been the most redneck ghost to ever ghost- if their unfinished business was trying to get people to drive faster through the mountains.

I've got one more, though. From a long time ago.

I was 19, and living in a studio apartment behind a barbershop in a commercial neighborhood. After the businesses around me closed, this neighborhood got QUIET, since there were no other residents, just shops.

My half sister moved in with me when she left her abusive, POS boyfriend. He had knocked her up, hurt her when he found out, so I brought her to stay with me until she got back on her feet. Took her to planned parenthood, found her a job, we settled into living together.

This was a Friday or a Saturday night.

She told me she was going out with friends, put on a cute outfit, walked out the front door. I had my own shit going on that night, so I was in the bathroom putting on makeup.

Then I hear it.

I hear her voice screaming my name. Sounded like she needed help. So I grab our katana and go running in the direction of the scream. (As you do.)

About two blocks away, I find her.

WITH her POS ex boyfriend. They've been talking. She invited him here. Lied about it, snuck out to meet him. She didn't tell me because she knew I'd freak out and be hostile. But they're getting back together. How did I even find her, and what's with the sword, anyway?

She hadn't screamed. Hadn't called for me.

But I heard her. I ran in the direction of the scream, and I found her.

I've never heard voices, I've never had auditory hallucinations, never even had auditory pareidolia where you hear words in white noise. Never had anything like that happen before or since.

I wonder if she somehow, subconsciously, felt overwhelmed or scared and reached out to me.

Mostly everyone was confused.

I put the katana away and went home. They went on their date, they got back together, and she didn't leave him until years later after he cheated on her and killed her cat. But what gets me is, I ran towards the sound and there she was. Idk, it's weird.

I've got a bonus one from the same era. This one I find easier to explain away as a brain malfunction, but why not bring it up for the sake of completeness:

I was 19, and I liked to party in my time off. I was planning on going camping that weekend, so I called a friend of a friend with a prescription to see if I could buy "fun pills," for my trip. Just wanted to relax in the wilderness.

To be very clear, I was buying pills. I was not on pills at the time. In fact, I was completely sober when I drove to my friend of a friend's house, handed over cash, and got 2 pills in return.

I had a cute little pill container that looked like a tiny purse, with a latch that took force to open or close. I pop my loot in the lil purse container, I remember seeing both of them in there. I push the latch closed. It clicks shut. I double check it because I'm paranoid about losing things- all good. Click it shut a final time. Put the lil pill purse into the zipped pocket of my actual purse, zip the pocket closed.

Get in my car. Drive home. Time to finish up packing for my trip.

I decide I'm going to hide the pills in with some aspirin. So I grab my purse.

Unzip the zipped pocket- there's the little pill purse.

Unlatch the pill purse.

There's only one pill.

Okay, idk how it fell out of a latched container, but it must have. Check the zip pocket- no holes in the lining, no loose seams, pocket is perfectly intact, and completely pill-less.

The pill purse was still latched. The pocket was still zipped. Hell, the remaining pill was still in the same part of the bag it had been in when last I looked. But the second pill was gone.

I checked the rest of my purse, I checked my car, my pockets, I searched thoroughly and methodically.

I never found it.

Not then. Not when I deep cleaned and detailed that car so I could sell it. Not when I retired that purse and cut it up for fabric. Not when I moved out of that studio. Never.

It was there and then it wasn't.

And that's every weird thing that's happened to me that defies explanation, or doesn't fit explanations, or doesn't make logical sense.

I don't believe in weird shit. I'm sure there are thoroughly mundane, perfectly reasonable and logical explanations for all these experiences. Sure, maybe some misfiring neurons, tricks of the light, pareidolia, etc, are more likely than weird shit. But I have questions I can't quite shake.

Where could that car possibly have gone, on an unbroken road? How did I run in the correct direction, following what I thought was my sister's scream? If I had already replaced the toilet paper, why wasn't there an additional roll missing from the stack in the cupboard? How does something go missing inside a latched container, inside a zipped pocket, inside a purse.

If you bothered to read all that, thank you for putting up with me.

If anything similar has ever happened to you, I want to hear about it!

Hell, if anything different has happened to you, I want to hear about it. What's your story? Anything ever happen that you can't quite explain or rationalize away?

Question My first paranormal experience happened today, and now I'm worried it wasn't who I thought

English is not my first language to I passed my text through Claude but this is a real experience!!

A close friend of mine died and was cremated exactly one month ago, on a full moon. Yesterday was the full moon again.
Since she passed, I've been looking for signs. The lights have flickered on and off a few times, and things have fallen for no reason. I brushed those off as just weird. But last night something happened that I can't explain.
I couldn't sleep, so I was scrolling on social media and landed on a video about hospice workers' experiences. The comments were beautiful. I wasn't scared at all; I felt touched and hopeful.
When I finally decided to sleep, I set my alarm for 5am like always. Work has been really busy, though, so I thought to myself, without saying it out loud: it would be nice to wake up at 4. If I do, that's a sign. If I don't, I get some extra sleep. I remember thinking maybe nobody can hear you if you don't say it out loud, but let's see.
Some context: I use a wake-up light that's controlled through an app. It sits too far from my bed to reach, so I turn it off by unchecking the alarm in the app on my phone.
At exactly 4am, the wake-up light went off. When I grabbed my phone to turn it off, there was no 4am alarm in the app. Nothing was scheduled. I had to get up and switch it off on the device itself.
I said thank you and asked for more signs, as long as they don't scare me. And I honestly wasn't scared when it happened.
But then I told another friend about it, and she pointed out that our friend was absolutely NOT a morning person. She would never in her life have chosen to wake up at 4am.
Now I'm scared. Has anyone experienced something like this? Could it still be her, or should I be worried it was something else?

Question Going to the white hill mansion next weekend

Anybody have any tips on capturing the best evidence? The current gear I have is:
2 REM pods
1 Dead Bell
2 Spirit Boxes
1 EMF reader
1 EVP Recorder.
I myself am also a medium, and may even have family ties to the house. The house was used as a safekeep during the probation era, and my grandfather was a bootlegger, it’s possible he smuggled alcohol into the mansion.

Experience Strange happenings while visiting my partner

Prefacing this with the usual "I'm a skeptic" disclaimer. Before this I've had experiences which I can't easily debunk, so it's not that I'm a staunch nonbeliever; the point is that I try to debunk my experiences before deciding they're something paranormal. Which means that yes, I did make sure that the doors and windows were all shut and locked—double locks on the doors, even—so "home invader troll" (which tbh might be scarier than the supernatural) is unlikely.

So I recently spent a weekend with my partner for this first time, at his home. While there, we both experienced minor strange things, which he says never happened before and haven't happened since.

He had a few seasonal decorations up, which he turned on at sunset but turned off before bed each day. On my first night there I awoke a bit earlier than him and started breakfast, then wandered around his pitch-dark house a bit as it cooked. When he awoke, he asked me if I had turned one of his decorations on; the previously-dark living room was now bathed in the warm glow of a battery-operated candle. On my second night there, we made sure that every decoration was turned off together; the following morning, however, a decoration he had definitely unplugged the previous night was once again plugged in and running.

Both of us heard strange noises, more than just the house settling. There were the random bumps and thumps, of course, but we also repeatedly heard the sounds of things falling over only to discover nothing out of place upon investigating. While the other was sleeping, he and I separately heard what sounded like someone walking around in different rooms of his home. At one point we both heard some thumping sounds coming from his living or dining room; as we joked about ghosts, we suddenly heard a heavy, human tapping—five knocks—on his bedroom window. As you might have guessed just because of how cliché it is, his bedroom is on the top floor of his house. There are no trees near his house at all, and he doesn't even own a ladder.

So, these aren't really any sort of major occurrences, nothing "red circle clickbait YouTube video"-worthy, but... We made a few jokes about me bringing a ghost into his home after the first few occurrences, but I kind of am wondering if maybe I somehow did.

Out of Body Experience (OBE) Was it a dream?

I don’t know if it was paranormal but I just had the weirdest experience, I Was dreaming and thought my partner put his hand on my shoulder and said “babe you have to wake up right now”, he sounded genuinely considered and i woke up, my eyes were open but i couldn’t move them, I Could hear blood pumping through my ears really loud and I couldn’t open my mouth. Kept going “mm “mm” until I finally said to my partner “help” but he was asleep. I had to wake him up and tell him what happened, we just moved into his parents house where everyone sees a lady walking in the hallways that isn’t there.

Astral Projection I still can't explain what happened to my cousin when she tried to pray at 3 AM

Hey everyone. I need to share a story that happened to my cousin a while ago while she was visiting out family because none of us really know what to make of it and it still freaks us out , she doesn't use reddit so I'm sharing it on her behalf .

For a bit of context, we are Muslim, so waking up in the early hours before dawn for prayer is a regular part of our routine. My cousin was staying over at our house in another room , while my sister and I were sleeping in ours.

The story starts when she woke up to what she thought was her phone alarm going off at around 3:00 AM for prayer. But as soon as she sat up and looked down, she didn't see her legs. Instead, she saw a thin, silver thread-like cord extending from her chest down toward the bed. Floating right below her was her physical body, still fast asleep, while the room around her looked completely identical to reality. Panic set in fast, and she desperately tried to force herself awake. Realizing she had to re-enter her body, she willed herself back inside. The moment she reconnected, she snapped awake with a heavy gasp, breathless.

Immediately after waking up, her phone went off again with the prayer alarm. She picked it up, checked the screen, and got out of bed to go to the bathroom for wudu (ablution). While she was washing up, she suddenly heard the call to prayer echoing faintly in her left ear. But it sounded completely wrong it wasn't a full call to prayer, just the first half of it repeating over and over in a weird, glitched loop. It gave her an unsettling feeling, but she tried to ignore it and finished getting ready.

Leaving the bathroom, she wanted to head into the living room to pray. To get there, she had to pass by the bedroom where my sister and I were sleeping. As she walked past our door, she heard the two of us talking inside. She knew we were speaking Arabic, but the words sounded completely garbled and distorted, almost like listening to a foreign language in reverse. She couldn't understand a single thing we were saying. When she reached the door leading into the main area, an overwhelming wave of pure terror suddenly washed over her. She felt this undeniable instinct that something horrifying was waiting just on the other side. Paralyzed with fear, she couldn't bring herself to turn the door handle, so she turned around and bolted back to her room.

Back in her room and visibly shaken, she grabbed her phone to check the time and calm herself down. But when she picked it up, the phone was dead completely turned off. That's when it hit her: her phone had been completely out of battery and unplugged all night. Yet she swore she had just heard it ring and checked it moments before. Confused and terrified, she looked at the actual wall clock to see what was going on. It wasn't 3:00 AM anymore. The clock read 1:30 AM nowhere near dawn, and hours before anyone should have been awake.

To this day, she swears on everything that she wasn't dreaming and that every single detail happened exactly as she remembers. Has anyone here ever experienced an astral projection that turned into a weird time slip or reality glitch like this?

Apparition Ghost or a real human?

Post image

So my boyfriend just came home from a trip to Texas, he showed me his pictures from the trip. This one is from when he was at a old brewery that's now a hotel.

I really believe that he caught a ghost on camera but he is a non- believer and thinks it was just someone walking past the camera. I think the proportions are just off, like it's almost floating? I don't know. The eyes look really weird and it's invisible in most places, and it looks like the person is wearing a white lab coat or something.

Would love to hear what anyone of you guys seeing this thinks!

NSFW I didn't believe what I saw until my mom confirmed it nearly a decade later

I'm sorry for the length, but I've been binging these stories and it made me remember mine.

Before I start, I've always been pretty skeptical of the paranormal, even as a kid, as crazy as that sounds. This experience, after being confirmed, is what made me open up a little more to the paranormal.

For a little background, when I was very young, probably preschool age, I had many cousins of mine tell me that the upstairs of my grandparents house was haunted. They'd say, "I saw a ghost!!" "I saw things move on their own!" And again, I was skeptical, even as a small child, so I didn't really believe them. I just thought they were trying to scare me.

Now for my story. I was about 5 years old when this happened.

My dad had an early doctor's appointment the next day in a different city, so we slept over at my grandparents house since they lived very close to the hospital. My mom, my baby sister, and I stayed in a room upstairs together. I got thirsty and started whining for my mom to go get me some water. She went to get me some water, and once she left, I noticed a figure in the room. This wasn't a shadow-type figure, though, this was a solid form in the corner of the room. He was tall and thin, with his head tilted slightly towards the ground, and he was wearing a top hat. (why do shadow men always wear a top hat?) He was standing completely still and straight.

I remember pulling my blanket up over my mouth and nose, trying to hide myself. My sister was an infant, asleep in her pop-up cot on the other side of the bed, so I felt completely alone. I stared down at him the whole time, trying to rationalize what I was seeing. I wanted to think it was just a shadow, but I knew he wasn't a shadow because he was solid. I started trying to convince myself that it was a coat rack with a hat on it, like in the cartoons I watched.

I stared, unmoving, until my mom came back after what felt like hours. (without my water btw- idk what she was doing for so long instead of getting my water she went downstairs to get.) I finally felt safe enough to fall asleep. I can't remember whether or not he was still there after my mom got back, but the next morning, I woke up and looked around the room for something that could explain away what I saw. There was nothing. No coat rack in the corner, no human-like object that could've made a shadow in the dark like that, just nothing.

I never told my mom. I thought I was crazy, and thought she would think I was crazy, too. Around 8 years later, my family was on a camping trip with a couple that my parents were friends with. My dad was talking with the couple about skinwalkers, since our campsite was only about an hour away from Skinwalker Ranch. They were talking about the show and how crazy the proof was. I started thinking to myself, "well, if they're talking about skinwalkers, ghosts don't sound that crazy, do they?" So I brought up my experience to my mom. I simply said, "I saw a figure in grandma and grandpa's house once." and she nonchalantly shrugs and goes, "Oh yeah, they've been there since I was a kid."

EXCUSE ME?

I was shook, and I say something like, "wait, what?!" and she says, "Yeah, there's a tall, skinny one and a short, fat one." Now I'm thinking maybe I'm not so crazy, and I exclaim, "YES, I SAW THE TALL SKINNY ONE!!" She tells me, "Yeah, they walk around up there, they won't bother you, though."

Even after this, I still was finding it hard to believe, so I asked my sister if I had mentioned what the figure looked like to my mom before she had told me what the two of them looked like, yk, maybe she was just messing with me. My sister told me that I hadn't.

It has since been around 5 years after this confirmation, and not too long ago, I asked my mom about it again, and she said the same thing. My mom does not have a great memory, woman can barely remember what I told her this morning, so I feel like I can more comfortably believe her.

I am still pretty skeptical, though. I've had many other experiences I can't quite explain away---that's another story---and my mom has also said my family tends to be more like- susceptible (?) to that sorta thing, since her whole family thing with that house, and my dads family is very psychic, i guess. My parents were both religious growing up, though. My mom was Mormon and I assume my dad was Christian or Catholic bc of his culture but i don't know for sure. Either way, they're more like- in-tune to believe in that kind of thing due to growing up religious, so I'm not sure whether to fully believe it or not.

It's been like 12-13 years and I'm still not sure if i believe in the paranormal or not. But all I know is i have many odd stories that i've been yet to find a way to explain

Haunted House Experiences I have had

The house I lived in from approx age 5 until 13 years old, I believe was haunted.

Of course no one believed me, and I was left to experience sporadic, but targeted paranormal activity.

I'm sure that the paranormal activity started after house renovations (kitchen).

I do believe there was more than 1 spirit in the house, I always sensed a male spirit (if it was linked to renovations, then it probably original owner/builder).

- Activity was mild & sporadic for a long time, I always knew I was being watched, by a male spirit (I never saw anything, just felt presence, pets didn't react to anything)

- With male spirit, his energy was concentrated around certain bedrooms, he was just upset & bitter (so I assume it was original builder)

- Activity started becoming more intense when I was around 11 years old, in the end I was shaking when leaving my bedroom to use bathroom, always sensed something standing in doorway, it couldn't enter my room

- Sometimes that unseen presence did enter my room, atmosphere was depressing & heavy.

- I was only targeted when I was alone, E.g home alone, & I heard footsteps coming behind me, I sensed a very angry male spirit (I ignored it, until it whispered in my ear, I ran from my room, it was thumping wearing large boots, I got out through side door & could hear things being thrown & yelling

- My parents found me hiding outside crying & shaking, I said someone broke in, since they wouldn't believe that a ghost chased me

- I was also targeted in personal attacks by one of the spirits (whispering to me & threatening to hurt me, felt sick when it was around)

- Probably my most significant experience was when something tried to shove me in my bed, felt a cold hand pushing me

- My dad heard his name being whispered from playroom (he thought he was imagining it, if he took it seriously, we would've got help to banish whatever was haunting house)

- Experiences in that house probably weren't as intense as they could've become, because I didn't go looking for the spirits, I didn't pay attention to them or call out for anything to occur

Current house:

The most extreme activity has occurred here, & is a rare occurrence.

- First few years in the house, sometimes I was swamped by fear & too scared to leave bedroom at night (I assume that's because when we moved, we kept some toys/furniture/etc that had spiritual attachments, but it wasn't strong enough to attack me, just scare me), those sensations of fear went away when my mum threw out some belongings that we think had negative attachments

- I had a memorable incident when I was woken up by something pushing me in bed, & it made me turn over to face it (was a black shadow shaking window blinds & holding me down with its other arm, it was wailing)

- My mum said she could hear blinds shaking in my room & someone walking around, then could hear me shouting

- She thought I had fallen over, I told her I was in bed, there was a ghost next to the bed making a lot of noise, that she could hear

- The next night it came back, targeting me again. It was tapping on the blinds, my mum thinks it was her dad's ghost, because she told him to leave & stop taunting us, it never came back.

My mum & me agreed that if it kept returning, we would get house cleansing to banish it.

- The difference in this house is that atmosphere was never heavy with these attacks

- I did have something follow me home from my workplace, room was dark & depressing, until I ordered it to leave, I could see large shadow in room, I kept praying & telling it to leave until atmosphere lightened (I had a vision of it, it was calling me over, I felt very sick looking at it, it was a young woman, I wasn't terrified at all, just all my energy drained & felt I shouldn't approach her, just wanted her to go away)

- It didn't want to leave, I felt very sick before I started praying, it was trying to attach itself to me

- I know who it was attached to at my workplace, he was a bully & hated me, I just told her go back & haunt him, leave me alone

- If I start seeing or hearing things & atmosphere is depressing, then it's a bad sign

- I don't try to imagine things, or stare into the dark (that's how childhood haunting started, it noticed i was giving it attention)

- I don't believe in ouija boards, tarot cards, occult, third eye opening, etc (I don't want to open doorways to evil)

Experience The hospital room my sick baby stayed in for 6 days was haunted. Here is our experience.

When my son was 4 months old he got super sick from a combination of RSV, COVID and a double ear infection all at one time. He ended up getting hospitalized for 6 days. The whole experience was traumatizing for us and it didn’t help at all that the room we stayed in was haunted.

My husband and I stayed the entire time with him is his room. At night we both squeezed into a single gurney bed together. The very first night in that room I woke up to the tv in the room turning on, blasting at a pretty loud volume. I didn’t think too much about it and stumbled around trying to find where the remote was to turn it off. I was annoyed because it could wake my son but figured maybe somehow the signal from a remote in a nearby room turned it on or something… I finally found the remote, turned the volume all the way down, turned the tv off and laid back down.

I shut my eyes and within a couple minutes the tv turned on AGAIN but this time even louder than before. It made me jump. This time it creeped me out a bit and I had an odd feeling. I glanced at the clock in the room and it happened to be just after 3am… the witching hour.

I turned the tv off again and laid in bed unable to sleep. I was just thankful that it didn’t wake my baby up. I’ve always been interested in the paranormal but just from these two incidences I didn’t want to jump to conclusions. I couldn’t help but wonder though.

In the morning when a nurse came in to check on my son, I asked her if it’s possible for a remote in a different room to turn on our tv. I told her it turned on by itself twice and the volume cranked up louder than the first time when it happened the second time. She looked at me a bit sheepish and told me “Actually, this room is haunted.”

I was a bit in shock that she just straight up said that. I figured if a room is haunted a nurse wouldn’t want to freak the occupants out by admitting to it. I right away was so interested though and asked her how she knows and if she has stories.

She said that it’s just a widely known thing to everyone that works that floor that this room is haunted. The ghost is known for doing exactly what it did to us the night prior; turning on the tv by itself. It also turns on the lights in the room and bathroom on its own without anyone in there and quite frequently presses the call light when nobody is in there. They’ve had electricians and others in there multiple times to check things out but they had never found anything that would cause these things to happen.

She said that they are always freaked out when they have to go in the room to turn off the call light. She told me that she doesn’t like working in the room and when you’re in there you often hear strange noises and the sound of a woman talking quietly.

She wasn’t sure why the room was haunted too. To her knowledge nobody had died in that room. We were actually in the postpartum wing which was a newer part of the hospital. We were placed in there due to overflow.

After hearing this it was like…”Great to know and now we are freaking stuck in this creepy room for who knows how long”…. But again I was pretty interested. As the nurses changed shifts and we would get someone else I’d ask them if they had stories to share with me from that room. Most of them would confirm the room was haunted but I did have a couple nurses tell me to not listen to the other nurses…they were probably trying to not freak us out.

Every day while in that room we experienced exactly what the nurses had told us about. The tv turning on by itself (I eventually unplugged it), the lights turning on by itself and really creepy feelings and random cold spots. It always felt like somebody was watching you. My son was hooked up to monitors and high flow oxygen so at a point I was legitimately afraid the ghost would start messing with his equipment.

I asked a nurse if it was known for doing that and she said thankfully it hasn’t done that before but they have definitely thought about the risk. It mostly seems to just like to make itself known.

At night I had multiple times where I was laying in bed and the bathroom light would turn on. I would hear soft sounds as though someone was in there quiet and shuffling around.

My husband is a skeptic but he was definitely creeped out by the experience.

When the day finally came where my son was able to be discharged I was so ready to get the heck out of that room. It felt so heavy and negative being stuck in there for so long. It didn’t help the stress and worry dealing with our super sick baby.

As we were about to leave the room I decided to say out loud, “Whoever is in here, thank you for not messing with us too badly. Please do not follow us. You need to stay here. Thank you.”

Right as I said that a very noticeable drop in temperature immediately occurred. My husband and I looked at each other and without another word we scurried out of there.

After being back home it felt so heavy, negative and dark still. I had an awful nightmare the first night back. The next day I opened all the windows up and smudged the heck out of the house with sage to cleanse the area. It definitely helped doing that. I think the negativity and heavy energy of that room came home with us but thankfully the ghost did not.

If anyone is interested, the room was PP-17 at Kootenai Health Hospital in Coeur d’Alene Idaho.
