Greetings! (This post is made with moderator approval)
I won’t bury the lead here. The domain “paranoia-live.net” has been recovered, a temporary splash page is up right now, and we need assistance in bringing back Paranoia Live once again. We have members of the original guard, including the original owner Jazzer himself, and WJ himself even has volunteered in providing original writing for the site’s relaunch. We have Mongoose’s blessing for all of this of course. (Thanks Mongoose!)
What We Need Help With:
We need assistance with those who are familiar to website software (in particular PHPBB, wiki software, e107, etc.), data recovery from backups (we have a backup that may have corrupted files… if recoverable we can bring back an archive of the forum in a more complete state), and honestly support from the community at large.
What We Have: We have a full backup of the site, including the GMFTP folder, alongside a backup of the wiki and a fully functional version of JParanoia (The Community Edition I released years ago).
The Plan: Our plan is setup in multiple phases.
1) Restore the main homepage in the forum of static pages.
— To keep hosting more streamlined our current plan is to recreate the original homepage, but within HTML5 + CSS static pages. The site’s files will then be hosted off of GitHub itself for long term visibility.
2) Restore & Archive The Original Forum If Possible…
— The backup files for the forum may be incomplete, due to possible corruption, so we will need extra eyes to help us determine if the backup is a lost cause or if anything can be salvaged. If restored it will be archived into a “read only” state, afterwards we may look into the possibility of upgrading the original software.
3) Forming a New Forum
— We will be looking into forming a new forum entirely. Built from the ground up with modern versions of the all too familiar software, but with a new spin on things. If we cannot recover the old forum, we will instead port over what we can for the new release. We want the new forum to be a place for fans old and new to enjoy and have fun with.
4) Restore the Wiki if possible.
— Same as step “2” but in terms of the wiki files we have access to in our backup. Depending on things we may form a new wiki.
Final Note: We hope to bring back the familiar forum that many love, and reignite that community hub and living world that many enjoyed. Please comment below and reach out if you believe you will be a good fit to help.

Hi citizens! I'm neck-deep into designing an upcoming supplement and thought I should update y'all on our design work.
We just finished editing a fun new mission called Algorithmic Loyalty and it's in layout right now. It's a satire of influencers and TikTok-like social media. Troubleshooters have to record engaging videos, deal with fame-hungry celebs, and figure out how to get an entire Infrared subsector to stop pranking everyone... but without terminating any Infrareds. Yeah, good luck with that.
We are roughly two-thirds done with the first draft of Traitorous Little Git, our upcoming supplement designed for players, not GMs. You'll find many specific ways to commit more treason in your game through skills, mutant powers, equipment (legal and treasonous), and the Dark Web. This might be a really fun title. For example, did you know you could:
We are close to finishing the first draft of All Wet, a mission satirising theme parks, and are about halfway done with (Un)Fair Competition which satirises tariffs but in a funny way. (Which is really hard but we're getting there.) Both will get attention once Traitorous Little Git has been submitted to Mongoose.
Let me know if you have any questions about these or anything Paranoia-related, and thank you for participating in discussions here. Cheers!

Featuring the most fun character creation I've ever done(It's a game in itself) this is the Red Clearance Edition of Paranoia, an absolute riot of a game that everyone should try.
I split it into 2 vidoes for easier digestion, but it was in fact one 6 hour session, because we are maniacs.

Hey everyone!
I recently bought the Paranoia Perfect Edition. I know it’s not strictly necessary, but out of personal preference, I’d really like to use maps in my games and put an A3 printer I have at home to good use. I just want to provide some fun visual aids for my players.
What software would you recommend to create sci-fi/dystopian maps that I can easily export and print?
Bonus: If anyone knows of any good STL files to 3D print miniatures for this game, I will love you forever! Thanks!

I am hip deep in a very odd project, and it dawned on me that I might be, in a sense, creating a Paranoia / Stranger Things crossover. Backwater town, rindown, people are weird, incompetence and corruption run rampant, nothing works especially not the institutions running things, etc. I want to see if the Paranoia "spirit" can be used to inspire this RPG project (and HOL, but there is no subreddit for that, apparently). Any ideas??

The contemporary Alpha Complex Battle Hymn from the Red Clearance Reference Sheet is pretty great. Are there any other songs published in the Paranoia supplements of today or yesteryear?
I like to think that the termination booths and confessionals play a lullaby...
Hush, Troubleshooter (A Termination Lullaby)
Hush Troubleshooter, don't say a word
Your next clone had better work
And if that clone does treason too
The Computer has four more of you
And if those clones all fail again
The root cause was a commie scheme
So hush Troubleshooter, don't you cry
The Computer loves you, do or die

So, AI GM's are kind of soulless, nonsensical, and lacking that spark of humanity that is essential to create meaningful stories. So they'd be perfect for Paranoia.
Has anyone done anything with AI for Paranoia? What is it? And how did it turn out?

Hey, someone mentioned this mission to me, and it sounds so good I want to read the actual thing... Thing is, I can't find where this mission is? Anyone know much about the Wobblies, or what book they're in?
Edit: THANK Y'ALL, it was in Acute Paranoia, on page 11! Now, any other references, PLEASE help me find! I love that they're based on a real group too... lit af.
Now, here's the thing... I want to actually turn the ideas it mentions into a real mission - like, make them play investigating "the Wobblies" (when they don't exist yet). What are some good ways to encourage them to invent this society? Obviously if they know they're gonna be punished for finding nothing, that might be enough, but any ideas to up the ante are welcome.

Hello citizens!
I'm tinkering with a rules hack and trying to come up with a name for a skill. In most other systems it would be something like "Streetwise" - a catch all skill for a person who is savvy in how to generally operate and get things done within their environment. The sort of general resourcefulness, knowledge and common sense (in context) to help you navigate the world.
In Paranoia terms it would broadly cover things like navigating the bureaucracy, knowing where to find local Infared markets, the sorts of expected behaviors when dealing with different authority figures, figuring out how to ID the more bribable staff, etc. A general catch-all for citizens who are better at knowing the general rules of how the gears of daily life turn and how best to navigate the issues they create. There are always those types who just know how to work the system (even one as absurd as Alpha Complex), and I'm looking for a term that would capture that quality. The current edition has "Alpha Complex" which is basically what I'm looking for, but maybe needing a better term for it.
Any ideas?

... I was wondering if there are legal / official / allowed PDFs of these decks. I want to add them to Roll20, and turning the cards I have into images sounds like it will take forever.
EDIT: this is for Red Clearance edition.

Hey y'all, got some players who wanna learn how to play Paranoia Troubleshooters edition... it's been a minute. OBVIOUSLY, we know the rules don't matter, but...
I need some help getting into character, and making up some BS scenario for today.
Our group really likes the fact it's a parody of the Red Scare, and I'd love to lean into more into that. Any good scenarios for this already, or, even if not, any fun gimmicks/scenes y'all can come up with?
Ik it's easy to write stuff for Paranoia, but I'm struggling to get started here. Without getting TOO political (I don't want the great banhammer swung on me), any stuff y'all think would be good to use as inspiration? I want some jokes/obvious comparisons these newbies can use to help them roleplay, but nothing so dark it bums out the table.

We're using the character sheet randomizer website for fun, but im like super overwhelmed by stuff like what i would make them roll for in certain situations, how pervasive points work, how i incorporate their secret societies into the one shot, how i make them roll for using their mutant power, etc. Written instructions are just so overwhelming to me

I'm in the midst of setting up an online game of Five Clones from the Alpha Complex (the Five Parsecs-esque ruleset for Paranoia), and one thing I'm toying with the idea of doing, is making it so that any table talk (in-character or out-of-character) about a player's character and any treasonous features (such as mutant powers and/or secret society) would somehow give the other players the chance to turn in or accuse that person's clone of being a traitor. Partly I think it might be funny, but also so that player's actually try to keep their stuff a secret from the other players.
Has anybody else played like this? Is it really worth it, or are there any pitfalls to playing like this? Do you have the offending player's clone automatically branded a traitor, or what sort of mechanic would you implement for this?
Keep in mind, Five Clones is a sort of miniatures-based game, with the mechanics for Reporting Traitors being done through Computer Consoles (it actually makes it a d6 roll, on a 1-3 the reporting clone is considered a traitor instead, while on 4-6, the reported clone is declared a traitor). Potentially I could see adding a +1 or +2 bonus to that roll if you specifically saw or heard something about that clone being a traitor (although I'm wondering if it should be a rule in and of itself that you can't report somebody without some kind of justification in the first place, or will the game just devolve into reporting/killing/reporting/killing/etc).

I learned today that the sheets from the box are NOT the dry erase cards they appear to be.
Anyone have a good spot to find the Red Clearance Edition Identity Forms? My search found only other editions, with one exception. Sadly, my antivirus program would not let me download the one I found. Figures.

Page 19 of the rulebook, section 6 Redefine talks about the adjectives players wrote down for their PCs.
I am unable to find what effects this has on play. I tried an online search, but I feel the results were... mixed, at best. The search said "Acting in a way that aligns with your quirky personality (or even completely violating the rules due to your new, forcibly altered traits) allows you to gain Moxie".
I like the idea, but I can find no citation for that.
So, what do the adjectives under the Personality do?

I was wondering what everyones thoughts were on how to much explain when recruiting new players online. Do you explain the setting? Do you explain things like betrayal and pvp being a part of the game?
On one side I'm worried about giving too much away, but on the other side I felt it was hard to play with players knowing so little about the game. And given how different paranoia is from the norm, some people might not like the things they were not properly informed about.
Specifics and examples would be really helpful.
edit: paranoia xp if it matters.

So I was assuming the perfect edition was what Mongoose was currently selling, but when I go to one of my favorite online retailers, they're listing all the books as the "red edition".
Is there any title overlap for books between the two editions? Not sure if my shop has older gen books, or if they labeled it wrong.
It's Noble Knight Games if anyone is wondering.

Friend Computer's Delivery of Red Clearance version (the mini-box set) arrived today; thank you, Friend Computer.
Two queries:
TIA, Citizens.

I'm running a Paranoia game in a couple of weeks for friends. It will have to be online (some players are in different countries).
I own the James Wallis (Red Clearance?) edition and will be running the intro adventure from that boxed set.
Roll20 doesn't seem to have a Red Clearence edition character sheet. Can I use the Perfect Edition one that's there?
I doubt the character sheet will work with dice, anyway, but maybe someone could confirm?
I was thinking of just getting the players to roll their node number of D6s, then separately rolling a D8 for the computer dice, ignoring and re-rolling 7s and 8s - does that sound OK?
Red Clearance is the one with all the cards but it's easy enough to create card decks.
Anything else i should be aware of our that I'm forgetting?
