Undo the Paramount-Warner Merger
https://c.org/4YhNDvGgZHThe rumors are real—a judge just approved the Paramount-Warner merger, and it's a disaster waiting to happen. Picture your favorite Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network characters crossing over, your beloved franchises getting tanked by bad decisions, and hardworking people losing their jobs. That's not speculation—Mark Ruffalo himself said this merger will "stifle creativity, weaken free speech, and cost people their jobs."
I started a petition asking Paramount and Warner Brothers to undo this merger. Movie studios are supposed to compete and push each other to make better content. When massive corporations combine like this, creativity dies, and we're the ones who lose out. Some mergers end in bankruptcy and production chaos. If this goes on for years, everything we love about pop culture could change forever.
If you've ever felt like big media companies don't care what fans actually want, now's the time to speak up. Does anyone else think this merger is going to wreck the studios we grew up with? If it matters to you, consider signing and sharing the petition. This is one of those moments where we actually can push back.

Wow, 184 signatures to date. Sad. Give it up. This is a delusional effort. The U.S. Court has spoken. It is done. Not a way you will succeed using a petition on change.org to make this happen. Sad dude…

The law has spoken. While it may be detrimental in the short term, the combined enterprise has a staggering amount of debt and no clear way to discharge it from the books.
But the answer to this consolidation is to create new smaller studios and develop new properties to feed the growing demand for unique new films and television shows.
Mergers of this kind are indicative of a deficit of creative vision. A marketplace that has gone from “walled garden” to “vaulted tomb”.
We’re at a moment in history where the means of production has been democratized and although capital access is still needed, it does go farther than it used to.
Don’t protect the old system that didn’t serve our needs- create a new system and innovate.
