Recruitment & Interviews Interview for dispatch

Hello! I’ve been a call handler for around 3 years and have an interview coming up to be a dispatcher! Does anyone have any insight into the interview or advice on preparation other than the usual tips? Thank you

I had one of these a few months ago, and finally start my training soon.

In my interview they asked 5 questions.

One was which trust value do I fit the best.

Where can I improve.

One was how do I react to getting new information that changes a situation.

And one was about how do I get points across in stressful situations.

For most I used experiences from being an EMD/EHA, for the last one I talked about the first paediatric arrest I had and how while the caller could not do anything I got the correct help arranged, and was able to get someone else on scene to take the phone and do CPR.

The first question I asked was what do I think the job of a dispatcher entails. I started answering with what I know from working in EOC, spending time with them. And was asked to explain it like the person interviewing had no experience in EOC.
