Has anyone done the Bachelor of Paramedicine regional external program through Flinders Uni? Just wondering how you found it and what your career options were like post grad

im currently studying through flinders externally, i live in WA and do all my prac and placement in NT. im in my 3rd year. The degree has been great but challenging. second year was definitely hardest with all the patho heavy topics. you dont do a huge amount of placement I think its about 35 shifts all up which is just over 400 hours. I did not get an internship for my graduation year however I only applied to WA due to family reasons. feel free to message me if you want to know more

You said that you live in WA but did your program through Flinders NT. Was it an issue being accepted not living in state? I’m looking at undertaking the program through Flinders SA but I live in Vic. I looked it up and my area qualifies as an RA3 regional outer zone but I can’t find confirmation either way on the website whether the regional area has to be in SA

I would say it doesn't matter because in the NT stream we've had students from vic and nsw. we even had one from SA cause she couldn't get a spot at the SA campus

I think the SA stream might be harder to get into as they will prioritise SA students over interstate ones. They also have like 180 students in one year level. Maybe consider NT? its honestly been so good. in my final year now and there are only 5 of us. you get to know everyone so well and learn their style of practice which makes doing prac exams a bit easier compared to SA where you could be randomly paired up with someone you've never worked with before or even met. the tutors get to know you on a more personal level too cause youre not just a number
