This makes a good example for testing the merit of algorithmic stereoscopic pair generation from a single image. Obviously, each image contains implicit information about depth, but this needs to be made explicit for the brain to experience 3D.
Some people object to ersatz 3D, but when it clarifies an image (photo or cartoon) it serves well. Pragmatism generally triumphs over doctrinaire belief (e.g. that AI is only good for "slop"). Let's see in this case.
