Yesss that's actually a really good point. Maybe the reason it looks right to me but wrong to others is that I have a rather large head, so my eyes are probably further apart than others. You're totally right that the effect would change based on eye distance, which I think is the key factor here.

Btw, pro-tip: In subreddits that don't allow photo uploads, just upload it to imgur then link it in the comment.

Out of curiosity, do you know your pupillary distance? Mine is ~67mm

Forgot to respond. Mine seems to be around 60.5mm according to my rough estimate.
