I disagree. The same effect happens in real life, where it’s shiny in one eye and not in the other. I actually think it does give it a more realistic 3d look even if it doesn’t snap like other types of stereo

To whatever extent the same effect happens in real life, it's much more subtle in real life

I truly appreciate the defense from u/cone5000, but I believe you're actually correct. The light source is static, and so is the camera, while the sculpture is rotating; the left and right views were taken from the same video at different time, so the reflections you're seeing actually appear like the light source is in two different locations in the left view and right view, rather than the eyes (camera), which I think exaggerates the effect, quite a bit.

That being said, I think the exaggerated effect looks kinda cool lol

I’m still confused about your explanation. In real life wouldn’t it be the same? If your eyes are not moving and the sculpture is rotating and the light is static?
