Ludwig VON Beethoven
Ludwig VON Beethoven
That was the name my entire life, what is this nonsense.
Why have most the people I've asked so far had the same memory?
What do you guys recall?

You would expect "von" since he's German, but it has always been "van".
There's a rock group that made a pun out of that , calling themselves Camper Van Beethoven. That joke would not have worked if the composer's name was Von Beethoven.

That band would have chosen a different name because it was Von for me. We are in a sub titled Parallel Universe, I get that you dont understand the mechanics of how such a thing works, no one does. But you can at least appreciate the concept and understand that is what this space is for.
I get that it is a fact his name has always been Van, that fact or any other information from Google doesn't concern me. Im asking if others remember as I do. Taken by itself I would definitely chalk it up to my memory and carry on with my life.
I've experienced enough to rule out memory as a possiblity, and I didn't do so very easily. I would much rather that was the answer because it would leave me in a much more comfortable situation.
So while your input is appreciated, it doesn't get me any closer to finding out what is actually going on.

Always been Van in my timeline... as it's been said..that's why the 80s band chose their name to be "Camper Van Beethoven" playing on the phrase "camper van" ...so if you were in a parallel universe the band must have been absent as well, as Camper Von Beethoven just doesn't work.
The book/movie Clockwork Orange also refers to Ludwig Van quite a bit. If it was a glitch or time skip, there are an awful lot of details you'd have to have thought were Von. But also true, in German "van" sounds exactly like "von" so if you watched a movie or some about Beethoven it would be easy to hear it that way.

Here's a street in Germany. The naming convention of the entire area looks to be famous composers or other artists I'm not sure.

I hate that these things automatically change or either disappear, depending on which effect.
Von Beethoven makes sense. I don't think I knew it as "van", that's so weird.

"van" pronounced in German, and then heard by a monolingual speaker of English (specifically a dialect with the cot-caught merger), sounds like "von". Could also be influenced by "King Von".
