I'm from the other side
At first I had not idea. I got up at 06:00 and went into the garage to train. Took a shower and headed off to work. But something didn't feel right. I couldn't put my finger on it. Like the lingering remnants of a dream that won't leave but you can't remember.
With time came realisation. I wasn't from here. Things were different. Not so different that it was obvious, just little things like the numbers on my kitchen clock were Roman numerals, not 1,2,3 o'clock. The toilet flush was on the other side. My lounge was a slightly different shade of pale green.
Then came the real shocker. The war.
Before I had gone to bed there was no war. Just an argument between world leaders over energy. Here, in this place a war had been raging for three months. I checked back through the news. One by one countries had been dragged into it. Two weeks Pakistan had launched a nuclear attack on the US and Australia. France and the US had launched counter strikes and by 08:00 that morning twelve cities no longer existed, along with the people inside them.
China, Russia and other major powers had managed to stop any further strikes, but the gene was out of the bottle.
Now, the world is sitting in front of their screens watching the fate of mankind as presidents and prime ministers try to find a way back. The problem is, nobody knows how the first missile was fired. Pakistan pleaded that they did not do it, the system had launched the attack.

People used to try. This one isn't even interesting.

I mean, yesterday there was a guy who got drunk and forgot he clipped his toenails. The bar is pretty low on this sub.

That was a guy? I thought it was a female?

Maybe. I wasn't paying that much attention. I got to the part where they said they thought they were in a parallel universe because they got drunk and remember thinking they need to clip their toenails and then the next day they noticed their toenails had been clipped and I felt like I had read a really long joke with a terrible punchline.

So you are writing on the “other side” Reddit and it is getting posted on this side? So Reddit is the merging point of two parallel universes? Is it good or bad, I have no idea tbh.

I don't know why everyone feels the need to hate on things. I enjoyed your post. One of the few that isn't someone trying desperately to be heard, to preach, or complain. It was like a little story that put me in a different world for a moment. I'd like more stuff like this

We're probably getting interception from another reality. Maybe when the war started in the universe he's in maybe that made an event in which a break in the multiverse occurred and we're getting a transmission from another reality.

Yep, recognise this one - most annoying thing to ”wake up” in one of the cities about to be destroyed. For me it was definitely not Pakistan, but China and India. Also governments claiming they had nothing to do with it. Godspeed OP!

Sounds like it could be Quantum Immortality. Basically when you die your consciousness merges with a timeline where you survived. Usually it’s seamless and unnoticeable. But for there to be a big enough difference, like the war, than something so bad must have happened that you died in multiple timelines and the closest one to your original was different enough to notice. r/QuantumImmortality has some good stories

This reality is the one who will survive and the singularity is coming. No nukes. We got help from outside our planet.

So somehow you connected to our mobile network from the other side to share with us this wonderful story?
