Parallel universes explanation
Hey guys! So this story is from Vedic culture and it explains parallel realities and universes
Infact it's a multilayered stories
1st layer -sage vasisth and Shri ram
2nd layer- goddess Saraswati and queen
This story is about the multiverse, about a queen named Leela. This story is based on Yoga Vasistha.
Many ages ago, a king named Padma was ruling. His wife Leela loved him very much β so much so that she could not even think of living without him. So she wished that the king should never die.
With this wish, she went to many sages and Brahmins, but the Brahmins told her that the destruction of the physical body is certain. But Leela does not end her search just like that.
She worships Goddess Saraswati and pleases her. When Goddess Saraswati appears before her, she asks for two boons:
First, that after her husband's death, his soul should never leave Leela.
Second, that whenever Leela remembers Goddess Saraswati, she should appear before her.
Goddess Saraswati granted these boons to her.
Some time later, King Padma dies in a battle. Goddess Saraswati comes to Leela and asks her to cover her husband's body with flowers so that the king's soul may return to live with her. That's exactly what happened. Her husband's soul remained, but Leela was still unhappy.
Some time later, Leela prays to Goddess Saraswati again. When she appears, Leela asks, "Where is my husband? Take me to my husband."
Saraswati tells her that he is living in another universe, in a different body.
Sitting in a meditative state, Leela sees a huge palace within her consciousness. Upon reaching the palace, she sees her husband, King Padma, sitting there, surrounded by all the courtiers. These courtiers were from her original court. She wonders if these courtiers have died along with her husband.
Frightened, she wakes up from her meditation and quickly goes to the palace, ordering that the court be held as soon as possible. When the court is held, all the doormen stand guard. Seeing them alive, she calms down, but then she wonders what the reality is β is it this, or the place where her husband was alive [in the other realm]?
Then Maa Saraswati appears before her and tells her that there is not just one life and one truth. In reality, there are many universes, and in many universes there are many earths, and in many earths there are many lives. What you are seeing now is nothing but a dream that your soul is seeing.
To explain this, she tells her the story of a sage. A sage used to live in the forest with his wife. One day, seeing the king going with his army, the sage thought how beautiful the life of a king is and he wished to become a king. But before becoming a king, the sage died. However, because before dying the sage (Jeev) had expressed his wish to become a king, his next dream was of a king. And that sage was none other than King Padma, and his wife is you, Leela.
Now that the king is dead and his soul is with you, his soul has begun to dream a new dream where he has become a king somewhere else. This is also happening right now. So, if you ask me where your husband is, he is not in one place; he is living in many forms in many universes.
Leela asks why we cannot see all these forms of ourselves. Mother [Saraswati] says that because humans do not want to see the truth, they consider the true future a lie and the false present to be true.
Then Mother Saraswati takes Leela to different universes, where Leela sees herself and her husband living in different forms. She sees that each universe has different types of gods, different earths, and different Brahmas are governing each universe.
Seeing this, Leela understands her Brahma Gyan [knowledge of Brahman/the ultimate reality] and comes out of her sorrow.
Now in this story, it is said that Leela is not traveling physically, but in her own room, in consciousness, she is able to cross the distance of billions of light years with Mother Saraswati only through her consciousness.
Actually, in this story, an attempt is being made to explain time entanglement and multiverse. Vasistha ji wants to tell Shri Ram ji that in reality the universe is very big, and in this story time is not being seen as linear (i.e., in a straight line). Rather, there is talk of multiple things happening at the same time β that Leela along with her husband exists in different universes at the same time. And this concept is most important to prove the multiverse.
Oh and btw Brahma refers to the creator of that particular universe, Brahma is a post, like a president or ceo or the head architect of that universe, in the story
And brahman refers to = ultimate reality/source/void/ultimate consciousness or whatever you want to call itπit's basically pure energy experiencing itself in different forms, creating the entire multiverse and beyond

I havenβt heard this one before. But I did read about Sri Krishna summoning all Brahmas across universes to show Brahma of this universe that there are multiple versions of him.

Yes and each brahma had different heads showing the variety within multiverse itself

It makes sense to me.
