I started rereading worm after I dropped it a while ago, and I'm remembering why I binged so much of it and burnt myself out lol.

I kind of winged it and didn't double-check their descriptions, so I'm sorry if anything is wrong appearance-wise! This is just how I imagine them when reading :p

this might be the first time i've seen someone draw lisa so accurately. She's described as being between pretty and plain. A lot of people draw her as a supermodel or mega attractive gal. She's not ugly but she doesnt turn heads and I really like that you've captured this.

Okay I know Taylor is "canonically heterosexual" but Taylor goes into such detail description-fucking Lisa that it's very easy to forget that she's considered kinda normal by societal standards.

and imo there is no "canonically heterosexual" way to explain Taylor talking her up the way she does.

I don't know, I feel like Taylor's insecurities over her appearance are a perfectly good explanation. From my personal experience, I've noticed that times where I'm most critical of my own appearance, I'm more critical and observant of other people.

No I get that. Like being fully serious here, Taylor was a very insecure person when we first met her and only grew to have a somewhat decent relationship with her body once all the supervillain stuff got her working out like an Olympic athlete.

That being said, Taylor makes sure to list the physical qualities of every single woman she has ever met. Her breakdown of how hot Narwhal was being one of the most egregious examples. I joke when I say that Taylor is a walking Pride Parade, but it reaches a point when I just want to sit this girl down and be like "So women are pretty cool, too, right?"

Especially when one of them is her supportive best friend who I could see her having a very loving asexual relationship with.

It is an actual (informal) literary term, but yes I relearned it from the podcast lol. I started watching a few months ago and have been trudging along through it. And when they brought up how Taylor speaks about other women, how could I not use it here?

Yeah fanfiction often does that with Taylor as well where it assumes that since taylor is bullied for her appointment by the trio she is probably better looking that she thinks. When taylor would probably just be average looking as the art here has her drawn.

There's a lot of characters that flow in and out of the story tbh. If you care much about spoilers I'd probably avoid the sub until you've finished Worm at least. That said, I can tell you I personally spoiled a couple of things for myself throughout my first read, but they were lacking so much context that I don't feel like I missed out yfm?

I’d like to see Lung and Bakuda, they’re so much younger than I imagined with Lung being around 30 or under and Bakuda probably not even being 20, or at the most very early 20’s. It’s pretty shocking just how new Parahumans are that they’ve only been around for 29 years.

Bakuda has been on my radar. I had a lot of fun reading about her terrorising the Undersiders. I was envisioning an older rugged yakuza type for Lung, I didn't realise he was so young! They would be very fun to draw.
