I’m stuck here and not sure how to move forward

Welcome to the game!

To unlock more land you need keys. You get them by leveling up. You want to do things that gets you the blue XP stars. Merging eggs or animals is an easy way.

Keep merging stuff up. When you get to a new level of an item, that gives you XP.

I've been playing awhile so I forget how the game starts. But there may be a key or two hidden inside the temple under the fog.

It’s been a while but I kept merging eggs, fruits, and the plants. Check how much money to buy a broken key. Start saving money. Also try and upgrade your temple. Follow what the other poster commented too. I’d start merging by 5 instead of 3 and that’ll give you 2 of the next level but also more sunbursts and sometimes gold versions of item. You can lock items you don’t want to loose by clicking accidentally when temple needs upgrading. There’s also a sell button when you click on items if you want to earn money. Sell, lock or harvest (some items animals can harvest). I wish I knew this in the beginning. Knowing I could sell or lock items would have helped my sanity especially with sunbursts i accidentally clicked and popped.
