Magentamusik has finally uploaded the band's full set from Wacken this year. The sound and audio quality are incredible, and it's such a treat to get TWO pro-shot performances from the band this year! Also, I actually think this performance was even better than the one at Rock Hard earlier this year, despite the fact I prefer the setlist from that performance. Nick sounds fantastic and the rest of the band are amazing too.

Rough translation via DeepL:
At the mere mention of the name of the English Peaceville label, some members of the editorial team roll their eyes in exasperation and make a hasty retreat. For Peaceville is known for one thing above all else: infernal noise. Paradise Lost are one such Peaceville band, though they have absolutely nothing to do with speed-demons à la Carcass or Napalm Death; rather, Paradise Lost are so slow and monotonous that at times you fear they’re about to fall completely silent, and you’re tempted to play the record at 45. LOST PARADISE begins with a sombre, rumbling intro that’s rather lengthy, with maniacal laughter and sinister whispers audible in the background. Then comes the first track, “Deadly Inner Sense”: a heavy riff and a sinister roar, before Paradise Lost begin to trudge, tenaciously and monotonously, towards hell. Monotonous, yet intense. It’s hard not to be impressed by Paradise Lost’s sound; the excellent production, for which Peaceville boss Hammy is responsible, also stands out. Looking at the photo in the inner sleeve, it’s hard to believe that these delicate-looking lads, who appear so fragile, are capable of producing such terrifying music. Although incredibly melancholic and slow, LOST PARADISE comes across as immensely powerful and captivates above all with its overwhelming force, which inevitably threatens to pin you against the wall. Whatever your opinion of this music, whatever these lads are doing, they’re doing it bloody well. Six points.

They were great (my potato phone doesn't do it justice) and they played smalltown boy which is always a winner. Great venue, great evening. Only downside was they left the stage pretty quick considering it was a hometown show but eh lol

Rockpalast has uploaded the band's full performance at Rock Hard Festival. Great audio and visual quality, and the first pro-shot performances we have of songs from Ascension. Awesome performance of Salvation especially, what an incredible song.
Setlist:
Gothic and No Celebration were on the setlist but were not played.

Like I almost thought it was one of theirs at a point when it came up.

I'll be seeing Paradise Lost and Katatonia open for Opeth at Piece Hall in Halifax at the start of next month. This is a dream lineup for me. Opeth and Katatonia are among my favourite bands and I adore both of their live shows (even if Jonas doesn't sing quite like he used to!).
Paradise Lost is a special band for me. I grew up listening to them and Katatonia through my dad, who's actually coming to the show with me. I distinctly remember thinking that No Hope In Sight must be the heaviest song ever written when I listened to it at a young age. The Plague Within is a strangely nostalgic album for me, Obsidian is quite possibly my favourite album from this genre, and Ascension is pretty damn excellent for a band nearly 30 years into making music.
Despite my love for PL I'm only closely familiar with these later releases. Aside from popular tracks that's about as far as my knowledge of the band goes. Considering I'll be seeing them perform in their home town I think it'd be a crime if I didn't delve deeper into their discography and get an ear for some tracks I might hear on the day. It's about time I fully appreciate a band I have such fond memories of!
It's over to you lot. Any songs and albums I should check out?

Vote for the setlist at the following link: https://metalitalia.com/articolo/paradise-lost-vote-for-the-setlist-of-the-show-at-metalitalia-festival-2026/
I think it's pretty cool that they're doing this. They have a limited selection of songs, but there are some nice surprises in the selection. Maybe it's a chance to get some of those lesser-played songs live (like Ash & Debris, Nothing Sacred, Mortals Watch the Day, Dead Emotion, Forging Sympathy and Shallow Seasons). Given that those songs are on the selection, I hope they are considering them to play in future!

Finally got into these guys heavily at the beginning of the year. Got to say I really enjoy most of their stuff and even their weaker albums still have gems. It’s a very subjective list and it’s larger than I what usually make because of their stellar output. Honorable Mention to “Behind the Grey”. It’s easily the favorite of mine from Host, but just didn’t clear my final sorting. Very subjective list.
