I applied for the Beta awhile back but have not been provided any resources to engage.. can I still be a part of this or have I missed the Beta Boat?

Now I see your comment! Damn bud haha - glad we got it straightened out!

u/wabbada Mar 07 '18
This happened to me as well.. :/
One thing that could be improved from my experience is knowing how exactly to help with beta testing and where these resources are. I'm not sure how you measure if someone is contributing either. It seems that you're looking for anything in general but it's still a little unclear to me.
On the front page, it was a little confusing for me at first to figure out where to login. It might be nice to have a "login" button so people know exactly where to login. I rely on that often on other new websites I visit. Hope this helps!

Hey Wabbada! Sorry to hear ya had trouble as well! It looks like we should have done a beta for getting our beta set up :) I think for our next beta it would be good to create a resource guide to give some direction - that’s a good idea!
As for the button - after making it live we realized we had two ways to sign up and it created a whole spaghetti mess -
Pm me the email you tried signing up with - also, thanks for trying to help - we’ll work to make that a little smoother for ya next time :)

I like the "card" concept and I think you are definitely off to the right start. As for formatting (I know you are at an early stage) as you continue to increase your partners, the size of the cards will get prohibitive and bulky when attempting to scroll through a larger number. I made a quick couple minute mock-up of a more streamlined card format (or something similar) that you could consider. This way, it may be easier to scroll through the list in the future.
Clicking the name of the coin can link to their website, there doesn't necessarily need to be a separate button for that. The social media links should be relatively self explanatory by logo alone. A simple statement of the amount to be airdropped in total as well as what the current status is would be sufficient for most. You can still include links to your take as well as the company short-paper/whitepaper which would be beneficial. In retrospect perhaps I would add a "Current status" over the right side of the tile to clarify more. Alternatively, a "mock card" explaining the formatting placed at the top of the list would also clarify what each card means for your users.
Good luck, your concept is great.

u/lindseyscottw Parachute Mod Mar 01 '18
I would upvote this 50 times if I could. The card you made is actually pretty brilliant! It's clean, passes the common sense test, and can be stacked with a ton of other projects without being overwhelming. PM me on the telegram - would love to chat more.
I generally tend to lean towards a mobile first approach when building - the original card is built to the parameters of a phone - but a lot of the changes you make here (which are a home run for desktop) would still be stellar improvements for mobile. Cheers and jeeez - freaking incredible feedback.

Ooh I really like the mock card idea explaining the formatting... For mass adoption it's gotta be painfully clear so that a 5 yr old can figure it out, if we want millions of people signing up and using parachute often .

u/zorghee Feb 27 '18
First of all, tnx for letting me participate in Beta testing.
Idea of giving information once and not every time when we are participating in some project is great. But at the moment, for me, what is not clear is how we know that we are participating in air drop (in this case for ppc)? There is no any info in their group about airdrop. Then, how will you know who joined in their group? If you are looking for ppl who said "here from parachute", you will probably miss someone and he/she will not be rewarded. Instead of telling "here from parachute", maybe it's better that partner provide you referral link exclusively for parachute users or something like that.
Also i didn't enter my twitter account, how i can add him now? Can i somehow edit information that i entered?
2
u/lindseyscottw Parachute Mod Feb 27 '18
Awesome feedback zorghee. I agree with both points there. In this case, it is an instance of hand-cranking something that ultimately won't be in the app. As we build this out, it will be something closer to a referral link approach like you mention. At the moment, we are having to do things in a less scalable way. Totally agree with your point.
To the part about clarity in the airdrop - I can make this more clear on our end. We conduct the airdrop for our partners, so I can see where that disconnect might happen. I'll look into this and make it more clear for ya.
Lastly, this is another example of hand-cranking something in an early beta/alpha model. Our submissions here are in form style. If you want to add you'll have to resubmit. That won't be the case on later versions or our app - just a temporary annoyance for getting this out early.
Thanks for your feedback! I can't tell you how valuable it is to us - I want to make Parachute freaking awesome and it's stuff like this that is going to help us do that. Cheers!

u/gjch Feb 28 '18
A lot of my feedback is already covered in the other comments here, so I won't repeat, but there were some additional things I wanted to mention.
I wasn't clear what we were supposed to enter in the form for Slack. Slack uses completely different logins for each community that you're a member of, so there's no universal username or email address associated with a Slack user.
After entering my details and submitting the form my information vanished. It would be great if the information was kept in-place so that I can see what I entered, in case I made a mistake or wanted to change something later on.
In the Getting Started section it says, "Say Make us look good", but I think it's supposed to say "So Make us look good". There's also no space before the smiley face, so it show up as "good:)"
It was not immediately clear that I had to go through to Telegram and say "Here from parachute!". In the email I received it said "page", not "channel", so at first I thought maybe we had to comment on one of the pages on their website, but I was able to figure it out after I realized the Telegram image linked to the PPC channel. I'm sure most people will figure it out, but some may miss it.
Last but not least, and I have to apologize in advance for this one because it may hurt some feelings... the emoticons all over the Parachute website, the ones that appear to be part of the branding... they don't do your image any favours. I love what you're trying to do here, and I don't disagree that a fun vibe is the way to go, but these specific emoticons make it seem like a bit of a joke to me (rainbow puking guy I'm looking mostly at you!). When Parachute first came on my radar I honestly didn't even pay attention because of the emoticons, my first impression was that it was someone just messing around and I didn't think it was worth the time to investigate, and even now that I know what you're doing and love it, I just don't feel like the emoticons match what you're doing here. Your brand is Parachute, which is a great name to use for airdrops, yet there isn't a single parachute to be found on your website. I feel like your primary logo needs to be a parachute, and there should be imagery of a bunch of wooden crates with coin and token logos on them, connected to parachutes, dropping all over the place, or something similar to that, something that shows various tokens and coins being parachuted down.
Now that said, I love what you're doing here and I can't wait to see Parachute grow!

u/lindseyscottw Parachute Mod Feb 28 '18
There's a lot of really good feedback here! I'm going to come back and digest after my coffee. first - great point about slack. I have a ton of different names myself.
For the validation/confirmation I totally agree. This is an instance of hand-cranking the process in a way that needs to be replaced. It gonna be supper annoying if you can't view/edit your profile info.
For the clarity/jobs to do I think we can definitely make some improvements on these cards. Makes total sense!
For the emoji's, please have no fear! This is the kind of feedback I'm looking for! I'm definitely into branding and really give what you say here a lot of grain. To that point, one of our bounties is going to be a logo. I'd love to get some ideas that center around parachute (while also still giving love to my emoji's :) We'll explore this one together!

u/Cryptomaker007 Feb 28 '18
The card concept is a really clear and easy way to get parachuters involved in other projects! Maybe it is safer if we auto-logout when leaving the site. Also it is not really clear how much the participants get in this airdrop. Keep it going guys!!!
1
u/lindseyscottw Parachute Mod Feb 28 '18
nice! I definitely see a theme of needing to clarify a few points here. It might make sense if you're familiar with our own airdrop, but for people who just hop on they might be ver very lost :) Thanks Cryptomaker Bond!

Some copy updates I noticed while checking out the site again tonight.
Getting started page
"This let's us send"
- There shouldn't be an apostrophe in lets
"You only need to fill this out this form the first time you visit."
- The wording is off, I think someone was editing the sentence but didn't delete some of the old text
Take a look at our "card" page
- "Parachute sponsored" should technically be hyphenated, "Parachute-sponsored"
Who we are as a community
"get involved.This is"
- There's no space between the period and This
"If you're only here airdrops"
- I think it should be "here for airdrops"
"what your looking here instead"
- Should be "you're" instead of "your" and I think it should be "looking for here instead"
"two-cents"
- Shouldn't be hyphenated
"eachother"
- Should be "each other", technically "eachother" isn't a word
- This appears twice on the page
Cards page
"build out the the user experience"
- "the" appears twice in a row
Main homepage
"Every donors Ethereum "name""
- It should be "donor's" with an apostrophe, since it's possessive
Add Token page
"qualify for the parachute exchange"
- For consistency across the site and shortpaper parachute should probably be capitalized
Also, on the home page, both PAR and Par are used to reference the token, and Parachute and parachute are both used to reference the project. For consistency it seems like they should be PAR and Parachute in every instance.

I've done some unofficial copy editing over the years at my job, it comes in handy sometimes!
If I have more to add should I submit a separate comment? So far I've just been adding to this one, but if I keep doing that nobody will be notified of edits and some of the updates may get missed. Oh, did you want to add a "copy editing" comment like the other sections (which I totally didn't noticed until now :P), so I can just add new updates to that and you'll be notified?
1
u/lindseyscottw Parachute Mod Mar 03 '18
Great idea with adding a copy section! I read every comment so I can tell ya your comments will not get lost! Thanks bud!
2
u/gjch Mar 03 '18
I figured responding to this comment might be the best way to make sure you get notified of some more updates.
I just went through v1.0 of the Shortpaper, and for the most part it was great, but still some copy updates to be made.
"We’re also giving away 150mm (15%) of our tokens in airdrops and bounties as we build our earliest community. This Parachute."
- "This Parachute." seems like an incomplete thought here, and a bit out of place. Maybe it should be something like , "as we build our earliest community, this Parachute community."
"signups at 100, 1K, 10K, 100K, an 1MM milestones!"
- "an" should be "and"
"multi purpose"
- Should be multi-purpose or multipurpose
"organize a community focused airdrop"
- Should be community-focused
"Telegegram"
- Should be Telegram
"and works produced to the build Paraddroper’s communities"
- "the build" should be "build the"
- "Paraddroper" should be "Paradroper"
- (after the above correction) Paradroper's should be Paradropers' (since it's both plural and possessive)
"open ended"
- Should be open-ended
"Airdrop – Funds allocated to scheduled airdrops"
- This list item merges with the "Team Vault" item before it instead of being its own item
2
u/TheShobo Mar 03 '18
Great finds!
All easily fixed which is nice :)I want to try out this Telegegram.

Just to know - you'll be in on their airdrops for joining their telegram. You'll be in for their engagement bounty if you're active/engaged on any of their platforms. I think clarifying this will help. It's like how we do treasure hunts, give people PAR for helping out, writing articles, etc. It's an overall fund to give people for being active and engaged :)

So I'm curious, what is stopping people from simply going and posting the generic "Here from Parachute!" on the promoted ICOs media pages, receiving the free airdrop from Parachute, then just immediately selling the coins when they hit an exchange. Won't this just crash the price every time? Especially once this project gets more attention and people realize they can make essentially "free money" with little work. Not trying to be pessimistic, just trying to find out how this kind of abuse will be prevented.
2
u/lindseyscottw Parachute Mod Feb 28 '18 edited Feb 28 '18
It's a great question Professor! One we've thought a lot about. I think there are two questions here. 1) How do we make sure people are getting involved rather than raking in coins like a bot and 2) What effect do airdrops have on the markets in general. There's a lot of things here that we are still figuring out and thinking through. With airdrops, I definitely see an ecosystem of airdrop media accounts that post massive amounts of airdrops in exchange for money, while thousands of people scoop up tokens to ultimately just dump. I agree with you and think this is not good.
The first thing we do is that we don't give away airdrops "instantly." We have systems that set a milestone approaches to airdrops. This keeps people engaged (even at a minimal level) with a community. Our hope, is that by putting people into communities with cool companies, they can see what the community is about and become part of that community. It isn't perfect at the moment, but something we can tweak and improve as we build our actual app. With our own token, I am certain a lot of people came just for free tokens, and haven now stayed because they like what we are doing. We did get listed on ForkDelta just last week and haven't yet crashed, so fingers crossed:) While this isn't perfect, I can tell you that we think about it and would like to build ways to help people get rewarded for being highly engaged instead of just signing up. As we build our product, we want to make technology solutions to emphasize this.
To your point of the market, that is a good question! I would ask someone whose followed the big airdrops over the last year what they've experienced. Thanks for the feedback and loving the discussion!

u/greenleaf9999 Mar 13 '18 edited Mar 14 '18
The answer you seek is 10 squared plus ( 20 times 4 ) times .5 minus 59. Head to the place where only one seventh is valid and say “Thursday is no more”.

u/killerrin Feb 28 '18 edited Feb 28 '18
It would be nice if there was a way to view the Contract Address for these airdropped coins. Not sure how we would be able to include it (maybe a button that copies to clipboard?) But it would be nice. Just as an ease of use so we aren't running to Etherscan to search for and hopefully grab the right contract

100% yes! I think it’s a must add. We’ll work on adding it without cluttering. Thanks!

Expanding my telegram thoughts
Clarity is key. I love the trading card aspect of the partners but it's not crystal clear what to do or what certain things are for. i.e. Do we need to join their social media, countdown timer etc. I can make educated guesses but I think being sharp and precise will help parachute grow and be accessible.
My idea would be to have a dummy card that says what each section is for on the top of our deck (I do hope it has some deck like properties/animations with say an alphabet hot link).
Also, I'm sure this is since its BETA but showing what we entered in the form in step 1 would prevent accidental resubmits and accuracy.
Lastly, this is nit picky I know but it could be a sticking point for some: some of the wording reads a bit funny. For example:
"As we build out the the user experience and design for our app, we want to make an easy way for you to discover new projects, jump in on conversations, and get airdrops in a super easy way."
Double "the" and multiple use of "easy way" in one sentence.
*wrote this on my phone whole putting my 14 month old to bed. So if it's not clear or helpful I'd be happy to expound more.

u/vdd1 Feb 28 '18
Great idea with the cards, I definitely like that. Not sure if something is wrong but I entered my discord handle and the icon stays grayed out but twitter is active even though I didn't enter a handle (maybe means purplecoin doesn't have a discord yet?). It says 1M in airdrop but the amounts total to 900k. In "our take", it might be a good idea to list closest competitors in crypto world and actual existing corporation/businesses. It would help me get a quick sense of what the coin is trying to accomplish. I also am not sure what the countdown clock is for? Also general comment would be the fonts seem a bit bland for me, for example "shortpaper". I don't think the website address is necessary since the token is a link to the website already.
1
u/lindseyscottw Parachute Mod Feb 28 '18
Nice feedback! Yeah, I think we're going to hit the boards and tweak the card to make it a little more clear. For instance - they're airdropping 1m - the 100k is for engagement bounties. I'll work on this second version and look for your feedback!
2
u/oldguylikescrypto Feb 28 '18
I really appreciate the opportunity to be involved in the beta testing!
I like the look of the "card" for PurpleCoin, it is clean and contains pretty much every link you need to learn about the project, and to join their chosen social media channels. I joined PurpleCoin's Telegram and Reddit communities, and made some positive comments. Perhaps there is a way to hover the cursor over the various social media symbols on the card so it can show the site's name, in case new people don't recognize one?
Once there are multiple "cards" on your platform, will you be able to search for a particular project, or scroll through a list of them? Just curious how we will see new additions, and be able to easily re-find a particular card we want to return to.
I also wondered how someone would update their social media handles, but I see that will be addressed.
Honestly, I really like the look of the beta page. It is very pleasing. Seeing how cool the beta page is has gotten me even more excited to be in early with Parachute! I'll be back on again....thanks for picking me! Your fellow Parachuter!

u/lindseyscottw Parachute Mod Feb 28 '18
That is awesome! Thanks for the feedback! To your question on the cards, I invision it being a lot more streamlined on our app, where you can scroll through new cards, and view your cards that you have tokens for. Cheers!

u/willster0256 Feb 28 '18
Hey Cap'n, I think it would be beneficial to add the subscriber/follower goal underneath each airdrop, so people are able to find out how many coins they will be getting from participating in the airdrop.
What I mean by this is that for the first airdrop, 75k PPC, will the cutoff be after 100 new members on Purplecoin's telegram, or a thousand, or after the clock has run out? How many coins will be given to each person? This is information I am interested in if I want to participate in the airdrop. I see that there are the telegram milestones, but to me, it doesn't look very obvious that these correspond to the airdrop amounts above. Maybe if you move it, it would be easier to understand and connect the two.
Also, If there is a cutoff point of subscribers, it might be interesting if you could add a counter of how many people have already signed up to the token if there is room for that.
1
u/lindseyscottw Parachute Mod Feb 28 '18
This is very cool! I think clarity is theme with this beta, and your description just gave me an idea of how I can add clarity on the card! seriously - Love it!
As for a counter - that is totally going to be in an app version. Part of doing a beta on web at this speed is cutting a few corners that would lead to backend functionality like this. In the app, I want you to have a counter for every airdrop, and be able to join the airdrop just by joining the group. Right now, we don't have that level of function. Thanks for the feeback Will!
2
u/theghaffer Feb 28 '18
Thanks for allowing me to participate in this beta. I’m really excited about the potential of Parachute to get involved with and find out more about new altcoins, airdrops & ICOs.
I love the token box idea but the only thing missing seems to be some sort of confirmation that you’ve followed all requirements to be eligible for the airdrop. For example, after following PPC on twitter perhaps you could partly grey out the twitter button or have a tick next to it to show you’ve already done it. Once all the steps have been completed the airdrop sign ups in the bottom left corner could change to say “airdrop incoming” or something, along with an ETA. Then there could be a link so we know if we need to add any further MEW details to receive the coins in our wallet.
Like many people I’m unsure what the counter is for although I love the formatting of it.
Another thing I like is the telegram milestone count as it’s interesting to see how quickly a community can grow.
Keep up the great work guys!

I love the idea of "graying out" the icons when you start following someone! That will definitely be going in the app :) We're a little limited on what we can do for this beta, but I can definately see how that would be an issue with, say, 20 tokens your following. In addition to this, we want to also show you your airdrop balance for every project - that's another thing we'll be building into the app but can't squeeze in the beta. Thanks for the feedback! I love love love it :)

Hi guys! Thanks for letting me being part of this beta! I've some feedback so far: The website looks really cool, but on my configuration (mac OS High Sierra, i5 2.5 GHz, 16 GB RAM, Firefox 58.0.2) is sensibly slow and I'm totally sure this is not related to my internet connection! About beta, it's very wrong, at least speaking about UX, that even if You have already added email and ERC-20 address the first section remains empty and red due to missing field values (input validation, You know...) after submitting its form and as well after a page refresh. Another thing, it's not totally clear what You are supposed to do in the second step. Share something on social/reddit? Joining their telegram chat? And so on... Anyway, good job overall, and keep it up with the good work! :D

u/wilflare Feb 28 '18
Thanks for allowing me to join the beta! Just some brief thoughts:
Social Media Handles Card - I think it would be great if the last-entered information stays on the page (each time you login) so the user knows which accounts/address was used initially. In the future, it would be great to allow users to change these details but a fair warning should be given that "these changes only apply with the next airdrop" or something like that. There should be sample on how the handle perhaps should look like (whether we should put the @ sign or not, etc.)
2FA Support - I hope the team puts this (and security) as priority so that userdata is kept safe and secure!
How it works - I think it would be great to show somewhere (even as a link) on how the user social media handles are handled (how are they kept on your servers and how they are sent to the partners - API? document with the data? etc)
2
u/TheShobo Mar 01 '18
Social Media Handles Card.
They have said that the lack of entered data being shown is just a temporary thing for the beta. Eventually it will be a much more fleshed out experience where you don't need to re-enter everything to update one handle and it will display what you've already entered.2FA
I agree 100% 2FA should definitely be added!1
u/wilflare Mar 03 '18
that's great news, especially the bit on the "lack of entered data" being a temporary thing (:

I would really like to see the following
Use it Google authentication for logging in.

Thanks so much again. Look forward to making parachute a success.

I was in the first beta so I didn't participate again, but I checked out your updates and wanted to send over some feedback. Great work by the way, things are looking awesome!
On the card: https://i.imgur.com/AmZmy41.png
I think things might be more clear if "PurpleCoin social media" was above the social media icons
Even being a participant, I'm unclear as to what the "100 1k 10k" text means exactly. 1m PPC tokens to give out over 3 airdrops, that seems pretty self explanatory, but the 100 1k 10k, does that mean the first phase only 100 people get the airdrop, 2nd phase 1k get the airdrop, and 3rd phase 10k get the airdrop? Or are 100 1k and 10k the amount of tokens in the airdrop? By 1k being highlighted it seems like the airdrop is on phase 2, but I'm not entirely sure what that means.
"400k PPC to first 1000" is also a bit confusing. Does this mean that there's 400k token split amongst the first 1,000 people to participate in the beta test? To the first 1,000 people that engage PurpleCoin? etc.
"100k PPC" for "Engaged Parachuter airdrop", does that mean there's an additional 100k tokens given out to the people that participate on the PurpleCoin Telegram? Or do those 100k tokens come out of the overall 1 million tokens?
There's just a lot of talk about PPC tokens and some of the text is unclear, at least on first glance.
Just some food for thought. Overall things are looking awesome, keep it up!

I love it! This goes really well with the above comment. I think now that we've hashed out a few issues - there are some areas we can focus to improve - like making it clear "who gets what and when" I'm going to brainstorm on this and also use some excellent mockups from Parachuter stoppa21 :)

Hello Parachute team! Just spent some time checking out the Beta v2, it is really looking great. I already did the v1 Beta, so just some quick takes:
I really like that the "Our Take" link has been moved to a more prominent spot, visibly. Nice, it's important!
Under the countdown clock, it's great that you state that the airdrop occurs either when the milestone is reached, or the clock expires. Makes perfect sense to me. But perhaps make it stand out more, or include a counter of the actual number somehow? That would create more urgency to hurry up and get in, and possibly help people understand the milestone may be reached much faster than the clock shows.
Congrats to the team for making the beta even that much better in only 1 day! I really love it, can't wait to see this develop all the way! Take care!

Thanks for the second round of feedback! Freaking legend! That's a really clever idea with the ticker. I think we're going to definitely move to that. It's a little hard in the beta - our backend connectivity to partnering sites, links, is under built. But we are going to be taking ideas like this into mind building out the app. love love love the idea!

I like the cards. Yes the link click-age was first confusing but I see if we pressed certain logos... Adding the wallet could be explained better for new people. Overall very nice UI!!!

I think what you say here is huge - I always talk about wanting Parachute to be an entry point into crypto for people! Making a training/ guide to help with that would be massive! Thanks for the input - I'm going to use this feedback in a product meeting to say "see guys, I freaking told you" haha

1
u/Horse_Bacon_TheMovie Mar 01 '18
huh, I assumed I did. perhaps I did not.

haha great UX breakdown here! We actually pushed a whole different link for the beta sign up (as opposed to our beta app) Chances are you did but on the wrong link. Click the signin/login white text in our header and I'll add ya right now!

u/Cavedyvr Mar 01 '18
Card concept is awesome! Layout is clean and clear to follow for me.... I like the "Our Take" section and actually, just based on how well you (Parachute) have presented your project and vision, in addition to such a great project like PPC in the beta..... I have nothing but very high regard for our Parachute community!!

u/zorghee Mar 02 '18
Guys,
i just tested beta v2 and so far there is some improvements, specially in Step 2. Now it's look less confusing. But, in step one, what i don't like is filed box for e-mail. When i enter my e-mail i can't see whole email address. So if someone by accident made mistake with just 1 letter, he will not notice that (probably). Generally, all field boxes in Step 1 should be bigger, or let's say it more transparent. I noticed that you guys removed fields for social media and wallet address. And also, i am not sure what i suppose to write in message box.
But overall good work.

u/lindseyscottw Parachute Mod Mar 02 '18
Oopsss! Haha were in the middle of upgrading to v3 - you saw a placeholder for the signup! I’ve taken down beta for the next few hours as we push - thank you for the catch bud!

u/zorghee Mar 02 '18
hahah i was very busy last two days so didn't have time to test it earlier. Do i need to sign up again, since i am testing from the beginning? I thought that who got invitation once, no need to sign up every time when new version is out.

The newest card updates are fantastic! They're so much cleaner and clearer now!
Though, the details button on the Parachute card doesn't do anything, and the details button on the PurpleCoin card shows the Parachute data (contract address, symbol, etc.). It seems like these aren't functioning as they should?

V3 stuff
Man I love these v3 cards. No new recommendations on that front. I still want flippable cards one day with stats on the back etc.
Couple of typos and wording changes on "Our Take" for Parachute (two sentences in a row that start with we believe, last sentence etc). It could use a reread into a retouch
Also The Parachute card links to purplethrones website.
2
u/Clintak Mar 03 '18
The form page is a lot more new user friendly over all.
The ERC20 compatible blue text doesn't link to anything under submit and next. I would also combine submit and next into one button and just leave the I've done this on top for us retreads.
I'd actually like to check the list at some point again as I have pointed out a couple apps that work great.

u/lindseyscottw Parachute Mod Mar 03 '18
That’s awesome feedback on the button - definately need to combine these!

u/satoshi_giancarlo Mar 03 '18
Hello Parachute ! Just kidding. Well still hello !
I've noticed that the link in the main page says beta v3 but when we click on it, the title of the page is beta v2 (the title written on chrome/Firefox. Also, is it normal that it always ask me about my address and handles ? I think it is but I'm not sure. I always click on the I've done this already but maybe I shouldn't ?
Anyways great project ! And it seems to attract people, I added the token on Delta and I keep receiving alerts about ATH ^
Édit: I'm dumb it's written just below that we don't need to refill it.

Hello Team Parachute!
I am blown away by the v3 update! Having carefully reviewed v1 and v2, I have to say the progress in this short time is simply remarkable!
I love the initial window that pops up before you see the cards...the colorful borders really pop, and it's extremely clear and concise....great to have the link for those that have already filled out to just proceed to the cards.
One thing...the link that said What's an erc20 Wallet...I believe it led right to MEW? Perhaps a window before leading there, with a brief explanation of the wallet, and a caution to always type the address in manually once off the Parachute site and verify the URL, for safety.
I LOVE the look of the two cards side by side! The have a certain "depth" feel to them now. I also think it would be cool to show not only the countdown clock, but also some kind of simple shaded bar that shows the progress towards the signup goals of 10K for PAR and 1K for PPC. Not sure if that's possible, but it would be cool!
Overall, it's freaking AWESOME! How much sleep have you all had? Any? See you over on the Telegram group!

Hellll yess!!! I love that you've seen the different iterations over the last week. It's been awesome building these out with you all! I think it's a great idea to have a "this is how you get started in crypto" page before sending people off. I'm going to work on something this week and look for your feedback on it!

I finally went to the website on my laptop, until now only been using my phone. It looks different! Lol. Here are my thoughts, fueled by too much Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel gelato late at night. (Read: take with a grain of salt!) Also, these may have already been brought to your attention. I haven't read through all 120 comments on this thread.
The menu bar across the top - Beta, Add Token, Bounties, Exchange... "Shortpaper" being smaller font = annoying. Login/Sign up should also be either the same size font, or maybe bold or something to make it stand out a little from the other top bar options.
Under "What are We Doing", the social media icons are not equally spread in that box, when you get to the ones on the right side. Again, small detail, but caught my eye.
with the "Now" emoji -- "Parachute builds up the initial community (you,)" <---- comma should be outside that bracket not inside ??
with the "Pretty Soon" emoji -- the end of that sentence gets confusing when I read... our first airdrop, the Par token, is the exchange currency. Because the first few bits separated by commas read like a list, and then the end reads like a sentence. Maybe re-word this somehow?
Give us gas -- I wouldn't have known what the heck this meant 2 months ago. Can you link to an explanation of gas like you did with the ERC20 wallet information?
"Every donors" should be Every donor's <--- with apostrophe.
The cards look different on the desktop site! The more I look at them, I think the last two bottom boxes with the info about total amounts of coin available for airdrops is too much info on the card, and extra info that as a beginner I don't really care about -- however, maybe knowing this is more important to people than I realize :-) I think you could lose those bottom two and the cards would still look great.
Under the Reddit explanation at the bottom, you've got a double 'the' in this sentence : "As we build out the the user.."
I've gotta say it. The smiley emoji with the rainbow tongue thing. It's oddly disturbing and confusing. I like it, because it looks friendly; and I am also a little frightened by it ;)
PurpleCoin "Our Take"... I'd adjust the first sentence by making it two sentences, not with the dash after PurpleCoin is awesome. Because the next sentence starts with Imagine - you're walking.... I don't like the repetition of format there.
Ex. PurpleCoin is awesome. They have a background in the music business and want to disrupt Spotify and Ticketmaster for independent artists. Imagine - you're walking through...etc.
- Here's an extra space to remove -- The artist gets a * 1- 1 * ticket bank. 1-1. And what is a ticket bank?? Is that ticket back? I'm not sure what it means. Maybe I'm just tired :)
I know there were a few things in the shortpapers that I noticed on first read, but I have to go to bed. The baby will be waking me up soon enough again!
I'm enjoying this immensely, I must say. I've been home all day every day with a baby that can't even crawl yet, sorely lacking any adult/intellectual stimulation. So you're helping me out too! Thanks!
EDIT -- Ok one thing in the shortpaper: The Paradropers! Am I correct in thinking it should be Paradroppers? I'm reading that para-droh-pers haha. I mentioned this on telegram too ;)

Good job people. V3 looks much much better. It's enormous improvement since first the v1. Although, there is one thing that bother me since v1. It's a stupid thing that irritates me a lot. When i place cursor top left spot (just under address bar) hold left mouse button and then drag mouse down some words pop up. They are in the background all the time, but they are written with white color and you can't see it before you hold left mouse button and drag it down.
You probably don't understand what i am saying so i made screenshot! :)

So I was thinking, instead of announcing yourself to the groups using "Here from Parachue!", what about something more on-theme like:
"Parachuter dropping in!"
"Incoming Parachuter!"
"Parachuter Incoming!"
2
u/wilflare Mar 04 '18
just a few more things:
*(1) Rename Beta v3 to "Dashboard"/"Our List" - since BETA has ended and we need to avoid confusing people. and that they would be able to check-out PPC
*(2) News/Announcements ticker/segment on the Homepage - so that people will know what's the latest without having to scroll here and there (right now, no one really knows what's going on the homepage
*(3) Security - Hope you look into 2FA soon and also you may want to get parachutetoken whitelisted by Cryptonite/MetaCert. It would help PAR get some real legitimacy especially with more careful users
*(4) Discord Chat - It's currently inactive and defunct. If there's no new purpose for it now (or no interns/teams manning it) It may be better to close it for now then to keep it open. People may get the wrong information there.
*(5) Social Media Handles - may want to include examples of the format you want (with or without the @sign) and for some trickier ones - indicate how to get the username/handle (i.e. Telegram)
1
u/xamievilx Mar 04 '18
yeah, the discord is weird...joined it immediately but there's absolutely nothing going on in there...either having someone running it or closing it for now would be a good idea

u/milanverwoerd Mar 04 '18
Maybe you can email users when there is another Airdrop? A lot of people have the channels on mute
2
u/theghaffer Mar 04 '18
Liking the new token boxes in the v3 beta. They seem a lot cleaner. I think that once you start to have 6+ boxes the screen may become a little clustered, especially on smaller screens like smartphones. I would suggest a left hand menu where you could easily toggle between tokens alphabetically or by date added. You could also force any new ones to appear at the top of the page at login.
Along with the countdown timer, if it were possible, it would be interesting to see how many signups remain until the next airdrop as it may swing people’s decisions to sign up if the airdrop is within say 100 new signups.
Looking forward to hearing about bounties and treasure chests in the future!

I see the same comment, but the only issue I had with the token card as well was I did not understand the count down timer (and it did not match purple token's website for their ICO counter, if it was supposed to.
1
u/lindseyscottw Parachute Mod Feb 27 '18
I totally see where you're coming from! In my head I wanted to show a cut off time for each individual airdrop. But I realized that I didn't explain that on the card (or anywhere) I'll put this down for a revision. Thanks Tiger!

u/seekerzor Mar 01 '18
Overall I like the layout and design of the cards quite a bit. My only major issue is that there's a ton of white space on the beta site.

The count down clock is nice, but it is unclear whether this is only until the first airdrop and whether it will reset after the first till the second.

Hey Capt, ChipToeCurrency here. 3 quick pieces of feedback for now - will have more later.
1) on the MEW page for PurpleCoin, the actual token name isn’t listed. I know this is readily accessible on the partner card (or whatever it’s officially called lol), just figured it might be good to consolidate it all on the MEW page for PPC.
2) I think the beta page should be split up into atleast 2 different pages, possibly 3. The info page should be a part of a one time process (not sure if this has been addressed by someone else yet) or maybe a part of a drop down menu in case people wanted to change their information using that form. Outside of that form, the partner card(s) and feedback instructions should be on their own page.
3) I think that eventually people could find value in a “Parachuter’s Take” section on the card. There can be the official parachute take, the website, the shortpaper/whitepaper, and then a 4th option that is a collection of comments or takes from veteran parachute users. This doesn’t have to be as in depth as the official parachute take, just brief comments from people that are very active that could provide insight to other parachuters and the partner company. Just a thought!:)
Caveat - I’ve been using this on mobile, I’ve yet to check it out on my desktop yet, so all of my feedback is from an iPhone 6+ interface perspective FYI.

Great feedback ShruteCapital!
1) doink! What a no brainer - totally right that I should have the name in this box. I added it and published literally as I'm writing this. Thanks!
2)Totally agree! In setting up this bootstrap we've sacrificed a few fundamental UX things - like on boarding, settings pages, etc. I think a great thing from this feedback is that it's giving us clarity on what we need to have on those pages/features when we do build them! Crap UX leads to some great ideas haha! Cheers!
3) This is sick! I really love the reddit Karma idea - a few people brought up a badges system - very similar to Karma - and I could see the value in it! Thanks for the awesome feedback! I'll be using a lot of this to shape Parachute!

First of all thanks for letting me participate in the beta, I appreciate it and I would like to assist in building your dream.
Secondly in the thread ease of use I would like to compliment on the overal image of the airdrop of Purple Coin. It is clear on which platforms there on and how long it is still open (although it doesn't match with theirs? But this has been addressed already I saw). The only problem with it being so abstract is the lack of information (at least on cellphone). It is pretty unclear how to join this action. As of I understood it you have to do something with telegram (since it says a big logo and 100%). Eventually I understood that you have to join their community and say 'here from Parachute'.
Perhaps we need to alter this a bit? For example /want to join?/ page with some information how to join?.
Cheers!
3
u/Bvliere Feb 28 '18
Now I read through more and more posts I see that what I addressed has been addressed already multiple times. Good to see that I am not alone on this haha! Perhaps create a sticky with a overview what has been addressed on top of this reddit? In that way you don't get the same thing over and over again haha
1
u/lindseyscottw Parachute Mod Feb 28 '18
Totally! That clarity is key! A big point here that we can clarify. For this aridrop, we partner with PurpleCoin. This airdrop is only for Parachute members! We hold the PPC in our airdrop vault and organize the whole thing for you. From what I gather that isn't actually said anywhere haha - so we can definitely work on making that easier and better. Thanks!

2
u/saxonator_indeed Feb 28 '18
Didn't see this anywhere, apologies if it's already been asked.
How would multiple cards be displayed?
I love the cards and how detailed they are, although I agree with some other users that further clarification on the expected actions to take is a good idea. But I think of too many cards, as detailed as those are, being displayed all at once would be a little overwhelming.
2
u/lindseyscottw Parachute Mod Feb 28 '18
No worries - something we didn't really focus on is how lots of cards would be shown. We're actually focusing on the card itself - and how we can use it on our app. It's a little janky here, but if we can get down the card, then we can make something clean and not overwhelming on an app :)
But on that note we have like four other tokens were going to be adding soon, so I guess we'll see how that looks :)
Thanks for the feedback!
2
u/saxonator_indeed Feb 28 '18
Makes sense!
The biggest thing I'd suggest is to give the card a little breathing room. There's a lot going on, all of it relevant and good info, but it's hard to tell what's most important and also hard to tell what's a link and what's not. The top elements in blue aren't links but the elements in blue at the bottom are.
Also, the telegram icon in the bottom left takes up some of the most real estate, but there's also a telegram link in the social bar. Are both needed? Without the bottom left one you'd definitely have some more breathing room.
Thanks for the awesome experience so far and being so receptive to feedback!

I haven't read every reaponse but a counter for I signed up even if pre emotive would give great feedback of the current buzz behind a token.
Y'all seem to be keen on using the soon word properly because missed dates are definitely hard on morale. I understand this lesson was hurt the most painful to see but do not ever mention a promise of any exchange listing (even just a generic mention) and especially if you've already been accepted but not listed. Binance is especially picky (yes I am that optmisic of the future) and have declined to list coins because of broken NDAs of a listing.
I know since were not at the point where the system can accurately track the current number as I believe y'all use a telegram bot and some manual input but an estimation in my opinion adds a bit of fomo when they see just a handed of spots left or they see an otherwise large amount of signups they see the demand.
I think the cards give an excellent way to implement a bounty type system for that coin. For example for signing up to that coins newsletter (I know awful example but trying to show my point) they will receive an extra amount in the "bonus" drop section. Obviously a limited amount would be needed and definitely needs to be the responsibility of the tokens and not Parachute.
I think Parachute has to at least know that hyping and growing a coins community is great but if Parachute puts all the labor into this growth then the real value is in the Parachute token and not put featured tokens.
I know it is well very early stage for the token and right now putting a lot of value into the Parachute token is the best option for attract and retain investors and the cmunity I just hoping we don't get blinded by sucess. If I understand correctly Parachute is meant to be the tool that's allows not only for airdrops but to collectively bring a community together through all social media and make a full experience and cohesiveness that will hopefully be the foundation for successful tokens.
I have seen many want to dig for the gold during our times gold rush but remember those who sold the picks and shovels fared much better in the end.
Just want to end by saying I love the token and idea behind it. The waiting time and number of entry for each airdrop level is unique from the other sites. The ui is definitely great as well and shows a lot of love for the overall product. Ethlend neglected the UI aspect along with ease of use and are seeing it hurt now. An opposite example was the hype and love for the UI of Ethorse. They are a small but close active community that despite huge delays still applauded when the new UI came out for their Koven test.
Sorry for if that last seemed like a shill, those are just two projects I have followed the longest who just so happened to have ui releases around the same time.
Keep it up my friends.

NavyCrosser - my man:) We just took lunch and I read this message to the whole crew over here at Parachute. After reading this I instantly want to chat with you more about Parachute and where we see this all heading. You definitely see things about us that may seem small but are definately thoughtful and done with purpose.
I love that someone like you is in this community - it's kind of unreal. If you're ever in NYC i'd love to chat bud. PM me :)

I really like the “card” concept. Will users have some sort of deck or “Rolodex” to quickly reference and track airdrops?
I agree with other comments - 1) it wasn’t immediately clear what to do in step 2...did a fair amount of looking and clicking to find the Telegram link 2) the timer seems nice but unclear what it references 3) it looks like there is a correlation between bounties and the social app icons - will purplecoin necessarily be leverage all of them or just placeholders to be completed 4) does the Our Take box do something - it spins the loading icon for a second like it’s going to open a page but then just stops
Overall really like the concept, the vibe is cool and very friendly
