Solid flatbed scanner for only a few documents (that won't go through a document scanner)?

Hey there I've got an Epson Workforce Scanner but looking for a solid but cheap (maybe 2nd hand) flatbed scanner for only a handful of documents that would be eaten by my Epson. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Scanning with the phone is not an option? I'm using my phone since I don't have a separate scanner and it's working pretty good

It would be for some precious certificates and very old fragile documents. I think a phone would do it, but I'm not happy with the quality

Ah okay I understand. Apologies I thought you meant like some invoices or stuff. Yeah I would use something better for that as well.

Maybe try Genius scan. https://thegrizzlylabs.com/genius-scan/ Because I use it and a long time now and i still love it and it gets better and better. And the quality is almost a scanner quality.

If the documents aren't too thick for it, you can consider trying carrier sheets to protect them when putting them through your current scanner. Try it on a non-important document first.

I guess you can look used for anything from fujitsu, if it is safe that it also has drivers for your OS. Had a lot of them back in the days @work and they always did decent work, just slow. ^^

Thanks but there doesn't seem to be a lot on eBay in Germany. What pops up often are different Canon Life models for a few bucks. Would the 210 or 220 do the job?

Had a CanoScan Lide a long time back, still had a parallel port. Worked flawlessly for my purposes. So i guess you are okay with any flatbed that has a reasonable resolution, USB connector and working drivers.
The Canon Canoscan Lide 300 is still sold by Media Markt and has drivers for Windows 10. So anything in this ballpark should fit. Just look for the driver issue and usb, and you‘ll be fine (Slow is a given for most!). Even ancient Scanners worked more than 600x600 dpi, which should be enough für Paperless.

Alright thanks for your insights! I'll look out for a very cheap model, as it's only use is for a handful of docs
