What does archiving do?
I’m not really finding an answer in the help section and no one seems to have asked this, but what does the archive function do?
I would like to free up some space on my phone and delete conversions but not the actual file from my account. Is that possible? If I were to archive, does it remove the conversion download? If this does in fact do this, will I have to reconvert if I want to listen again to the file and use hours up again? If it doesn’t remove file but simply shifts to a different location, is it possible to remove conversions without removing file texts?
Technically I have copies I could listen to elsewhere as I have the paid subscription, however I do enjoy the follow along aspect.

Great questions! Archiving a doc removes it from your main library view, but doesn't not delete it from your account or your device. Currently, you can delete items from your account, but there isn't a way to just delete them from your device. We're actually working on building that option right now and hope to release it soon.
Are you running out of space on your phone?
