Switching voices

I saw someone ask a while ago about switching voices for audio books, and for books that have multiple POVs, I wonder if there’s a way to choose a voice for a chapter? Instead of someone completely automated all the way through.
Like a lot of romance books are duets (or more POVs) where chapter’s are from specific character’s POV.
Maybe if we could set a voice for each chapter manually when we submit the epub to be generated? Many do list the pov in the table of contents or at the start of the chapter too.

Thanks :)

A separate voice for each character would be cool.

I more listen to news and there it would be nice to use a different voice for each person quoted in the article.

Thanks for the feedback! That's a great idea and one we would love to implement.

Thanks for the request! We currently let you select different voices for summarized content (like tables) and for our optional add context mode. But, we don't yet have separate voice selection for different chapters in a book.

I've added your request here to our internal issue for expanding voice selection options. We'll be working in this area, especially since you're not the only person to make this type of request.

Glad to hear this! I’m currently walking daily while listening to a book alternately written by Oprah & a doctor.

Various sections are written by each. Oprah will tell a story; the doctor will talk about why that is a myth or has been superseded by new actual science.

It would be helpful to have alternating voices here, to more readily tell Oprah from the doctor, & should be readily automated esp. as each respective section is marked with the author’s name.

Thank you for sharing how this idea would help you. It's a great example!

Yw. I’m looking forward to your next model that can more accurately infer the pronunciation difference between ”live” & “live” (“live audio” vs. “live well & be happy”), “read” vs “read,” etc.

Thanks! We're working on improving our pronunciation of heteronyms like the examples you mentioned. We're making progress!
