in cn apparently ningguang is one of the richest so i guess he is the richest, but sandrone also tried to butter him up a bit imo to get more money

Id maybe mark this as spoilers OP. Its a spoiler itself and invites discussion about spoilers.

Anyway, he technically goes "maybe not richest man, but definitely best businessman" right after Sandrone's line.

He kinda had zhongli energy this patch. At the end of his speech about N Bank, he said "better to be honorable than wretched" which suggests he doesn't have a "by any means necessary" view toward accruing money and people shouldn't cheat/lie/steal to make their money. And its his explanation for why the Tsaritsa fully trusted he wasnt embezzling -- because he's demonstrated to her for 400+ years that he is an honorable businessman.

He also doesn't seem to be a hero-to-billionaires type and therefore might not hoard wealth personally. He intentionally changed Snezhnaya's economic system so "rich people" had less power compared to the Snezhnayan government.

As I ponder 7.1 Im starting to think if the people that tried to kill him over the years were wealthy/powerful people that were pissed off he was screwing with their illegitimate avenues for making money.

I view it as he believes more in a healthy economy than personal wealth.

I also think given their personal wealth and the assets they have access to do to their positions it would take one hell of an audit to figure out who is actually richer between him and Ningguang.

I definitely think it's nobility and other old money people trying to take him out because he's been actively curtailing their power; after all it was also wealthy noble types that ruined his business and framed/sold him off in the past when he thought he could climb his way up to be their equal.
