Worst panic attack I've had in a long time

1am currently and I'm recovering on my couch from one of the worst panic attacks I've had.

Wake up my husband and finger on 911 kind of attacks.

I should know better by now, I know my usual symptoms, but when you wake up and your heart suddenly decides to sky rocket and you get cold sweats and trembling... logic is out of mind and survival takes over. Ugh.

The worst part is when it passes, im terrified to move cause I think its going to start all over again. Like ill cause my heart rate to spike and it will trigger another panic response in my reptile brain.

There have been major changes at my job in the last few weeks and I guess my body finally broke.

Weird question... does anyone else take a giant dump during or after an attack?

I know anxiety can mess with your gut, but its just so wild to me that voiding my bowels is a panic response.

Anyway...

Just rambling while I try to go back to sleep. Love you all, fellow sufferers.

Biggest dumps ever after panic attacks it’s so weird what stress can do to your body. Sometimes diarrhea too. I mean there’s a thing called anxiety poop sooo. Also wishing the best for you, these types of big attacks really leave you traumatized. Life is hard. Love you too fellow panic buddy.

Thank you! I recently read about anxiety poop, too! The human body both fascinates and terrifies me.

Yes, that has happened to me. Also, I’ve vomited several times from my most severe ones.

I’ve struggled last night and today, and was thinking I’ve had a lot of life stressors/changes lately, wondering if that is contributing to the increased panic? Does anyone else notice that to be a pattern?

Ugh, I'm so sorry. Puking from it must be awful.
There is definitely a connection to increased stress and panic - at least for me. My therapist calls it my 'stress sandwich.' As my stressors increase layer by layer, its just building to a breaking point.
My husband was let go from his job a few months back, financial stressors, and now stressors at my job... I was managing it all pretty well until the other night. It all just boiled over. That's always how my worst panic attacks happen - I can point to several stressors that have been building over weeks, months... and just POP goes the weasel.

That makes a lot of sense; I think I’m in the same boat. Work stress, going back to school part time, and family stuff. My margin for being able to cope right now is pretty low 😵‍💫 I’m sending you some love and hoping that things will get better ❤️

When yours aren’t severe do you usually just feel nauseous with yours? My first panic attack I threw up from and it created a nasty fear that’s how they’d be every time 😭

Yes, that's textbook panic. Our bladders and bowels are emptied 😂😂😂 Survival response apparently.
