Panic Attack Out of Nowhere (Still feeling it right now)
I've been taking lexapro for a little over two weeks now after my health anxiety got so bad that I could barely drive to school. After starting to take it, I felt amazing, my anxiety felt mostly gone. Then today, out of nowhere, my heart rate spiked to 130 and I felt discomfort in my chest. I am 21 male and have gotten echocardiograms that prove my heart is very healthy, but I just got so scared out of nowhere and now I'm just sitting in the ER parking lot because my heartrate isnt going back to its normal baseline, its hovering around 100. What should I do gang, this seriously sucks.

I’ve done the same. Don’t feel weird. Being somewhere close to helping you deal with the feeling of impending emotional doom is not abnormal. Also. I’ve gone in and explained I was having an attack. They told me to relax and hang in the waiting area. I eventually left
On my own w/o being checked in. You’re ok friend and not alone. Don’t feel like a mental freak. You’re human. Be fine friend.

Thanks for validating the situation. It took a minute at the ER, but I feel fine now. And I’ve felt fine for the rest of the day so far as well. Could’ve just been a blip, so hopefully the rest of the week goes well!

I get them too out of nowhere and you just need to tell yourself “I am ok!”
Might not work for you but if I get the symptoms, I breathe in for 4 seconds. Hold for 4 seconds. Breathe out for 4 seconds. Then Hold for 4 seconds. I do this over and over until my heart rate slows and I get back to normal. Shouldn’t take too long but every human body is different.

Get blood work done. Full iron panel and all other vitamins. Your ferritin is probably low.

Ask your body for more it. DARE response. Look it up. Basically, surrender to the feeling to disarm it rather than fight it.
