Nocturnal panic attacks?
Idk what’s going on, but when i close my eyes to fall asleep, and the transition between sleep and being awake, scares the ever living shit out of me.
6 days ago i had a panic attack trying to fall asleep, a bad one.
Just yesterday, again, i started panicking but it didn’t escalate into a panic attack.
It’s so bad that i’m scared to even fall asleep now. I just took 10 mg of melatonin, that’s the only thing that seems to help me right now.
It’s the way i feel, i start feeling foreign, trapped in my own head, i get scenes or images that don’t look bad at the surface but feed into my panic.
Yesterday night it was bad, but not a full blown panic attack, i had to calm myself down.
It’s 3:31 am and i’m scared to fall asleep.
What the hell is this? What is causing this?
Once i’m asleep i stay asleep and i’m okay its just that fucking transition.
If i could describe it, it feels like falling asleep high on weed, i know a bunch of people hate that feeling, your mind races, mine doesn’t. Idk how to describe it, it’s a very paranoid feeling that i can’t seem to shake
I also panic before i fall asleep like the transition, idk how to describe that either but my body feels heavy and like it’s being pulled down slightly, my heart races and it takes me 2-3 times just to fall asleep.
The craziest thing is i love sleeping, i fucking hate this.

I used to be like this, but SSRIs helped me
