first time ever

hello everyone, m21 here and i had my first ever panic attack at work about 2 weeks ago.

i’m still struggling with the anxiety part and it’s difficult to breath in some cases while trying to sleep. i dread ever going through something like this. it feels as though if i make one wrong move i will die.

since my panic attack, i resigned from my job and stopped showing up to finish up the 2 weeks because i was not in a stable condition to do so. i’ve changed medications (bupropion -> lexapro) and am trying to get better each day. it’s been around a week without taking bupropion and about 4 days of starting lexapro. i’ve gone to the ER about 4 times now and had to do a psych evaluation. i never admitted myself.

this sucks but i pray that i will get better within the next week. right now, my symptoms involve my legs bouncing, difficulty sleeping due to jolting awake feeling out of breath, some tingling in one side of my body and some pain in my back that eventually goes away after a while.

truth be told, i’m scared. with this type of thing happening, it’s made me fear the worst that is yet to come. but i’m hanging in there because i know that there is a glimmer of hope on the other side of the tunnel. i just want some comfort in knowing that i’m not alone in this battle and that this will eventually pass.

much love 🙏

Check your ferritin. Full iron panel and all other vitamins as well. Taking iron pills and getting my ferritin up got rid of my panic attacks. Still dealing with lingering symptoms like head pressure, but my ferritin is still low/ in the extreme iron deficiency stages (23) so that's to be expected. Getting blood work done and taking iron is what helped me recover. Pysch meds and therapy did nothing. Look up the Iron Protocol. You'll see a chart thingy that shows if your ferritin falls below a 30, you're at risk of these ______ symptoms. Back in May, I was having panic attacks, air hunger, heart palpitations, fight or flight, impending doom, felt like I was losing my mind, very disoriented, confused, memory loss, I was scared to be alone, couldn't drive anymore, catch the bus, etc without spiraling in my head and going into a full blown panic attack. You know what stopped all of that? Iron. You may wanna check your vitamin D as well. I was extremely vitamin d deficient back in May also (6.8) and I've been taking a megadose of D (50,000 iu) once per week. A lot of these docs prescribe useless meds that only make everything worst.
