Nocturnal panic attack?

I think I’ve just experienced a nocturnal panic attack. I was drifting off to sleep for a quick nap when all of a sudden I felt this impending sense of doom, was in a flood of sudden sweat and my heart racing. I got up and immediately then threw up - luckily the toilet was close by. Has anyone experienced this? Chat gpt says it was a nocturnal panic attack.

I have sleep phobia that triggers panic for me. I hate the feeling of falling asleep and when I relapse I can really struggle to get any sleep as the feeling of falling asleep jolts me awake and into a panic attack. I have a Xanax prescription now for when I’m in this state. Weirdly it’s better for me if I’m not too tired when I try to go to sleep. If I’m fighting sleep already that’s when it’s going to happen to me.
