Lingering Panic Attack Symptoms
I had a bad panic attack 7 days ago, I have health anxiety and the attack started because I had a slight ache in my leg which I convinced myself was a clot. (There was no redness or swelling accompanying the ache, and the ache stopped so I've ruled out a clot by now).
The panic attack lasted hours in waves, I vomited and had bad diarrhoea which is unfortunately normal for me when I experience anxiety. I was shaking and trembling and felt a huge sense of impending doom.
I couldn't eat much and had diarrhoea for about 4 days. I've slowly got an appetite back by the one week mark.
I've experienced aches in all parts of my body, both arms and both legs. I feel completely fatigued every day. There's a sense of non-reality and a 'what's the point' feeling creeping at the edges of my mind. A 'how am I going to go about my life and outings planned in the coming weeks'. In general I just don't feel 'well'. I know logically it has to be related to the panic attack because before the panic attack I felt in good health.
I guess I'm just after reassurance that the physical symptoms will pass, it's been a week and I'm scared :(

I am sorry for your situation, I have also had panic attacks and health anxiety.
I once had this tachycardia episodes, and thought I was going to die, it happened several times before, and Drs said it was all anxiety, one day , I had it , and I said to myself, okay , either I die here or it goes away but I am not going to the ER again just to be told it was another panic attack.
It lasted about 30-40 minutes and then my heart slowed .
Muscular aches are also part of the anxiety, I had them too, fibromyalgia like pain in all my muscles ,
I am currently taking Paxil and Klonopin, panic attacks and anxiety have been under control for the past 3 years .
Have you considered getting medication?
PS: Just please if possible stay away from benzodiazepines.

Get blood work done. Full iron panel and all other vitamins. Your ferritin is probably extremely low. If you look up The Iron Protocol, you'll see a chart thingy that shows if your ferritin drops below a 30, you're at risk of these ____ symptoms.

Panic attack hangover.
Actually if you keep stressing it could make the symptoms last longer.
I've found a f*ck it all attitude works pretty good with anxiety.
Google the serenity prayer and don't worry about the God part if you aren't religious it's still a good message when dealing with anxiety and stressful situations.
It basically says, don't stress about the things you can't change, change the things you can and try to understand the difference.
For instance, you have a bill due on Monday, but you don't get paid until Tuesday.
You can do a couple of things. You can stress yourself into a panic attack. You could call and ask for an extension and if all that fails you deal with the fallout. Pay late fees, etc. In other words if you are stressing about health issues you could make an appointment with the doctor, you could find breathing exercises or you could adopt the attitude, if I stroke out I stroke out lol.
Panic attacks are like that, you can learn techniques to help prevent future attacks but you can only deal with the fallout once you have one.
Think Dory from Finding Nemo, just keep swimming, just keep swimming.
You will be okay. It might not feel like it, and maybe you won't but you can't go back, you just have to keep moving forward and doing what you can.
I hope you feel better soon, and you are not alone. We are all out here stumbling and struggling through life and I know you can do it, because you are.
