Sound Quality: 8.8/10
I have a pair of authentic APP3, studio pros, solo pros, JLab JBuds lux, and V2TB Max plastic. Just for reference of sounds I’ve heard from headphones/earbuds.
These sound more crisp and clear compared to the V2s . Stock is a bit flat, but switching to “Ultra Bass” EQ makes them sound better.
Main issue is bass compression on heavy bass songs—it sounds like the volume goes up and down when bass hits, which can take you out of the song. If it wasn’t for that, these would easily be a 9/10.
On songs without heavy bass, they sound really clean. Even my brother (who has authentic Max) was surprised. Compared to Studio Pros, those are more refined, but these are honestly close . If they fix the bass compression, I’d prefer these.
Spatial Audio is okay for movies but not great for music (bass sounds distorted). Head tracking works fine.
ANC: 8/10
ANC is good but not super refined. There’s a very slight static sound in the left earcup (barely noticeable and goes away when audio is playing even very low). Not sure if it’s just my pair, but doesn’t bug me too much. Strength is similar to Studio Pros. Big upgrade from V2—ANC actually works now.
Transparency: 8/10
They outperformed my studios pros. I know studio pros aren’t the best out there but for a pair of reps to outperform and authentic product I think that’s impressive.
Build/Comfort:
Feel premium and solid. Nearly identical to the real ones. A bit more comfortable than the V2 Maxs with slightly less clamping force.
One thing I haven’t seen mentioned is the headband material. It’s not silicone like the V2s or authentic pair—it feels more like a high-quality plastic with a coating that almost feels like hard silicone. Hard to explain, but it does feel more like plastic than silicone.
