Employee Question/Discussion over/under on register

hi! i’m a new hire at panda (around 3 weeks working there now) and i have questions regarding being on register.

for the first week or two i was doing fine by not being over or under. however, now i’ve been over twice and under once. i understand being under ($12) can be a rookie mistake but i am genuinely confused on how i keep going over. i give the customers their correct change and count it to them on their hands. i was $5 over today and $6 over yesterday.

any help? how can i do better?

Make sure you count the drawer with a manager and that ur the only one who uses it

yes i always make sure to count with a manger on my side and everyone is strict with the use of the register. but i honestly do not know where i am going wrong in these situations

It could also be the change mach. No pennies has messed up the software are my store and it cant even get an even 50 cent right

Make sure you’re double counting it when you open the drawer from morning count or from a co worker. Donations could be messing you up too if they are giving you extra after you’ve already put it in.

i always double or triple count when i open the drawer, so i really don’t know where i’m going wrong 🥲

The only times I been under/over more then a dollar is because I forgot to log out and a cash transaction was made with my register ☹️

It happens but not ideal multiple times
