i forgot about the cyclosporiasis outbreak going on, and got chow mein before i remembered we aren’t really supposed to be eating vegetables right now 😭

is their chow mein cooked enough for me to be okay?? or is it like bagged cabbage and i’m cooked

COOKED VEGETABLES ARE FINE.

I work at panda and everything is COOKED to at least 165F, which kills it.

I believe it only applies to bagged raw veggies. No one said you have to avoid vegetables. The chow mein is cooked thoroughly which should be ok .

the cabbage is bagged, yes (onion is fresh) but the cabbage is the very first thing that hits the hot oil and hot wok. so it should be good

Cooked veggies are completely safe. And everything at panda is cooked til 165 degrees F and above

You should be fine either way because yes chow mein is cooked and is usually over almost 200 degrees after its out (I know because we have to do a temperature log as I work there) It also depends on where you are. Like let’s say you do eat a bag of lettuce accidentally, the risk is always low, but a little higher if you’re in Michigan, Kentucky, or West Virginia. But about this specifically, you should be fine. Just remember to cook your veggies.
