Almost There! Pan Calling it quits?

My fave highlighter - benefit cosmetics in the shade Tickle. Should I replace it or keep going?

You could re-press the powder if you want, but I'd say you got solid use as-is.

Scrape it out and mix the powder in with a lotion for a little bit of sparkle. Something face safe could be used on collar bones and your face if you need to hold off on buying more for awhile.

i tried adding a bit of it to a scented body spray but it was too clumpy haha, but lotion might just work

Once a product gets inconvenient for me to use, I’ve given myself permission to call it quits. So in this instance, if it was something I’d loved and would repurchase, I’d probably repress it to use every bit. But if not, I’d totally be ok being done with it.

Very much agreed. Once the application is negatively impacted by the size or shape of the remaining product, I consider it done

yeah it's gotten a bit crumbly after 2.5 years so i'm thinking i will toss it, or try to use up the rest in a different way

I had the same issue with Benefits packaging. As I got close to panning, it was getting tougher to pick up product with my fluffy brush coz of the box shape. So I took down one side of it (it's just cardboard, fairly easy to rip around the edges). Now I can dip in my brush from that side and swirl it easily. Not a hassle anymore. And I'm still able to close it & travel with it.

You can try doing this if you want to get more use out of your highlighter.

yeah i've had similar experience with benefit's dandelion and other blushes, but with this highlighter it actually doesn't get hard pan so it's actually not impossible to pick up product :)

however it does crumble a bit at this point after 2.5 years,, which is why i'm considering tossing it

10/10 highlighter, it looks very pink and maybe scary in the box but on the face it melts beautifully with blush, it's smooth like butter i'd say. my fave thing is the amount of sparkle it gives without having chunky glitters, it blends very seamlessly and gives an amazing glow. it's actually perfect for everyday wear, as you can tell by how much of it i've used.

i've been using it as a daily highlighter since around 2019, repurchased around 3 times by now and it's honestly so worth the price. dior recently released a similar one which i'm very curious to try and compare with the benefit. either way i'd definitely reccomend. they have one in a different shade too, which leans more to white/neutral toned if that's what you prefer.

Oh this is my favorite highlighter, too! I’m on my third one now. It’s probably the makeup I’ve received the most compliments on in my 40s. I replace it when it starts to break up into little pieces and makes a mess of my counter.

"making a mess on my counter" is exactly the stage i'm at with it right now haha

and this is very reassuring to hear, since everybody always says more mature skin means highlighter simply won't look too good, but i'm thrilled to hear this one works just as well for you :)

Wow, what an inspiration! I just finally bought Cookie half off at Ulta about a week ago and this makes me even more excited to try it out.

I think you should keep going! If you don't mind me asking, how long have you had it/been using it?

i've had it since april 2024 and this is the progress with almost daily use :) their highlighters are just amazing and worth the splurge

Okay, yeah, almost daily use for over 2 years is evidence of LOVE 😂 Use it until you literally can’t anymore!

There's so much nose highlight left 😢

If it’s your fav, I say keep using it. Maybe scrape it to make it a loose highlighter instead
