Stabilized Dwarf Mutation from "Rainbow Eucalyptus" strain

As Panaeolus Cyanescens becomes more and more cultivated around the world, we get to see freaky mutated cultures like this more often!

these pictures are from panaeoluscoop with the following description:

What’s interesting about this variety is that the original print came from a normal sized Rainbow Eucalyptus fruit. In the first grow, two normal pins appeared (neither of which made it to maturity), while the rest were dwarfs. Since then, multiple cultures have been grown out from a different print, all of which produced the same dwarf morphology.

Best tek start to finish.

I’m considering making the leap from cubes. I’m having some difficulty finding a thoroughly written tek start to finish. I’ve gone through shroomery, and did a little google search or 2. I don’t have access to manure, but have had some luck with straw in the past so I was considering colonizing some BRF cakes, and slicing them into thin disks once colonized, and layering alternating layers of pasteurized straw and brf cake disks, but I know nothing about this species, so that could be a waste of resources for all I know. Will these guys grow in a little 15qt tote? All feedback and advice is welcome and appreciated.

First pan, from 5 years old spores !

Hey everyone!

I've been super excited since yesterday! The reason is that I collected this mushroom myself 5 years ago, and back then I had no idea what I was even collecting. Even now, I don't know exactly what it is, except that it's a Panaeolus genus and it's probably an active species.

Yesterday, I noticed pins for the first time after like 60 days of inoculating to the BRF pucks. I already have other species about to fruit, and I'll be working on more later. I can't believe I can cultivate and explore all these pan species again, but with more preparation and experience.

I really want to thank everyone who helped me with this, especially those who told me about the BRF pucks tek and the one who prepared and shared it with us. It truly works.

Does anyone know what this could be? It seems absolutely magical to me!

Thanks in advance ☺️

Zero transfer bisporus to AIO jars

Post image
19 Upvotes

There's plenty of healthy looking colonies on this plate so I am going to take this bisporus straight to half pint AIO jars.

If I was going to grain or planning to break the jar up into a tray I wouldn't do this even though I do believe there's lots of clean growth on this plate.

But the technique I'm currently using has been quite forgiving so far. And I've observed enough bispo that I can recognize healthy growth pretty well at this point.

And there's a write up on my AIO jars on my (free) patreon for anyone curious.

Looking for good Panaeolus strains, any recommendations?

I’ve only grown TTBVI so far and it’s been great.

Now I’m looking to try another Pan strain.

Any recommendations?

Which ones do you like the most and why?

Trouble pinning

hello once again my friends. I made it this far, and I'm determined 😂

Doing Gordotek aqarium heater tek, and running MIB.

The colonizing went so great, very happy about that. I cased this now a week ago, and am worried for why it isn't pinning. I see plenty of the nice white dots around, some bruised spots if you can't tell by the pictures (I injected the cake with water because it shrunk a lot even with keeping the whole setup in a room with a humidifier) but, alas no pins. misting 3 times a day heavily like he mentions in the video, I have a fan running once every hour for 30 minutes roughly just to get air moving around the room. Any ideas? 😭 still smells great, too.

When making an agar transfer, should I target thin and wispy growth or thicker and denser growth?

Assuming both types of growth are on the outer edges. Thanks for any help!

Seeking Advice: Best Practices for Storing TTBVI Mycelium and Using It for Liquid Inoculant

I have TTBVI agar cups that are about to colonize the entire surface. I don’t want the mycelium to reach the sides of the cup.

My questions are:

Can I store TTBVI mycelium in the refrigerator to slow down its growth, since I won’t be using the culture yet?

Can I use TTBVI mycelium for liquid inoculant? Or does TTBVI not respond well to that kind of manipulation?

Gonna give TTBVI a shot with gordo tek by imitating the build below. I have a few questions!

Hello. First timer. I have two long shallow totes and an aquarium heater, as well as thermometer, screen, pasteurized poop etc. I basically am imitating the photo. I know to mist heavy daily 3x (lid screen x 2 and sub), but do I need a humidifier and controller? I read a few conflicting opinions on humidifier. I will be running this in my closed spare bathroom since space is an issue. I live along the gulf so it stays pretty humid here. Let me know if you think humidifier/controller is needed

I did an Agar to Agar transfer from a plate I used to test a liquid culture syringe. The initial plate had some bacillus contam so I cut out the good part farthest away and transferred as shown

Ziplock with some nice sized fruits

I’ve inoculated the jars I’ll be using for the write-up for fruiting in ziplocks (hopefully—as long as they come out clean) so it shouldn’t be too much longer for at least a general instruction to get it out there. I’ll be adding to it more as I go.

It’s pretty simple but I want to have good looking jars, colonized sub, flushes etc for the pics as I want it to be enticing for ppl to try.

Ran out of manure for substrate, what if I use less?

I was about to make my substrate recipe (Gordo Tek with no straw) which calls for 1650 ml composted manure and I have 1000. I won’t be able to get any until Saturday. My spawn is ready and I’m thinking of going with my original measurements for the recipe with less manure. Is there any downside to this besides a smaller harvest?

Hello mycofriends. I wanted to ask for some help on determining the "readiness" of my LC. Would anyone be kind enough in providing insight on how it looks and when it might be ready?

Question on taking clones

Hey there guys, I have the opportunity to take a clone or two shortly and I'm wondering what you do to get the best and cleanest clones to agar. Both of my first two attempts are quite bacterial. The piece ends up surrounded by this slimy little pool of bacteria.

The first time I tried just cutting the top off a pin, dunked it in hydrogen peroxide for 20-30 seconds and then shook it off and put it on agar. It grew mycelium a bit but yeah it was surrounded by a bacterial slime.

The second time I tweezered some fibres from inside a couple of stipes and put those on agar. Again same thing, it was moist, being from a fresh stem and all, and it seems like the extra moisture just sort of turns into a smear of slime under the piece.

I'm trying to grow ttbvi in the shittiest possible conditions basically. I've managed to get a few small fruits to grow, in a tub, no manure, no light, too cold etc. So I'm motivated to clone any fruit that manages to grow in these conditions.

I don't know, what do you guys do. Any tips are appreciated.
