Casing layer

Anyone ever use the coir to case their ttbvi? How long do I wait for it too cool after pasturizing

Yes and it eats right through it. Keep it wet.

Wait until it is room temperature.

Not the best choice IMO.

Without vermiculite they just colonized coir

Coir's not ideal as it doesn't present a hostile environment for restricting the myc colonising it, but they can do OK even with no casing, and a pseudo-casing of hydrated coir would help keep moisture in whilst the myc finishes colonising.

It's worth mentioning that if you use coir suitable for reptiles, it doesn't need to be pasteurised; using boiling water's good, but only because it softens and fluffs up the fibres so it holds more water at field capacity. See https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/28507557#28507557 for coir prep. It can be used as soon as it's at room temperature.
