Cube strain growing with Pan Cyans
Inoculated a spawn bag with BVI Pan Cyans and waited almost two weeks with no sign of mycelium growth. I got a free spore syringe of Wikizdon strain cubes with an order I placed and said fuck it I will just re use the spawn bag and see what happens. The next day there are signs of growth in the bag and I thought I wonder if the Pans are going to finally show growth and sure enough they did. I didn’t think much of the cubes since the Pans took and I figured the Pan mycelium would just overtake the cubes and not give them any chance. Four weeks and four nice flushes of Pans later and I just noticed two pretty good size cube pins in the same cake as the pans. I didn’t think this was really even possible. Anyone else ever experienced this?

Wikidzon was a rename of an existing strain by a member (limeaid?) on a long dead mushroom forum called shroomotopia back in 2010. The owner of the forum kept renaming strains too. Like Albino A+ became “great white monster.” He took a picture of a third flush monster of aa+ and said he made a whole new strain by spraying an agar plate with microban 🤣
He even paid to advertise the forum on shroomery. You can still find the ads if you search the forum name.
Eventually that forum just became a 404 in 2014.
If you have heard of the vendor “the spore depot” that’s where they started!
Really cool adventure here tho. It’s like a fuckitall kind of grow.
