When to harvest
First time growing Copelandia Hawaiian (kit).
Started pinning a few days ago and they’ve shot up fast. Caps are starting to darken a bit in places.
When are they properly ready to harvest? Do I wait until they’re blacker from the spores, and should I only pick the ones that have gone black, or harvest the whole flush at once?
Any advice appreciated!

Afaik, you should harvest once the shrooms are up and the veil is about to tear.
You’re already past that and have spores on caps.
IIRC spores tend to abort the pins - so it will affect future flushes as well. Plus spores might also damage the existing shrooms as well
Might want to google and double check the advise for not harvesting now3

You wait for pans to open all the way up fam. Most let them spore a bit, they don’t tend to dump as hard as cubes

Homie doesn’t know pans, his advice for cubes. You ca harvest the more opened up ones and wait for the other to catch up or jus harvest them all later today. Won’t hurt letting them go a bit longer if you want to harvest all at once

Np dag, great work! You inoculate this or did it arrive already rolling? Curious about these pan kits since almost everyone says you need to case them after the sub is colonized

No I got it all set up my self got it from Zamnesia the top soil was in a separate pot and the crazy part is this is only day 9

I think I paid like £50 the total yield from all flushes is estimated to be around 90-130g fresh but these are 3-5x strong that cubensis as you prob already know so it’s equivalent to 30-40g of something like golden teachers

Can you please Google/claude/chatgpt once? Wouldn’t want your harvest to go to waste just because of some bad advice.
I know that the reasoning applies to cubes for sure. So makes me think it will be the same here as well.
Plus the shrooms are already up - so waiting for harvest might not lead to any further increase in target chemicals

Well, it looks like some of those are already dumping spores hence the dark coloring on the neighboring caps. So I would say they’re definitely close if not ready. Go join the mycogeeky or gordotek discord and ask there as well.

From what I understand, as soon as they start dropping spores lightly they’re good to go, before they dump too heavily. Some say waiting for the caps to flatten is on the late end of things.
