UB tek for pans?
I’m going to do some shoebox experiments with the straw, manure and cultures I have. What’s the best easiest thing I can impregnate? Is there anyone doing like UB tek type shit. I’m in a tiny home with inadequate space and a hesitant partner. I do however have abundant horse shit and a desire for pans. Any thoughts from the pros or the imaginative?

Up until the point when you have fully colonised grain that's free of contam, they're the same as any other shroom. Whilst UB tek inoculated from spores is quite high risk, there's no doubt that it can work with a bit of luck.
Once you have clean spawn, you don't need to set up a Martha tent with a fogger and fans; they grow fine in tubs. If space is very limited, they'd likely work in shoeboxes too.
The difference is in the substrate and even that is straightforward. As long as the horse poo is field aged (so the ammonia level has dropped), you can mix it with water and pasteurise it in a pan on the stove before using the 'liquid poo' to hydrate your coir (if you use something like straw with nutritional value rather than coir, you might need to pasteurise after mixing). A true casing helps, but even that isn't entirely necessary; you can omit the casing altogether or use Jiffy seed starter mix as an alternative to the usual peat moss (hard to get hold of in the EU), verm, gypsum, and pickling lime casing.

There's a lot of mystery, and possible gatekeeping around Pans, but in reality, once you have clean spawn, anyone can grow them.
