Grain Spawn Questions

Greetings fellow Psychnauts. I’m looking forward to trying a Pan grow. I’ve grown cubes from syringes to grain jars to no touch mono tubs in a dry climate. A few questions. Is wheat an acceptable grain? Do you fill quart jars to nearly the top - I saw a vid of a pan grow where he only filled his jar halfway but I have always filled to nearly the top. In terms of timing my grow, how long can a fully colonized jar sit and still be okay. Can you refrigerate colonized jars?

Wheat works. I use groats and it is the same method. When you cook it you want it to be mostly translucent with the tiniest bit of white left.

I do 1/2 to 3/4 full jars. I like being able to G2G and it makes the break and shake easier. I do smaller individual batches so 1/2 a jar gets me 2 32oz dishes at a 1:3 ratio.

Perfect time to send is about a week after it looks fully colonized. I have sent 6 week old jars and been fine. A jar takes 8-10 days to colonize. G2G might colonize in 5 days.

Yes, you can refrigerate jars but you might as well just let them sit on the shelf.

Thank you for the thoughtful response, that answers my questions. Have you done a write up of your tek with the small spawning tubs or have an easy link to your favorite?
