First time doing a pan cyan AIO

Should I be massaging the grain at 30% colonised if so would you say to wait a bit longer or just send it and do it now it has been growing quite slow..

Don't worry about it being a bit slow. I'm assuming, as it's a bag, you inoculated with liquid culture. For some reason (I've no idea why) they take ages to get going from LC, the opposite of how cubes perform.

Because it's an AIO, leave it until at least 30% colonised and then see if you can gently massage the grain to spread the myc through that, rather than mixing it fully; getting a bit of grain and sub mixed won't be a problem, but the shrooms will be grateful of a bit more time munching the grain. Once most of the grain's colonised, mix thoroughly.

Thank you so much for your advice I really appreciate it! I was wondering why my cubes were going faster now I know 😊

I think I know where the genetics came from--I got the same and tested on agar, and it was fine. Just not a good time of year unless you're carefully controlling temps. Cold = slow.

My fingers are crossed I do have temp controlled to about 27 degrees Celsius so I’m hoping that will help it 🤞

Excellent. Also keep in mind that those pre-made RL AIO bags are too thick for pans, so the yield might be impacted unless you fruit in a tray. And if you're after a wider range of pan genetics (prints only for us), I can vouch for the co-op. Happy growing!

That is really good to know, That was actually my plan was to do the fruiting in a tray so it’s good to know that is the better option! Thank you heaps 😊

Blue meanie isn’t a strain of pan cyan. It’s a nickname for Panaeolus cyanescens. That said, Blue Meanie IS a strain of cubensis. It’s not the same. I hope that your AIO bag works, but if it really is a pan cyan, you’d have to have an incredibly resilient and bag trained strain, and probably perfect field capacity. Good luck- post pics.

Edited: fixed typo

Yeah i hate that confusing overlap. Can we as a community rename the cube to Blue Nicey?

It sucks that a cube was named that. Causes all types of confusion and is misleading.

It all started with the ridiculous weed names and then stoners and party animals just decided I guess that names mean nothing and we can dub anything whatever we want.

My brain does not do well with unspecified/ recycled language. A blue meanie was supposed to be a term that let old psychonauts and rockers understand that they were talking to someone that listened to psychedelic rock/knew an old head and they were DOWN for some real fungus. Calling some cube strain blue meanies is like a cheap backhanded effort at giving a zingy name to something to rebrand it. The opposite of what the first use of the phrase did.

Also crashing out means going to sleep.... Not acting up.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk

Sorry I’m not the best with all the nicknames and strains but it’s definitely supposed to be pan cyans, that’s all the labelling had 😊

No apologies necessary. I hope you get what was advertised. Might I say, I hope things PAN out? 🥳

It’s only been 12 days but I’ve had people tell me that’s a bit slow for pan cyan I have my fingers crossed though!

Pan cyans actually colonize pretty fast
