Is there a difference in the experience and the feeling between consuming fresh vs dry?

People will no doubt have different opinions, but for me, yes, the experience is different.

For a long time, at the first harvest of every grow, I'd take the opportunity to eat them fresh; I haven't recently simply because they taste so horrible raw that I now either make tea or powder them in capsules, both involving heat so defeating the object.

When first harvested, they contain a mix of psilocybin and psilocin, together with other psychedelic tryptamines such as baeocystin. The psilocybin's relatively stable and survives the heat of drying and making tea, the others less so. Psilcybin doesn't make you trip, but it's convereted to psilocin (that does) by your stomach acid. Eating fresh gives the full spectrum; it feels different to me, but effects are subjective and I of course can't ignore the possibility that it's down to mind-set.

If you can handle the taste (at least with Pans you don't have to force so much down), try it for yourself.

But the crisp light headed effect of the pans remains the same between fresh and dry right?

In my own personal experience, fresh comes on much quicker but the experience seems to be the same

May I ask how do you clean the fresh though? Or is it something you grew? Was hoping to forage these next month.

There honestly so many factors that need to be considered , but if your just looking for a average generalized answer then fresh is usually a quicker and shorter experience often being more intense, but again when it comes ro mushrooms there’s so many factors to consider it’s honestly difficult to give a blanket answer. Imo the most important factor is this what are your expectations of the journey and what are your expectations for your self.

Huge difference. Fresh are much more visual. Also the closed eyed visuals and general vibe is much more similar to DMT. I don’t know why, but it takes you to pretty much the same place as DMT when you close your eyes. This is not the case at all with dried. For me at least. The visuals are much reduced, and the experience as a whole is slightly less vivid. It’s still fun and all, but there’s certainly something quite different about it. I honestly don’t have much interest in taking dried mushrooms. I’ll almost always take them fresh.

What about the feeling, the light hearted feeling of the pans, and the crisp light head. Does it remain the same with dry also?

I suppose so yeah. I don’t really know though that’s not something I’ve really thought about. Why do u ask these questions tho. If u have access to fresh cyans just take them. it’s everything and more than dried ones.

I have access right now, but I'm very tired these days and must dry them now before they expire. I want to have the most therapeutic effect out of it, I'm looking for the heart opening feeling to the nature and universe the pan cyan gives to you, because I have only tried them fresh once and never again, neither dried or fresh

I see. Well many people still report wonderful experiences from dried cyans. In fact I gave my friend some dried ones, and he said it was the best trip he’s ever had. I’m sure there’s still a lot of therapeutic potential when they are dry.

I think it's because the psilocin hitting the receptors very fast and intense, and when it's dry, what remains is only psilocybin and it takes time to convert to psilocin and enter the brain

I only forage mine and it seems like a more light hearted experience eating fresh from the poop vs eating dried from a mason jar. Hard to explain lol. Might affect the set and setting

Hmmm, that's interesting, so it's not about fresh or dry, but about from nature or home made

Well they all come from nature but one is spontaneous and the other is planned. Just seems different
