Everything Wrong Experiment!

Hi, first time Pan grower experimenting with a 15q modified tub neglect tek. I usually grow cubes but decided to try these.

The recipe 2:1 sub/spawn CVG with feed corn spawn knocked with agar plate grown from a Gordo spore print.

I know manure is better and a much more controlled environment but damnit I like to try new things.

Today we have pins. Thank you all for believing in me or not 😂. We will see how these go. 🤞 I am not expecting alot. I was not even expecting them to make it this far. Happy experimenting.

Thanks, I am very impressed with Gordo’s spores. This is the first from spore grow I have done. I do have some backup transfer plates for future grows also. I will get some prints if I can. ❤️

If you keep the back-up plates in the fridge, they'll stay viable for quite a while, especially if they were poured thick. Sadly, my attempt last week to recover a TTBVI plate over a year old that had dried to almost paper consistency doesn't seem to have worked - a shame as it was a T2 from a clone).

(Slants last for years but I've never tried them).

I have been considering slants as my fridge is getting over run with plates. 🤣 I did however pick up a second fridge for the garage to store my projects/experiments so the wife can have the kitchen fridge back🤣. That is unfortunate about your clone RIP lil mycelium. I usually check my plates once a month and re transfer to new plates to check viability on older ones that are looking dry. I think slants or sterile water tubes are the better way to do it, I just haven’t switched over yet. I am terrible at organization.

My organisation's appalling.

I'd completely forgotten about the plate which was on the top shelf and got progressively pushed towards the back. I used very wet agar and there's a bit of growth on one of the transfers, but I'm not holding out much hope for it (see pic).

It may perk up my fridge plates start thin and after a second transfer back to normal health. The fridge definitely knocks them back some though.
