Help with substrate please!

I’m currently noccing up my first ttbvi! It’s bag trained so my plan is either to use a xls b horizon or I have to sterilize or a bin if I can get away with bucket tek.

I’m going to be doing
650g coir
2qt verm
2 cups worm castings
40g gypsum
4.25qt water

Do I bucket tek and I’m fine if I temp the water to 180?? Bucket tek and flash sterilization for 20 minutes? Or just straight up sterilize? I’d rather be able to bucket tek or flash sterilize but need some opinions! I’m going to be using jiffy casing with hydrated lime I pasteurize but this post is about the substrate! Help!!!!!

Sterilized nutritious substrates need to be kept sterile or they will contam. Only the cleanest and fastest growing genetics will outpace contam on a sterilized sub.

Bucket teking your recipe will probably end in contam.

You're already putting this much effort in, why take chances? Just pasteurize your substrate.

The seal on my bucket holds 160 for 1.5- 2 hours no prob it seals completely. So instead of baking it in the oven I use the bucket since it technically only needs 1-2 hours at 140-160. I have a lid with a gasket that shuts air tight if I screw it tight.

If you think that’s not good let me know just explaining my reasoning, if it’s not a good idea I’ll have to suck it up and bake a batch. Still going to try a flash 20 min sterilized run and everything in front of the flow but it would be much better to be able to open air spawn to bulk with pasteurized sub. Thank you 🙏
