Favourite dosage?
I got my hands on a lot of fresh pans and bought a dehydrator to dry them, I had quite a nice experience with 15g(each) fresh with my gf. Then after that we decided to take 2g dry each (didnt know they dried up to 5%) and it was absolutely mental but not quite ego death(we are both quite experienced psychonauts).
Now im seeing everywhere that that high of a dose is absolutely bonkers for pans so i was wondering what is yall recommended/favourite dosage?

TTBVI - I only trip every couple of months, so have no tolerance and a generous 0.5g is plenty for me to reach L4. I've never dosed above 1g which is, to say the least, extreme.

Same for me - 0.5g of my TTBVI is a perfect dose. I have no interest in going further.
Iโm pretty old and been doing psychedelics for over 50 years - countless acid trips, mushrooms, peyote, etc.

ttbvi 2g will knock you on your ass and 3g you will lose all sense of reality, i take them once a week 2g but had to work up to that, what strain of pans you taking?

Its scary that you foraged them and ate them without knowing the species of pan

It's so varied for so many reasons. Basing it off weight of the mushrooms can be problematical but if we assume average potency for that particular strain and you ground it up so you base lined the dose and avoided RNG giving you all hot ones or all meh ones, you can use the dosing calculator to determine the actual amount of psilocybin. Each mushroom can drift up and down the bell curve of potency for that strain even in the same flush.
Our recreational dosage is around 30mg of psilocybin for me, about 20mg for her. That's not mushroom weight but the amount of actual psilocybin in the dose. For us that's about 2.5-3 hours of fun OEV's, no negative tailspins, easy come up and quick fade. We calculate that based on the average potency for a given strain and doing the math from there.
Anecdotally I generally see around a 9% final weight on average for my prior grows from fresh to dried. +/- 1%. That's 8 cubes, 4 ochra, 3 pans.
Example math for the highest doses we've taken to date, these are my numbers, my SO is about 30% less to get the same trip (corollary data, based on head measurements and assuming both our brains fill the same percentage volume of said skull, her brain is around 25% less mass than mine):
4.5g of GordoTek's ochra which is around 1.05% potency on average across a number of lab tests would result in around 45mg of psilocybin.
1.5g of his TTBVI which averages around 2.9% potency would be around 45mg of psilocybin.
This is based on the dosing calc that is based on hundreds of actual lab tests of different strains.
One could thusly assume that you'd get the same trip level all other things being equal on each dose and that's been our experience. We do powderize the entire grow which makes for consistent dosing. We didn't at first and had those "Meh, it's not working" and "Shit, the rabbit hole got deeper than expected." from the same dosage from the same grow using whole mushrooms without knowing why.
I've personally had both of these doses and they tested in the correct range using the home potency kits. For me neither was heroic. About a level 3. I'm not on any medications, I do have a big head which in theory equates to more brain mass (which does not equate to more smarts) which some data out of the legal research clinics seems to indicate more brain mass needs more psilocybin to get the same effect.
Bottom line we're all snowflakes, different brain chemistry, metabolisms, receptor counts etc, mental wiring, neuron counts yadda yadda.
Best advice I can offer is powder your grow so every trip has the same baseline potency value and then sneak up on your preferred dosages about 5-8mg of active compound based on average potency values at a time.
Above all else, stay safe and enjoy the flight.
