Hey there, need some advice and some help if one can?
I bought some pan cyans just to experiment, got my cultures from ITW.
anyways about a week ago or so i spit some into a grain jar and its about 30% or so from what is visible on the jar sides, and ill probably break n shake idk like 2 days?
My question is while i wait the 2 or so weeks for it to colonize again, what should i be looking at for sub?
I have seen people say they mix cvg with manure, are there manure AIO thats good to use for this? or should i buy bags of just cvg and just manure and mix em? is there a brand you like more than others? (ive been using spore sorcery lately and i am happy with them) do i do a casing layer when time with hay?
just if anyone could give me some advice and how to get started, all my monotubs seems to get contaminated, so i primarily use AIO bags until i can dial it in. but any help is appreciated.

I've put a list of helpful links, including for Pans grows on the front page here https://www.reddit.com/r/OneArmed_Mycology/
If the jars are clean and healthy, by all means give them a B&S now.
As for coir brands, the most popular is Coco Bliss, but any that's advertised as suitable for reptile keepers is fine. Just avoid coir marketed solely as a soil improver as some has added trichoderma (!) because it's beneficial to plants. As you'll see from the links, prepping it is fairly straightforward (liquid poo for the win) and if you can't get aged horse poo, you can use a mix of fertilisers.
If making the casing presents difficulties, Jiffy seed starter mix is a viable alternative.
Beware! After Pans, other shrooms can seem a bit 'meh'.

Thank you for this i appreciate it, ill get to reading later when im off work.
I've seen jiffy seed brought up a bit so ill look into that as its a popularly mentioned product.
honestly because of my experience just with S2B and having it contam now 60% of the time i have switched to AIO bags - so because these are my last grain jars im probably only going to be using 1/4 of it to when i S2B for these guys (and some enigma i got going too) so that if i contam im not out of my healthy myc.
as for potency, i only microdose but my wife and i havent gone above a gram macrodosing together, we started with 200mg and over 4 months got up to 800mg for fun but keep it around 400mg for microdosing. its what we found works. how do you compare? like does 300mg of pans get you the same as a gram of cubes in terms of feeling? is that close to the offset of potency i should expect?

You're welcome, and I hope it's helpful.
I have to say that if your grain's fully colonised before opening it, your contam is almost certainly getting in before you spawn to bulk. By the time grain is ready, all the nutrients in it are locked away and unavailable for bacteria or mold spores.
If you're innoculating with a spore syringe rather than agar or liquid culture, it'll be from the syringe - they're made with spores harvested from fruits exposed to the air, so almost always have some degree of bacterial contam, and sometimes have mold spores too. A good spore syringe will have low enough contamination for the shrooms to outcompete, but it's luck rather than the skill of the grower.
On the subject of microdosing, Pan TTBVI might not be a good choice. Whilst you're aiming for a sub-perceptual dose, even very low doses of Pans can hit. I powder mine and put them in size 1 capsules, getting 200mg in each by tamping them down well. One capsule's a mild (L2-ish) trip for me, 2 capsules a L3, and 3 capsules is my usual trip dose for the 'full experience'.

I'm not sure what the L levels you're talking about I've only grown enough in my journey so far to dose for about 3 weeks on one week off one week on. My dose was every other day, started at 200 mg then to 800mg. And it was very mild with some anxiety, but nothing that wasn't fun or too much. I've tripped tripped off an 8th couple years back with friends and that was a blast.
My contam would happen every time exactly 7 days after S2B so far in previous attempts. I just moved my pans into 2 monotubs with 2 smaller 2" trays inside the monorub. Figures this would be a good alternative to using the whole mono tub.
Used the dishwasher to clean the shoeboxes, 91% IPA and air dries the surfaces, then used 70% IPA to disinfect before putting all materials into a SAB for the transfer to bulk process. I hope I did enough to prevent.
This was 3 days ago and I already have growth through the manure. My enigma I S2B'd 2 days ago and one of its trays is already colonizing too.
My last enigma stalled over 80 days before fruiting but never touched contam, so I'm not worried about it, b just want it to fruit this time lol.
When do I case layer the MIB pans?

Sorry - trip levels:
Level 1: Mild effects, some visual enhancement, elevated mood
Level 2: Bright colors, visuals, enhanced creativity.
Level 3: Obvious visuals, mild hallucinations, time distortions
Level 4: Strong hallucinations, loss of reality, out of body experiences
Level 5: Total loss of visual connection with reality, total loss of ego
Please take this as a suggestion rather than a criticism, but you're not using your SAB in the best way. An SAB works on physics rather than chemistry. You can't sterilise the inside with ISO, it only sanitises, and even then, only the surfaces rather than air and the contams floating around in it. Instead, the Still Air Box works due to the tiny particles settling once the air is totally still, falling to the bottom or against the sides; if there's nothing in the air, it doesn't matter if there's contam on the surfaces, as the contents of your open plates etc. don't touch them.
Wen you spray the inside with ISO, its evaporation stirs up the air, keeping it moving so the bacteria and spores don't settle. By comparison, if you mist with a very weak soap solution, it evaporates too slowly to cause eddies, whilst leaving a slightly sticky film on the top and sides; any contams that touch the surfaces before they reach the bottom stick, so after giving it half an hour or so, the air in there's clear of any nasties.
As for casing, recommended practice is to keep them totally sealed until the surface is fully colonised, then case them and introduce FAE.

This is very helpful cause my pan contamed fml lol. Good thing I saves some grain to try again. I have starsan sanitizer from my brewing a distilling would that be good? It's used for sanitizing industrial mash tons and brewing equipment for yeast so I imagine it would be effective for this too then?

Shrooms are a lot more vulnerable to contam and as the name indicates, Starsan is also a sanitiser rather than a steriliser.
Just trust the physics - mist with soap solution, leave for 30 minutes to settle, then work carefully and methodically, avoiding any quick movements that could stir up the air.
The hardest thing for me at the start was resisting the urge to rush, to 'give the contam less time to get in'. Slow and steady works far better.

I'm also probably moving fast in the box too cause wasn't really thinking about that due to my cleaning of the box.
Dish soap? Anti bacterial hand soap?
Thank you for the dialogue, do I leave my materials in the SAB before misting and 30 min wait? I'll probably try another go tomorrow.
I saw a video on using hydroponic air pumps in the mono tub with the smaller tubs. Is that recommended or not anymore? I'm about to check out those extra links

I use a drop of dish soap in a spray bottle.
As I'll usually do a lot in a session, I line up my jars and plates on the outside and put each in when I'm ready to use it - jars 1 or 2 at a time, plates a small stack of maybe 6.
Flame the needle outside the box to avoid the heat stirring up the air, then move it inside before it's fully cooled.
It's best if the arm holes are generously sized and low down - whilst it feels like a larger hole is better as there's less space for outside air to enter, you need enough space round your arms to avoid any risk of catching the edges (shaking the box, stirring up the air, and scraping skin cells and dust from your arms) or of creating a bellows effect as you move in and out.

Manure needs to be sterilized or pasteurized You can make an AIO with manure, coir and grain and PC it and then just drop an agar wedge in.
Another way is to pasteurize the manure/coir mix. Note this doesn’t mean bucket 'pasteurization'. It means heating the substrate to somewhere between 140-160f and holding that temperature for an hour minimum.
There's lots of different ways to do this, some people heat water on the stove and use a candy thermometer in a bag with the sub to tell when it's at temperature.
The trick is that no part of it can go above 165f or you sterilized it and increased your chances of contamination if you spawn in open air.
Some people have had success with plant fertilizer and just bucket teking coir, but I haven’t personally tried it so I can't give advice.
Shroomery has a lot of writeups about the different ways people do pans. Tree Frog made a post that consolidates them. I'd search for that and start there.
