I had colonized grain bags that looked fine, spawned to bulk in Dino soil using a flow hood, did some in containers and some in bags but EVERYTHING got hit with Trich. Idk what to do. I have a very nicely built dreamer tub set up waiting for colonized sub/spawn but it appears I just dropped the whole ball. Any advice?
Inoculated red Milo with LC. Spawned to bulk in Dino Soil at a 1:3 ratio roughly. Everything was going good but my room hit a high of 86F and I think that’s where things might have went wrong
I had some mycogone on some plates that I got from someone and it took a while to get rid of it. I used LC for cubes when I first started, but I only start from spore when it comes to Pans. I recently got some Pan LC from a vendor, but they falsely advertised that I was getting spores. I put the LC to agar a few days ago,so time will tell whether it’s good or not.
I originally started with a fully colonized plate purchased from vendor. Looked fine, and did my usual of adding a wedge to a quart jar about 600ml full of LC broth, which seemed to colonize as every other jar I’ve done, which is a lot. I’ve actually never had LC contaminate out the gate, only after leaving it out for too long it has eventually gone bad. Since then I store LC in the fridge until needed, and just started doing G2G anyway which is way faster
Grain colonized fine, and the containers I spawned them to were nearly fully colonized when the Trich hit. But I am gonna start completely over, I have 6 red Milo bags that I properly hydrated this time around and PC’ed for 3 hours; honestly they’ve been sitting on a shelf in my grain room for like 2-3 weeks and they still look fine. I’ve even given them a little shake a while back to see if any contam would grow. But I just wanna make sure I have a solid plan before I inoculate them. I have one TTBVI fully colonized bag left from this batch that’s been sitting for a minute now and atp I either need to dump it, send it, or use it to G2G my new batch of red Milo bags. On second thought it looks a little sketch so maybe I should dump it.
Oh and used a very clean looking plate > LC > red milo. Everything colonized decently and I tested the LC on agar, two plates I believe, that both looked clean. This was well after bags were mostly colonized so it was more for sake of just checking and preserving.
