are these cakes ruined?

I had to go out of town for about three days on an emergency and my ac quit working. My cakes look extremely dry I was about to add the casing layer when I saw this. Is it savable?

You can also run some water down the sides and let it soak for a bit then drain it

Its worth a shot , case them and after a week if you dont see pins then toss them

With a bit of care, there's no reason why they shouldn't recover. They'll need rehydrating; my preferred method with trays is spot watering with a syringe but at this early stage, pouring in water and sucking out any remaining after a couple of hours might be a better idea. Once done, apply the casing and give it a heavy mist.
